Iov 40
1 Și DOMNUL i-a mai răspuns lui Iov și a zis:
Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 Îl va instrui pe cel Atotputernic cel ce se ceartă cu el? Cel ce mustră pe Dumnezeu, să îi răspundă.
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct [him]? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 Atunci Iov a răspuns DOMNULUI și a zis:
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 Iată, sunt un nemernic; ce să îți răspund? Îmi voi pune mâna la gură.
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 O dată am vorbit; dar nu voi mai răspunde; da, de două ori, dar nu voi mai continua.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 Atunci DOMNUL i-a răspuns lui Iov din vârtejul de vânt și a zis:
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 Încinge-ți acum coapsele ca un bărbat; eu te voi întreba iar tu răspunde-mi.
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Vei anula și judecata mea? Mă vei condamna ca să poți fi drept?
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 Ai tu braț asemenea lui Dumnezeu? Sau poți tuna cu o voce asemenea lui?
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 Înfrumusețează-te cu maiestate și măreție; și înveșmântează-te cu glorie și frumusețe.
Deck thyself now [with] majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Aruncă departe turbarea furiei tale și privește pe fiecare om mândru și doboară-i.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one [that is] proud, and abase him.
12 Uită-te la fiecare om mândru și umilește-l; și calcă în picioare pe cei stricați la locul lor.
Look on every one [that is] proud, [and] bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Ascunde-i împreună în țărână și înfășoară-le fețele în tăinuire.
Hide them in the dust together; [and] bind their faces in secret.
14 Atunci îți voi mărturisi că dreapta ta te poate salva.
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
15 Iată acum behemotul, pe care l-am făcut cu tine; el mănâncă iarbă ca un bou.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Iată acum, tăria lui este în coapsele lui și forța lui este în buricul pântecelui său.
Lo now, his strength [is] in his loins, and his force [is] in the navel of his belly.
17 Își mișcă coada asemenea unui cedru; tendoanele coapselor lui sunt înfășurate împreună.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 Oasele lui sunt ca bucăți tari de aramă; oasele lui sunt asemenea drugilor de fier.
His bones [are as] strong pieces of brass; his bones [are] like bars of iron.
19 El este întâiul căilor lui Dumnezeu; Făcătorul lui îi apropie sabia.
He [is] the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach [unto him].
20 Cu siguranță munții îi aduc mâncare, unde toate animalele câmpiei se joacă.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 Se întinde sub copacii umbroși, la adăpostul trestiei și al mlaștinilor.
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 Copacii umbroși îl acoperă cu umbra lor; sălciile pârâului îl înconjoară.
The shady trees cover him [with] their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Iată, bea un râu și nu se grăbește; se încrede că poate seca Iordanul în gura sa.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, [and] hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 El îl ia la ochi; nasul lui străpunge prin capcane.
He taketh it with his eyes: [his] nose pierceth through snares.
