Iov 34
1 Mai departe, Elihu a răspuns și a zis:
Moreover Elihu answered, and said,
2 Ascultați cuvintele mele, voi înțelepților; și aplecați urechea spre mine, voi care aveți cunoaștere.
Hear my words, ye wise men, and give ear to me, ye who have knowledge.
3 Căci urechea încearcă cuvinte, precum gura gustă mâncare.
For the ear tries words as the palate tastes food.
4 Să ne alegem judecată, să cunoaștem între noi ce este bun.
Let us choose for us that which is right. Let us know among ourselves what is good.
5 Fiindcă Iov a spus: Sunt drept și Dumnezeu mi-a luat judecata.
For Job has said, I am righteous, and God has taken away my right.
6 Să mint eu împotriva dreptului meu? Rana mea este incurabilă, fără nelegiuire.
Notwithstanding my right I am accounted a liar. My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.
7 Ce bărbat este asemenea lui Iov, care bea batjocură ca apa?
What man is like Job, who drinks up scorning like water,
8 Care merge [și] se însoțește cu lucrătorii nelegiuirii și umblă cu oameni stricați.
saying, I have not sinned, nor committed unrighteousness, nor had fellowship with workers of iniquity to go with the profane.
9 Căci a spus: Nu folosește la nimic unui bărbat să se desfete cu Dumnezeu.
For thou should not say, There shall be no visitation to a man, whereas visitation is to him from the Lord.
10 De aceea dați-mi ascultare, voi oameni ai înțelegerii, departe de Dumnezeu să facă stricăciune; și de cel Atotputernic, să facă nelegiuire.
Therefore hearken to me, ye men of understanding. Far be it from me to sin before the Lord, and pervert righteousness before the Almighty.
11 Căci el va întoarce omului după lucrarea sa și va face pe fiecare om să găsească conform căilor sale.
For the work of a man he will render to him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
12 Da, cu siguranță Dumnezeu nu va lucra cu stricăciune, nici cel Atotputernic nu va perverti judecata.
Yea, certainly God will not do wrong. Neither will the Almighty pervert justice.
13 Cine i-a dat poruncă asupra pământului? Sau cine a aranjat întreaga lume?
Who gave him a charge over the earth? Or who has disposed the whole world?
14 Dacă își pune inima asupra omului, dacă adună la el duhul său și suflarea sa,
If he sets his heart upon himself, if he gathers his spirit and his breath to himself,
15 Toată făptura va pieri împreună și omul se va întoarce înapoi la țărână.
all flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again to dust.
16 Dacă ai acum înțelegere, ascultă aceasta, dă ascultare la vocea cuvintelor mele.
If now thou be understanding, hear this. Hearken to the voice of words.
17 Va guverna cel ce urăște dreptatea? Și vei condamna tu pe cel mai drept?
Behold thou him who hates lawlessness, and who destroys evil men, who is forever righteousness,
18 Este potrivit să spui unui împărat: Ești stricat? Și prinților: Sunteți neevlavioși?
him who says to a king, Thou are vile, to ranking men, Ye are wicked,
19 Cu cât mai puțin celui ce nu părtinește pe prinți, nici nu dă atenție celui bogat mai mult decât celui sărac? Căci toți sunt lucrarea mâinilor sale.
who does not respect the persons of rulers, nor regards the rich more than the poor. For they all are the work of his hands.
20 Într-o clipă vor muri și poporul va fi tulburat la miezul nopții și va trece și cel tare va fi luat fără mână.
In a moment they die, even at midnight. The people are shaken and pass away, and the mighty are taken away without hand.
21 Pentru că ochii lui sunt peste căile omului și el vede toate umblările lui.
For his eyes are upon the ways of a man, and he sees all his goings.
22 Nu este întuneric, nici umbră a morții, unde lucrătorii nelegiuirii să se ascundă.
There is no darkness, nor thick gloom where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
23 Fiindcă nu va pune peste om mai mult decât ce este drept; ca el să intre la judecată cu Dumnezeu.
For he needs no further to consider a man, that he should go before God in judgment.
24 Va rupe în bucăți viteji fără număr și va așeza pe alții în locul lor.
He breaks in pieces mighty men in ways past finding out, and sets others in their stead.
25 De aceea el le cunoaște faptele și îi răstoarnă în timpul nopții, astfel că sunt nimiciți.
Therefore he takes knowledge of their works, and he overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
26 Îi lovește ca pe oamenii stricați în văzul celorlalți,
He strikes them as wicked men in the open sight of others
27 Fiindcă s-au întors de la el și au refuzat să ia aminte la oricare dintre căile sale,
because they turned aside from following him, and would not have regard in any of his ways,
28 Astfel că ei fac strigătul săracului să ajungă la el, iar el aude strigătul celui nenorocit.
so that they caused the cry of the poor to come to him, and he heard the cry of the afflicted.
29 Când dă liniște, cine poate face tulburare? Și când își ascunde fața, cine îl poate privi? Fie că este împotriva unei națiuni, sau doar împotriva unui om;
When he gives quietness, who then can condemn? And when he hides his face, who then can behold him? It is the same whether to a nation, or to a man,
30 Ca să nu domnească omul fățarnic, ca nu cumva poporul să fie prins în laț.
that the profane man not reign, that there be none to ensnare the people.
31 Negreșit este potrivit a spune lui Dumnezeu: Am purtat pedeapsă, nu mă voi poticni;
For has any said to God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more.
32 Învață-mă ce nu văd; dacă am făcut nelegiuire, nu mă voi mai poticni.
Teach thou me that which I do not see. If I have done iniquity, I will do it no more?
33 Este aceasta conform minții tale? El o va răsplăti, fie că refuzi, fie că o alegi; și nu eu; de aceea vorbește ceea ce cunoști.
Shall his recompense be as thou desire, that thou refuse it? For thou must choose, and not I. Therefore speak what thou know.
34 Să îmi spună oamenii cu înțelegere și să îmi dea ascultare un bărbat înțelept.
Men of understanding will say to me, yes, every wise man who hears me,
35 Iov a vorbit fără cunoaștere și cuvintele sale au fost fără înțelepciune.
Job speaks without knowledge, and his words are without wisdom.
36 Dorința mea este ca Iov să fie încercat până la capăt din cauza răspunsurilor lui de partea celor stricați.
But surely not. Learn thou Job not to still give an answer like the foolish,
37 Fiindcă adaugă rebeliune la păcatul său, bate din palme printre noi și își înmulțește cuvintele împotriva lui Dumnezeu.
so that we may not add to our sins, and lawlessness will be reckoned against us, speaking many words before the Lord.
