Ieremia 51
1 Astfel spune DOMNUL: Iată, voi ridica împotriva Babilonului și împotriva celor ce locuiesc în mijlocul celor ce se ridică împotriva mea, un vânt nimicitor;
Thus sayth the Lord, Beholde, I wil raise vp against Babel, and against the inhabitants that lift vp their heart against me, a destroying wind,
2 Și voi trimite în Babilon vânturători, care îl vor vântura și îi vor goli țara, pentru că în ziua tulburării ei vor fi împotriva lui de jur împrejur.
And wil send vnto Babel fanners that shall fanne her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shalbe against her on euery side.
3 Împotriva celui ce încordează arcul, arcașul să își întindă arcul și împotriva celui care se înalță în cămașa lui de zale; și nu cruțați pe tinerii lui; nimiciți în întregime toată oștirea lui.
Also to the bender that bendeth his bowe, and to him that lifteth himselfe vp in his brigandine, will I say, Spare not her yong men, but destroy all her hoste.
4 Astfel, cei uciși vor cădea în țara caldeenilor și cei care sunt străpunși pe străzile ei.
Thus the slaine shall fall in the lande of the Caldeans, and they that are thrust through in her streetes.
5 Pentru că Israel nu a fost părăsit, nici Iuda de Dumnezeul său, de DOMNUL oștirilor; deși țara lor a fost umplută cu păcat împotriva Celui Sfânt al lui Israel.
For Israel hath bene no widowe, nor Iudah from his God, from the Lord of hostes, though their lande was filled with sinne against the holy one of Israel.
6 Fugiți din mijlocul Babilonului și să își scape fiecare om sufletul său; nu fiți stârpiți în nelegiuirea lui, pentru că acesta este timpul răzbunării DOMNULUI; el îi va întoarce o răsplată.
Flee out of the middes of Babel, and deliuer euery man his soule: be not destroyed in her iniquitie: for this is the time of the Lordes vengeance he will render vnto her a recompence.
7 Babilonul a fost un pahar de aur în mâna DOMNULUI, care a îmbătat tot pământul; națiunile au băut din vinul lui; de aceea națiunile au înnebunit.
Babel hath bene as a golden cuppe in the Lordes hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations haue drunken of her wine, therefore do the nations rage.
8 Babilonul a căzut dintr-odată și este distrus; urlați pentru el; luați balsam pentru durerea lui, dacă astfel s-ar putea vindeca.
Babel is suddenly fallen, and destroyed: howle for her, bring balme for her sore, if she may be healed.
9 Am căutat să vindecăm Babilonul, dar nu s-a vindecat; părăsiți-l și să mergem fiecare în țara sa, pentru că judecata lui ajunge până la cer și este înălțată până la ceruri.
We would haue cured Babel, but she could not be healed: forsake her, and let vs go euery one into his owne countrey: for her iudgement is come vp vnto heauen, and is lifted vp to ye cloudes.
10 DOMNUL a scos la lumină dreptatea noastră; veniți, și să vestim în Sion lucrarea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul nostru.
The Lord hath brought forth our righteousnesse: come and let vs declare in Zion the worke of the Lord our God.
11 Lustruiți săgețile; adunați scuturile; DOMNUL a ridicat duhul împăraților mezilor, pentru că planul său este împotriva Babilonului, pentru a-l nimici; deoarece aceasta este răzbunarea DOMNULUI, răzbunarea templului său.
Make bright the arrowes: gather the shieldes: the Lord hath raised vp the spirit of the King of the Medes: for his purpose is against Babel to destroy it, because it is the vengeance of the Lord, and the vengeance of his Temple.
12 Ridicați steagul împotriva zidurilor Babilonului, întăriți garda, puneți paznici, pregătiți ambuscadele, pentru că DOMNUL deopotrivă a plănuit și a făcut ceea ce a vorbit împotriva locuitorilor Babilonului.
Set vp the standart vpon the walles of Babel, make the watch strong: set vp the watchmen: prepare the skoutes: for the Lord hath both deuised, and done that which he spake against the inhabitantes of Babel.
13 Tu, cel care locuiești pe multe ape, bogat în comori, ți-a venit sfârșitul, măsura lăcomiei tale.
O thou that dwellest vpon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine ende is come, euen the ende of thy couetousnes.
14 DOMNUL oștirilor a jurat pe sine însuși, spunând: Cu siguranță te voi umple cu oameni, precum cu omizi; și ei vor înălța un strigăt împotriva ta.
The Lord of hostes hath sworne by him selfe, saying, Surely I will fill thee with men, as with caterpillers, and they shall cry and shoute against thee.
15 El a făcut pământul prin puterea lui, a întemeiat lumea prin înțelepciunea lui și a întins cerul prin înțelegerea lui.
He hath made the earth by his power, and established the world by his wisedome, and hath stretched out the heauen by his discretion.
16 Când își înalță vocea, o mulțime de ape sunt în ceruri, și el face aburii să se înalțe de la marginile pământului; el face fulgere împreună cu ploaia și scoate vântul din tezaurele lui.
Hee giueth by his voyce the multitude of waters in the heauen, and he causeth the cloudes to ascend from the endes of the earth: he turneth lightnings to raine, and bringeth forth the winde out of his treasures.
17 Fiecare om este neghiob prin cunoașterea lui; fiecare topitor este încurcat prin chipul cioplit; deoarece chipul lui turnat este falsitate și nu este suflare în ele.
Euery man is a beast by his owne knowledge: euery founder is confounded by the grauen image: for his melting is but falsehood, and there is no breath therein.
18 Ele sunt zădărnicie, lucrarea înșelătoriilor; vor pieri la timpul cercetării lor.
They are vanitie, and the worke of errours: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
19 Partea lui Iacob nu este ca ei, pentru că el este făuritorul a toate lucrurile; și Israel este toiagul moștenirii lui: DOMNUL oștirilor este numele lui.
The portion of Iaakob is not like them: for he is the maker of all things, and Israel is the rodde of his inheritance: the Lord of hostes is his Name.
20 Tu ești securea mea de bătălie și armele de război; fiindcă cu tine voi zdrobi în bucăți națiunile și cu tine voi distruge împărățiile;
Thou art mine hammer, and weapons of warre: for with thee will I breake the nations, and with thee wil I destroy kingdomes,
21 Și cu tine voi zdrobi în bucăți calul și călărețul lui; și cu tine voi zdrobi în bucăți carul și pe conducătorul lui;
And by thee wil I breake horse and horseman, and by thee will I breake the charet and him that rideth therein.
22 Cu tine de asemenea voi zdrobi în bucăți pe bărbat și pe femeie; și cu tine voi zdrobi în bucăți pe bătrân și pe tânăr; și cu tine voi zdrobi în bucăți pe tânăr și pe tânără;
By thee also will I breake man and woman, and by thee wil I breake olde and yong, and by thee wil I breake the yong man and the mayde.
23 De asemenea, cu tine, voi zdrobi în bucăți pe păstor și turma lui; și cu tine voi zdrobi în bucăți pe agricultor și perechea lui de boi; și cu tine voi zdrobi în bucăți căpetenii și conducători.
I wil also breake by thee the shepheard and his flocke, and by thee will I breake the husband man and his yoke of oxen, and by thee will I breake the dukes and princes.
24 Și voi întoarce Babilonului și tuturor locuitorilor din Caldeea tot răul lor pe care l-au făcut în Sion înaintea ochilor voștri, spune DOMNUL.
And I will render vnto Babel, and to all the inhabitants of the Caldeans all their euil, that they haue done in Zion, euen in your sight, sayth the Lord.
25 Iată, spune DOMNUL, eu sunt împotriva ta, munte distrugător, tu care distrugi tot pământul; și eu îmi voi întinde mâna asupra ta și te voi rostogoli de pe stânci și te voi face un munte ars.
Beholde, I come vnto thee, O destroying mountaine, sayth the Lord, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand vpon thee, and rolle thee downe from the rockes, and wil make thee a burnt mountaine.
26 Și ei nu vor lua din tine piatră pentru colț, nici piatră pentru temelii, ci vei fi pustiit pentru totdeauna, spune DOMNUL.
They shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations, but thou shalt be destroyed for euer, sayth the Lord.
27 Înălțați un steag în țară, sunați trâmbița printre națiuni, pregătiți națiunile împotriva lui, chemați împotriva lui împărățiile din Ararat, Miniu și Așchenaz; rânduiți o căpetenie împotriva lui; faceți caii să urce ca omizile zburlite.
Set vp a standard in the lande: blowe the trumpets among the nations: prepare the nations against her: call vp the kingdomes of Ararat, Minni, and Ashchenaz against her: appoynt the prince against her: cause horses to come vp as the rough caterpillers.
28 Pregătiți împotriva lui națiunile împreună cu împărații mezilor, pe căpeteniile lor și pe toți conducătorii lor și toată țara stăpânirii lui.
Prepare against her the nations with the Kings of the Medes, the dukes thereof, and the princes thereof, and all the land of his dominion.
29 Și țara se va cutremura și va fi chinuită, pentru că fiecare hotărâre a DOMNULUI se va împlini împotriva Babilonului, pentru a face țara Babilonului o pustiire fără locuitor.
And the land shall tremble and sorow: for the deuise of the Lord shalbe performed against Babel, to make the lande of Babel waste without an inhabitant.
30 Războinicii Babilonului au încetat să lupte, au rămas în întăriturile lor, puterea lor s-a sfârșit; au devenit ca femeile; au ars locuințele lui; zăvoarele lui sunt sparte.
The strong men of Babel haue ceased to fight: they haue remayned in their holdes: their strength hath fayled, and they were like women: they haue burnt her dwelling places, and her barres are broken.
31 Un alergător va alerga să întâlnească pe un altul, și un mesager să întâlnească pe un altul, pentru a arăta împăratului Babilonului că cetatea lui este luată până la margine,
A post shall runne to meete the post, and a messenger to meete the messenger, to shew the King of Babel, that his citie is taken on a side thereof,
32 Și că trecătorile sunt astupate și trestiile le-au ars cu foc și bărbații de război sunt înspăimântați.
And that the passages are stopped, and the reedes burnt with fire, and the me of war troubled.
33 Pentru că astfel spune DOMNUL oștirilor, Dumnezeul lui Israel: Fiica Babilonului este ca o arie de vânturat, este timpul să o vântur; încă puțin și timpul secerișului ei va veni.
For thus sayth the Lord of hosts the God of Israel, the daughter of Babel is like a threshing floore: the time of her threshing is come: yet a litle while, and the time of her haruest shall come.
34 Nebucadnețar, împăratul Babilonului, m-a mâncat, m-a zdrobit, m-a făcut un vas gol, m-a înghițit ca un dragon, el și-a umplut pântecele cu desfătările mele, m-a alungat.
Nebuchad-nezzar the King of Babel hath deuoured me, and destroyed me: he hath made me an emptie vessel: he swallowed mee vp like a dragon, and filled his belly with my delicates, and hath cast me out.
35 Violența făcută mie și cărnii mele să fie asupra Babilonului, va spune locuitorul Sionului; și sângele meu asupra locuitorilor din Caldeea, va spune Ierusalimul.
The spoyle of me, and that which was left of me, is brought vnto Babel, shall the inhabitant of Zion say: and my blood vnto the inhabitantes of Caldea, shall Ierusalem say.
36 De aceea astfel spune DOMNUL: Iată, eu voi pleda cauza ta și te voi răzbuna; și îi voi usca marea și îi voi seca izvoarele.
Therefore thus sayth the Lord, Beholde, I will maintayne thy cause, and take vengeance for thee, and I will drie vp the sea, and drie vp her springes.
37 Și Babilonul va deveni ruine, o locuință pentru dragoni, o înmărmurire și o șuierare, fără locuitor.
And Babel shall be as heapes, a dwelling place for dragons, an astonishment, and an hissing, without an inhabitant.
38 Ei vor răcni împreună ca leii; vor striga ca puii de lei.
They shall rore together like lions, and yell as the lyons whelpes.
39 În înfierbântarea lor le voi face ospețe și îi voi îmbăta, ca să se bucure și să doarmă un somn continuu și să nu se trezească, spune DOMNUL.
In their heate I will make them feastes, and I wil make them drunken, that they may reioyce, and sleepe a perpetual sleepe, and not wake, sayth the Lord.
40 Îi voi coborî ca pe miei la măcel, ca pe berbeci cu țapi.
I wil bring them downe like lambes to the slaughter, and like rams and goates.
41 Cum este Șeșacul luat! Și cum este luată prin surprindere lauda întregului pământ! Cum a devenit Babilonul o înmărmurire printre națiuni!
How is Sheshach taken! and howe is the glory of the whole earth taken! how is Babel become an astonishment among the nations!
42 Marea a venit peste Babilon; el a fost acoperit de mulțimea valurilor ei.
The sea is come vp vpon Babel: he is couered with the multitude of the waues thereof.
43 Cetățile lui sunt o risipire, un pământ uscat și un pustiu, o țară în care nu trăiește nimeni, nici nu trece prin ea vreun fiu al omului.
Her cities are desolate: the land is dry and a wildernes, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth the sonne of man passe thereby.
44 Și voi pedepsi pe Bel în Babilon și voi scoate din gura lui ceea ce el a înghițit; și națiunile nu vor mai curge spre el; da, zidul Babilonului va cădea.
I wil also visite Bel in Babel, and I wil bring out of his mouth, that which he hath swallowed vp, and the nations shall runne no more vnto him, and the wall of Babel shall fall.
45 Poporul meu, ieșiți din mijlocul lui și să își scape fiecare om sufletul de mânia înverșunată a DOMNULUI.
My people, go out of the middes of her, and deliuer yee euery man his soule from the fierce wrath of the Lord,
46 Și nu cumva inima voastră să leșine și să vă temeți de zvonul care va fi auzit în țară; un zvon va veni deopotrivă într-un an și după aceasta în alt an va veni un zvon și violență va fi în țară, conducător împotriva altui conducător.
Least your heart euen faynt, and ye feare the rumour, that shalbe heard in the land: the rumour shall come this yeere, and after that in the other yeere shall come a rumour, and crueltie in the land, and ruler against ruler.
47 De aceea, iată, vin zilele, că voi face judecată asupra chipurilor cioplite ale Babilonului; și toată țara lui va fi încurcată și toți cei uciși ai lui vor cădea în mijlocul lui.
Therefore beholde, the dayes come, that I will visite the images of Babel, and the whole land shalbe confounded, and all her slayne shall fall in the middes of her.
48 Atunci cerul și pământul și tot ce este în ele vor cânta pentru Babilon, pentru că jefuitorii vor veni asupra lui de la nord, spune DOMNUL.
Then the heauen and the earth, and all that is therein, shall reioyce for Babel: for the destroyers shall come vnto her from the North, saith the Lord.
49 Precum Babilonul a făcut pe cei uciși ai lui Israel să cadă, tot astfel la Babilon vor cădea cei uciși ai întregului pământ.
As Babel caused the slaine of Israel to fal, so by Babel the slaine of all the earth did fall.
50 Voi cei care ați scăpat de sabie, plecați, nu stați nemișcați; amintiți-vă de DOMNUL de departe și Ierusalimul să urce la mintea voastră.
Ye that haue escaped the sworde, goe away, stand not still: remember the Lord a farre of, and let Ierusalem come into your minde.
51 Noi suntem încurcați deoarece am auzit ocara; rușinea ne-a acoperit fețele, pentru că străinii au intrat în sanctuarele casei DOMNULUI.
Wee are confounded because wee haue heard reproch: shame hath couered our faces, for straungers are come into the Sanctuaries of the Lordes House.
52 De aceea, iată, vin zilele, spune DOMNUL, că voi face judecată asupra chipurilor lui cioplite; și în toată țara lui cei răniți vor geme.
Wherefore behold, the dayes come, sayth the Lord, that I will visite her grauen images, and through all her land the wounded shall grone.
53 De s-ar înălța Babilonul până la cer și de și-ar întări înălțimea tăriei lui, totuși de la mine vor veni jefuitori la el, spune DOMNUL.
Though Babel should mount vp to heauen, and though shee should defend her strength on hye, yet from mee shall her destroyers come, sayth the Lord.
54 Sunetul unui strigăt vine din Babilon și mare distrugere din țara caldeenilor;
A sound of a cry commeth from Babel, and great destruction from the land of the Caldeans,
55 Pentru că DOMNUL a jefuit Babilonul și a nimicit din el acea voce mare; când valurile lui răcnesc ca niște ape mari, vuietul vocii lor este înălțat;
Because the Lord hath layde Babel waste and destroyed from her the great voyce, and her waues shall roare like great waters, and a sounde was made by their noyse:
56 Pentru că prădătorul a venit împotriva lui, împotriva Babilonului și războinicii lui sunt luați, fiecare arc al lor este frânt, pentru că DOMNUL Dumnezeul recompenselor va răsplăti negreșit.
Because the destroyer is come vpon her, euen vpon Babel, and her strong men are taken, their bowes are broken: for the Lord God that recompenceth, shall surely recompence.
57 Și îi voi îmbăta pe prinții lui și pe înțelepții lui, pe căpeteniile lui și pe conducătorii lui și pe războinicii lui; și ei vor dormi un somn veșnic și nu se vor trezi, spune Împăratul al cărui nume este DOMNUL oștirilor.
And I will make drunke her princes, and her wise men, her dukes, and her nobles, and her strong men: and they shall sleepe a perpetuall sleepe, and not wake, sayth the King, whose Name is the Lord of hostes.
58 Astfel spune DOMNUL oștirilor: Zidurile late ale Babilonului vor fi în întregime zdrobite și porțile lui înalte vor fi arse cu foc; și oamenii vor lucra în zadar și poporul va lucra în foc și vor obosi.
Thus saith the Lord of hostes, The thicke wall of Babel shalbe broken, and her hie gates shall be burnt with fire, and the people shall labour in vaine, and the folke in ye fire, for they shalbe weary.
59 Cuvântul pe care profetul Ieremia l-a poruncit lui Seraia, fiul lui Neriia fiul, lui Mahseia, când a mers cu Zedechia, împăratul lui Iuda, în Babilon în al patrulea an al domniei lui. Și acest Seraia era un prinț liniștit.
The worde which Ieremiah the Prophet commanded Sheraiah the sonne of Neriiah, the sonne of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the King of Iudah into Babel, in the fourth yeere of his reigne: and this Sheraiah was a peaceable prince.
60 Astfel Ieremia a scris într-o carte tot răul care va veni asupra Babilonului, chiar toate aceste cuvinte care sunt scrise împotriva Babilonului.
So Ieremiah wrote in a booke all the euill that should come vpon Babel: euen al these things, that are written against Babel.
61 Și Ieremia i-a spus lui Seraia: Când vei veni în Babilon și vei vedea și vei citi toate aceste cuvinte;
And Ieremiah sayd to Sheraiah, Whe thou commest vnto Babel, and shalt see, and shalt reade all these wordes,
62 Atunci să spui: DOAMNE, tu ai vorbit împotriva acestui loc, pentru a-l stârpi, ca nimeni să nu rămână în el, nici om nici animal, ci acesta să fie pustiit pentru totdeauna.
Then shalt thou say, O Lord, thou hast spoken against this place, to destroy it, that none should remaine in it, neither man nor beast, but that it should be desolate for euer.
63 Și va fi așa: când vei termina de citit această carte, să legi de ea o piatră și să o arunci în mijlocul Eufratului;
And when thou hast made an ende of reading this booke, thou shalt binde a stone to it, and cast it in the middes of Euphrates,
64 Și să spui: Astfel se va scufunda Babilonul și nu se va ridica din răul pe care îl voi aduce asupra lui; și vor obosi. Până aici sunt cuvintele lui Ieremia.
And shalt say, Thus shall Babel be drowned, and shall not rise from the euil, that I will bring vpon her: and they shall be weary. Thus farre are the wordes of Ieremiah.
