Iov 18
1 Atunci a răspuns Bildad șuhitul și a zis:
Then Baldad the Sauchite answered and said,
2 Cât timp va trece până vei pune capăt vorbelor? Fă semn și apoi vom vorbi.
How long wilt thou continue? forbear, that we also may speak.
3 Pentru ce suntem socotiți ca fiare și considerați nemernici înaintea ta?
For wherefore have we been silent before thee like brutes?
4 El însuși se sfâșie în mânia sa; va fi pământul părăsit pentru tine? Și va fi stânca mutată din locul său?
Anger has possessed thee: for what if thou shouldest die; would [the earth] under heaven be desolate? or shall the mountains be overthrown from their foundations?
5 Da, lumina celui stricat va fi stinsă și scânteia focului său nu va străluci.
But the light of the ungodly shall be quenched, and their flame shall not go up.
6 Lumina va fi întuneric în cortul său și candela sa va fi stinsă cu el.
His light [shall be] darkness in [his] habitation, and his lamp shall be put out with him.
7 Pașii tăriei lui vor fi strâmtorați și propriul său sfat îl va trânti.
Let the meanest of men spoil his goods, and let his counsel deceive [him].
8 Fiindcă este aruncat într-o plasă prin propriile sale picioare și calcă pe o cursă.
His foot also has been caught in a snare, [and] let it be entangled in a net.
9 Lațul îl va prinde de călcâi și tâlharul îl va învinge.
And let snares come upon him: he shall strengthen those that thirst for his destruction.
10 Cursa îi este întinsă în pământ și o capcană pentru el pe cale.
His snare is hid in the earth, and that which shall take him is by the path.
11 Terori îl vor înspăimânta de fiecare parte și îl vor pune pe fugă.
Let pains destroy him round about, and let many [enemies] come about him,
12 Puterea lui va fi înfometată și nimicire va fi gata lângă el.
[vex him] with distressing hunger: and a signal destruction has been prepared for him.
13 Aceasta va mânca tăria pielii lui; întâiul născut al morții îi va mânca tăria.
Let the soles of his feet be devoured: and death shall consume his beauty.
14 Încrederea sa va fi dezrădăcinată din cortul său și aceasta îl va aduce la împăratul terorilor.
And let health be utterly banished from his tabernacle, and let distress seize upon him with a charge from the king.
15 Se va locui în cortul său deoarece nu este al său; pucioasă va fi împrăștiată peste locuința sa.
It shall dwell in his tabernacle in his night: his excellency shall be sown with brimstone.
16 Rădăcinile lui vor fi uscate dedesubt și deasupra, ramura lui va fi retezată.
His roots shall be dried up from beneath, and his crop shall fall away from above.
17 Amintirea sa va pieri de pe pământ și nu va avea un nume în stradă.
Let his memorial perish out of the earth, and his name shall be publicly cast out.
18 Va fi dus de la lumină în întuneric și alungat din lume.
Let [one] drive him from light into darkness.
19 El nu va avea nici fiu, nici nepot printre oamenii săi, nici cineva să rămână în locuințele lui.
He shall not be known among his people, nor his house preserved on the earth.
20 Cei ce vin după el vor fi înmărmuriți la ziua lui, așa cum au fost îngroziți cei dinainte.
But strangers shall dwell in his possessions: the last groaned for him, and wonder seized the first.
21 Cu adevărat astfel sunt locuințele celui stricat și acesta este locul celui ce nu cunoaște pe Dumnezeu.
These are the houses of the unrighteous, and this is the place of them that know not the Lord.
