Isaia 46
1 Bel se îndoaie, Nebo se apleacă, idolii lor au fost puşi pe animale şi pe vite; căruţele voastre au fost greu încărcate; ele sunt o povară pentru vita obosită.
Bel is bowed down, Nebo bendeth; their idols are upon the beasts, and upon the cattle: the things ye carried are laid on, a burden to the weary [beast].
2 Ei se apleacă, se îndoaie împreună; nu pot salva povara, ci ei înşişi sunt duşi în captivitate.
They bend, they are bowed down together; they could not deliver the burden, and themselves are gone into captivity.
3 Dă-mi ascultare, casă a lui Iacob şi toată rămăşiţa casei lui Israel, voi cei duşi de mine de la naştere şi purtaţi din pântece,
Hearken unto me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, ye who have been borne from the belly, who have been carried from the womb:
4 Şi chiar până la bătrâneţea voastră eu sunt el; şi până la peri albi vă voi purta, eu v-am făcut şi vă voi susţine; chiar eu vă voi purta şi vă voi salva.
Even to old age, I [am] HE, and unto hoary hairs I will carry [you]: It is I that have made, and I will bear, and I will carry, and will deliver.
5 Cu cine mă veţi asemăna şi mă veţi face egal şi mă veţi compara, pentru a fi asemănători?
To whom will ye liken me and make me equal, or compare me, that we may be like?
6 Varsă mult aur din pungă şi cântăresc argint în balanţă şi angajează un aurar; iar el îl face un dumnezeu, ei se pleacă, da, se închină.
— They lavish gold out of the bag, and weigh silver in the balance; they hire a goldsmith, and he maketh it a god: they fall down, yea, they worship.
7 Îl poartă pe umăr, îl duc şi îl aşază la locul lui şi el stă acolo; din locul lui nu se va mişca, da, cineva va striga la el, totuşi nu îi poate răspunde, nici să îl salveze din tulburarea lui.
They bear him on the shoulder, they carry him, and set him in his place; there he standeth, he doth not remove from his place: yea, one crieth unto him, and he answereth not; he saveth him not out of his trouble.
8 Amintiţi-vă aceasta şi arătaţi-vă bărbaţi; aduceţi-vă din nou aminte voi călcătorilor [de lege].
Remember this, and shew yourselves men; call it to mind, ye transgressors.
9 Amintiţi-vă lucrurile din vechime, fiindcă eu sunt Dumnezeu şi nu este altul; eu sunt Dumnezeu şi nu este nimeni ca mine,
Remember the former things of old; for I [am] God, and there is none else; [I am] God, and there is none like me;
10 Vestind sfârşitul de la început şi din vechime lucrurile care nu sunt încă făcute, spunând: Sfatul meu va sta în picioare şi voi împlini toată plăcerea mea;
declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure;
11 Chemând o pasăre răpitoare din est, pe bărbatul care împlineşte sfatul meu dintr-o ţară îndepărtată; da, am vorbit aceasta, şi o voi face să se întâmple; am hotărât şi voi împlini.
calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. Yea, I have spoken, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.
12 Daţi-mi ascultare, voi cei cu inimă tare, care sunteţi departe de dreptate;
Hearken unto me, ye stout-hearted, that are far from righteousness:
13 Eu apropii dreptatea mea; nu va fi departe şi salvarea mea nu va întârzia; şi voi pune salvare în Sion pentru Israel, gloria mea.
I bring near my righteousness; it shall not be far off, and my salvation shall not delay; and I will give salvation in Zion, [and] unto Israel my glory.
