Isaia 60

1 Ridică-te, străluceşte, căci lumina ta a venit şi gloria DOMNULUI a răsărit peste tine.

Be enlightened, be enlightened, O Jerusalem, for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

2 Căci, iată, întunericul va acoperi pământul şi întunericul gros poporul; dar DOMNUL va răsări peste tine şi gloria lui va fi văzută peste tine.

Behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and [there shall be] gross darkness on the nations: but the Lord shall appear upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

3 Şi neamurile vor veni la lumina ta şi împăraţii la strălucirea răsăritului tău.

And kings shall walk in thy light, and nations in thy brightness.

4 Ridică-ţi ochii de jur împrejur şi priveşte, toţi se adună împreună, ei vin la tine, fiii tăi vor veni de departe şi fetele tale vor fi îngrijite lângă tine.

Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold thy children gathered: all thy sons have come from far, and thy daughters shall be borne on [men's] shoulders.

5 Atunci vei vedea şi vei curge de bucurie şi inima ta se va teme şi se va lărgi; deoarece plinătatea mării se va întoarce spre tine, forţele neamurilor vor veni la tine.

Then shalt thou see, and fear, and be amazed in thine heart; for the wealth of the sea shall come round to thee, and of nations and peoples; and herds of camels shall come to thee,

6 Mulţimea cămilelor te va acoperi, dromaderii din Madian şi Efa; toţi cei din Seba vor veni, vor aduce aur şi tămâie; şi vor vesti laudele DOMNULUI.

and the camels of Madiam and Gaepha shall cover thee: all from Saba shall come bearing gold, and shall bring frankincense, and they shall publish the salvation of the Lord.

7 Toate turmele Chedarului se vor aduna la tine, berbecii Nebaiotului îţi vor servi, se vor urca pe altarul meu şi vor fi bine primiţi, iar casa gloriei mele eu o voi glorifica.

And all the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered, and the rams of Nabaeoth shall come; and acceptable sacrifices shall be offered on my altar, and my house of prayer shall be glorified.

8 Cine sunt aceştia care zboară ca un nor şi ca porumbeii la porumbarele lor?

Who are these [that] fly as clouds, and as doves with young ones to me?

9 Da, insulele mă vor aştepta şi mai întâi [vor fi] corăbiile din Tarsis, pentru a aduce pe fiii tăi de departe, argintul şi aurul lor cu ei, pentru numele DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău şi al Celui Sfânt al lui Israel, deoarece el te-a glorificat.

The isles have waited for me, and the ships of Tharsis among the first, to bring thy children from afar, and their silver and their gold with them, and [that] for the sake of the holy name of the Lord, and because the Holy One of Israel is glorified.

10 Şi fiii străinilor vor construi zidurile tale şi împăraţii lor îţi vor servi, căci în furia mea te-am lovit, dar în bunăvoinţa mea am avut milă de tine.

And strangers shall build thy walls, and their kings shall wait upon thee: for by reason of my wrath I smote thee, and by reason of mercy I loved thee.

11 De aceea porţile tale vor fi deschise totdeauna; nu vor fi închise nici ziua, nici noaptea; ca să se aducă la tine tăriile neamurilor şi să fie aduşi împăraţii lor.

And thy gates shall be opened continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; to bring in to thee the power of the Gentiles, and their kings as captives.

12 Fiindcă naţiunea şi împărăţia care nu îţi va servi, va pieri; da, acele naţiuni vor fi în întregime risipite.

For the nations and the kings which will not serve thee shall perish; and those nations shall be made utterly desolate.

13 Gloria Libanului va veni la tine, bradul, pinul şi merişorul împreună, pentru a înfrumuseţa locul sanctuarului meu; şi voi face glorios locul picioarelor mele.

And the glory of Libanus shall come to thee, with the cypress, and pine, and cedar together, to glorify my holy place.

14 De asemenea fiii celor care te-au chinuit vor veni, plecându-se înaintea ta; şi toţi cei ce te-au dispreţuit se vor prosterna la tălpile picioarelor tale; şi te vor numi: Cetatea DOMNULUI, Sionul Celui Sfânt al lui Israel.

And the sons of them that afflicted thee, and of them that provoked thee, shall come to thee in fear; and thou shalt be called Sion, the city of the Holy One of Israel.

15 Deşi ai fost părăsită şi urâtă, astfel încât nimeni nu a trecut prin tine, te voi face o maiestate eternă, o bucurie a multor generaţii.

Because thou has become desolate and hated, and there was no helper, therefore I will make thee a perpetual gladness, a joy of many generations.

16 De asemenea vei suge laptele neamurilor şi vei suge sânul împăraţilor şi vei cunoaşte că eu, DOMNUL, sunt salvatorul tău şi Răscumpărătorul tău, Cel puternic al lui Iacob.

And thou shalt suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt eat the wealth of kings: and shalt know that I am the Lord that saves thee and delivers thee, the Holy One of Israel.

17 Pentru aramă eu voi aduce aur, şi pentru aur voi aduce argint, şi pentru lemn, aramă, şi pentru pietre, fier; de asemenea voi face pe ofiţerii tăi pace şi pe colectorii de taxe, dreptate.

And for brass I will bring thee gold, and for iron I will bring thee silver, and instead of wood I will bring thee brass, and instead of stones, iron; and I will make thy princes peaceable, and thine overseers righteous.

18 Violenţă nu va mai fi auzită în ţara ta, nici risipire nici distrugere între graniţele tale; dar tu vei numi zidurile tale Salvare, şi porţile tale Laudă.

And injustice shall no more be heard in thy land, nor destruction nor misery in thy coasts; but thy walls shall be called Salvation, and thy gates Sculptured Work.

19 Soarele nu îți va mai da lumina ziua, nici luna nu îți va da lumina prin strălucire, ci DOMNUL îţi va fi o lumină veşnică, şi Dumnezeul tău, gloria ta.

And thou shalt no more have the sun for a light by day, nor shall the rising of the moon lighten thy night; but the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and God thy glory.

20 Soarele tău nu va mai apune; nici luna ta nu se va retrage, fiindcă DOMNUL va fi a ta veşnică lumină şi zilele jelirii tale se vor sfârşi.

For the sun shall no more set, nor shall the moon be eclipsed; for the Lord shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be completed.

21 Poporul tău de asemenea, ei toţi vor fi drepţi, vor moşteni ţara pentru totdeauna, lăstarul sădirii mele, lucrarea mâinilor mele, ca eu să fiu glorificat.

Thy people also shall be all righteous; they shall inherit the land for ever, preserving that which they have planted, [even] the works of their hands, for glory.

22 Puţinul va deveni o mie şi unul tânăr o naţiune tare; eu, DOMNUL, voi grăbi aceasta la timpul ei.

The little one shall become thousands, and the least a great nation; I the Lord will gather them in [due] time.
