Ioan 7
1 După acestea Isus a umblat prin Galileea fiindcă nu voia să umble prin Iudeea, pentru că iudeii căutau să îl ucidă.
And, after these things, Jesus was walking in Galilee; for he was not wishing, in Judaea, to be walking, because the Jews were seeking to slay him.
2 Și sărbătoarea iudeilor, a corturilor, era aproape.
But the feast of the Jews was near, that of the pitching of tents.
3 De aceea frații lui i-au spus: Pleacă de aici și mergi în Iudeea, ca să vadă și discipolii tăi faptele pe care tu le faci.
His brethren, therefore, said unto him—Remove hence, and withdraw into Judaea, that, thy disciples also, may view thy works which thou art doing.
4 Fiindcă nimeni nu face ceva în taină, ci el însuși caută să fie cunoscut pe față. Dacă faci acestea, arată-te pe tine însuți lumii.
For, no one, anything in secret, doeth, and yet is seeking, himself, to be well-known. If, these things, thou art doing, manifest thyself unto the world.
5 Fiindcă nici frații lui nu credeau în el.
For, not even his brethren, were believing on him.
6 Atunci Isus le-a spus: Timpul meu încă nu a venit; dar timpul vostru întotdeauna este gata.
Jesus, therefore, saith unto them—My season, not yet, is here; but, your season, at anytime, is ready:
7 Lumea nu vă poate urî; dar pe mine mă urăște, pentru că eu aduc mărturie despre ea, că faptele ei sunt rele.
The world cannot hate you; but, me, it hateth, because, I, bear witness concerning it, that, the works thereof, are, wicked.
8 Urcați-vă la această sărbătoare, eu nu mă urc încă la această sărbătoare, pentru că timpul meu încă nu s-a împlinit.
Ye, go up unto the feast: I, not yet, am coming up unto this feast, because, my season, not yet, hath fully come.
9 După ce le-a spus aceste cuvinte, a rămas în Galileea.
And, these things, having said unto them, he was still abiding in Galilee.
10 Dar după ce au urcat frații lui, atunci a urcat și el la sărbătoare, nu pe față, ci ca în taină.
But, when his brethren had gone up unto the feast, then, he also, went up, —not openly, but as it were in secret.
11 Atunci iudeii îl căutau la sărbătoare și spuneau: Unde este acela?
The Jews, therefore, were seeking him in the feast, and were saying—Where is that one?
12 Și era multă cârtire în mulțime despre el; într-adevăr unii spuneau: Este un om bun; alții spuneau: Nu, ci înșală mulțimea.
and there was great, murmuring, about him among the multitudes: some, indeed, were saying—Good, is he! [but], others, were saying—Not so! but he is leading the multitude astray.
13 Totuși, nimeni nu vorbea pe față despre el, de teama iudeilor.
No one, nevertheless, was speaking, openly, about him, because of their fear of the Jews.
14 Dar pe la jumătatea sărbătorii, Isus a urcat la templu și îi învăța.
Presently, however, the feast being at its height, Jesus went up unto the temple and was teaching.
15 Și iudeii se minunau, spunând: Cum știe acest om carte fără să fi învățat?
The Jews, therefore, began to marvel, saying—How, doth this one know, letters, not having learned?
16 Isus le-a răspuns și a zis: Doctrina mea nu este a mea, ci a celui care m-a trimis.
Jesus, therefore, answered them, and said—My teaching, is not mine, but his who sent me.
17 Dacă cineva voiește să facă voia lui, va cunoaște despre doctrina aceasta, dacă este din Dumnezeu, sau dacă eu vorbesc de la mine însumi.
If any one intend, his will, to do, he shall get to know concerning the teaching—whether it is, of God, or, I, from myself, am speaking,
18 Cine vorbește de la el însuși caută propria lui glorie; dar cine caută gloria celui ce l-a trimis, acela este adevărat și în el nu este nedreptate.
He that, from himself, doth speak, his own glory, is seeking: he that seeketh the glory of him that sent him, the same, is, true, and, injustice, in him, is there none.
19 Nu v-a dat Moise legea și [totuși] nimeni dintre voi nu ține legea? De ce căutați să mă ucideți?
Did not, Moses, give you the law? And yet, not one of you, doeth the law!—Why, seek ye, to slay, me?
20 Mulțimea i-a răspuns și a zis: Ai drac, cine caută să te ucidă?
The multitude answered—A demon, thou hast: Who, is seeking, to slay, thee?
21 Isus a răspuns și le-a zis: Am făcut o lucrare și toți vă minunați.
Jesus answered, and said unto them—One work, I did, and ye, all, are marvelling:
22 De aceea Moise v-a dat circumcizia (nu că este din Moise, ci din patriarhi) și circumcideți un om în sabat.
For this cause, Moses, hath given you, circumcision, —not that, of Moses, it is, but of the fathers; —and, on Sabbath, ye circumcise a man.
23 Dacă un om primește circumcizia în sabat, ca nu cumva legea lui Moise să se calce, sunteți mâniați pe mine pentru că am făcut un om în întregime sănătos în sabat?
If, circumcision, a man receiveth, on Sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, with me, are ye bitter as gall, because, a whole man, I made, well, on Sabbath?
24 Nu judecați după înfățișare, ci judecați judecată dreaptă.
Be not judging according to appearance, but, just judgment, be judging,
25 Atunci unii dintre cei din Ierusalim au spus: Nu este acesta cel pe care caută ei să îl ucidă?
So then, some of them of Jerusalem were saying—Is not, this, he whom they are seeking to kill?
26 Și iată, vorbește cutezător și ei nu îi spun nimic. Știu cumva conducătorii că acesta este cu adevărat Cristosul?
And yet, see! with freedom of speech, he is talking, and, nothing, unto him, do they say: —Have the rulers perhaps come to know, of a truth, that, this, is, the Christ?
27 Totuși noi știm de unde este acesta; însă când vine Cristosul, nimeni nu știe de unde este.
But, as for this one, we know whence he is; The Christ, however, whensoever he shall come, no one, getteth to know whence he is.
28 Și Isus, pe când îi învăța în templu, a strigat și a spus: Deopotrivă mă cunoașteți și știți de unde sunt. Și nu am venit de la mine însumi, dar cel ce m-a trimis este adevărat, cel pe care voi nu îl cunoașteți.
Jesus, therefore, cried aloud in the temple, teaching, and saying—Both me, ye know, and ye know whence I am, —and yet, of myself, have I not come, but he is real, who sent me, whom, ye, know not.
29 Dar eu îl cunosc, fiindcă sunt de la el și el m-a trimis.
I, know him, because, from him, I am, and, he, sent me forth.
30 De aceea căutau să îl prindă; dar nimeni nu a pus mâinile pe el, deoarece încă nu îi venise timpul.
They were seeking therefore to seize him; and yet no one laid on him his hand, because, not yet, had come his hour.
31 Și mulți din mulțime au crezut în el și au spus: Când vine Cristosul va face mai multe miracole decât cele pe care le-a făcut acesta?
But, from amongst the multitude, many, believed on him, and were saying—The Christ, whensoever he cometh, greater signs, will he do, than those which, this one, did?
32 Fariseii au auzit mulțimea cârtind astfel de lucruri despre el; și fariseii și preoții de seamă au trimis ofițeri ca să îl prindă.
The Pharisees hearkened unto the multitude murmuring concerning him these things; and the High-priests and the Pharisees sent forth officers, that they might seize him.
33 Atunci Isus le-a spus: Mai sunt cu voi puțin timp și apoi mă duc la cel ce m-a trimis.
Jesus, therefore, said—Yet a little time, I am, with you, and withdraw unto him that sent me:
34 Mă veți căuta și nu mă veți găsi; și unde sunt eu, voi nu puteți veni.
Ye shall seek me, and not find me, and, where, I, am, ye, cannot come.
35 Atunci iudeii au spus între ei: Unde se va duce el, ca să nu îl putem găsi? Nu cumva se va duce la cei împrăștiați printre neamuri și să îi învețe pe neamuri?
The Jews, therefore, said unto themselves—Whither, is, this one, about to go, that we shall not find him? Unto the dispersion of the Greeks, is he about to go, and teach the Greeks?
36 Ce este acest cuvânt pe care l-a spus: Mă veți căuta și nu mă veți găsi; și unde sunt eu, voi nu puteți veni?
What, is this which he said: Ye shall seek me and not find me, and, where, I, am, ye, cannot come?
37 În ultima zi, ziua cea mare a sărbătorii, Isus a stat în picioare și a strigat, spunând: Dacă însetează cineva, să vină la mine și să bea.
Now, on the last—the great—day of the feast, Jesus was standing, and he cried aloud, saying—If any man thirst, let him come unto me and drink:
38 Cel ce crede în mine, după cum a spus scriptura, din lăuntrul lui vor curge râuri de apă vie.
He that believeth on me—just as said the Scripture, —River, from within him, shall flow, of living water.
39 (Dar spunea aceasta despre Duhul, pe care cei ce cred în el urmau să îl primească, pentru că Duhul Sfânt încă nu fusese dat, pentru că Isus nu fusese încă glorificat.)
Now, this, spake he concerning the Spirit which they who believed on him were about to receive; for, not yet, was there Spirit, because, Jesus, not yet, was glorified!
40 De aceea mulți din mulțime, când au auzit acest cuvânt, au spus: Acesta este cu adevărat Profetul.
Some from amongst the multitude, therefore, having hearkened unto these words, were saying—This, is, in truth, the prophet.
41 Alții au spus: Acesta este Cristosul. Dar unii au spus: Din Galileea vine Cristosul?
Others, were saying—This, is, the Christ. But, others, were saying—Out of Galilee, is, the Christ, to come?
42 Nu a spus scriptura că: Din sămânța lui David și din satul Betleem, de unde era David, vine Cristosul?
Hath not the Scripture said: Of the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was, cometh the Christ?
43 Astfel în mulțime a fost dezbinare din cauza lui.
A division, therefore, arose in the multitude, because of him.
44 Iar unii dintre ei voiau să îl prindă; dar nimeni nu a pus mâinile pe el.
Certain, indeed, from among them, were wishing to seize him; but, no one, thrust upon him his hands.
45 Ofițerii au venit atunci la preoții de seamă și la farisei, iar ei le-au spus: De ce nu l-ați adus?
So then the officers came unto the High-priests and Pharisees, and, they, said unto them—For what cause, have ye not brought him?
46 Ofițerii au răspuns: Niciodată vreun om nu a vorbit ca omul acesta.
The officers answered—Never, man spake thus!
47 Atunci fariseii le-au răspuns: Nu ați fost și voi înșelați?
The Pharisees, therefore, answered them—Surely, ye also, have not been led astray?
48 A crezut în el vreunul dintre conducători sau dintre farisei?
Surely, none of the rulers, hath believed in him, nor of the Pharisees?
49 Dar această mulțime, care nu știe legea, este blestemată.
But, this multitude, that take no note of the law, are, laid under a curse.
50 Nicodim (cel care venise la Isus noaptea, fiind unul dintre ei), le-a spus:
Nicodemus saith unto them—he that came unto him formerly, being, one, from among them—
51 Judecă legea noastră pe un om înainte să îl asculte și să știe ce face?
Surely, our law, doth not judge the man, unless it hear first from him, and get to know what he is doing?
52 Iar ei au răspuns și i-au zis: Nu ești și tu din Galileea? Cercetează și vezi, pentru că din Galileea nu se ridică niciun profet.
They answered and said unto him—Surely, thou also, art not, of Galilee? Search and see! That, out of Galilee, a prophet is not to arise.
53 Și fiecare a mers acasă.
And they went, each unto his own house;
