Isaia 39
1 În acel timp, Merodac-Baladan, fiul lui Baladan, împăratul Babilonului, a trimis scrisori şi un dar lui Ezechia, fiindcă auzise că fusese bolnav şi s-a însănătoşit.
At that time, Merodach-baladan son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah, —for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick, and had recovered.
2 Şi Ezechia s-a veselit pentru ele şi le-a arătat casa lucrurilor lui preţioase, argintul şi aurul şi mirodeniile şi untdelemnul preţios şi toată casa armelor lui şi tot ceea ce s-a găsit în tezaurele lui, nu a fost nimic în casa lui, nici în tot locul stăpânirii lui, ce Ezechia să nu le arate.
And Hezekiah, rejoiced over them, and showed them his house of precious things—the silver and the gold and the spices and the precious ointment and all his armoury—and all that was found among his treasures, —there was nothing, which Hezekiah, did not show them—in his house or in all his dominion.
3 Atunci profetul Isaia a venit la împăratul Ezechia şi i-a spus: Ce au spus aceşti bărbaţi? Şi de unde au venit ei la tine? Şi Ezechia a spus: Au venit la mine dintr-o ţară îndepărtată, din Babilon.
Then came Isaiah the prophet, unto King Hezekiah, —and said unto him—What said these men? and whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, From a land far away, came they unto me, from Babylon!
4 Atunci el a spus: Ce au văzut în casa ta? Şi Ezechia a răspuns: Au văzut tot ce este în casa mea, nu este nimic dintre tezaurele mele pe care să nu le fi arătat.
And he said, What have they seen in thy house? Then said Hezekiah, —All that is in my house, have they seen, there is nothing which I shewed them not among my treasures.
5 Atunci Isaia a spus lui Ezechia: Ascultă cuvântul DOMNULUI oştirilor:
Then said Isaiah unto Hezekiah, —Hear thou the word of Yahweh of hosts:
6 Iată, vin zilele, că tot ce este în casa ta şi tot [ce] părinţii tăi au pus în tezaure până în această zi, va fi dus în Babilon, nimic nu va fi lăsat, spune DOMNUL.
Lo! days are coming, when all that is in thy house, and that which thy fathers have treasured up until this day, shall be carried away unto Babylon, —nothing, shall be left, Saith Yahweh.
7 Şi vor lua dintre fiii tăi care vor ieşi din tine, pe care îi vei naşte, şi vor fi fameni în palatul împăratului Babilonului.
And of thy sons who shall issue from thee whom thou shalt beget, shall they take away, —and they shall become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.
8 Atunci Ezechia a spus lui Isaia: Bun este cuvântul DOMNULUI pe care l-ai spus. El a mai spus: Căci va fi pace şi adevăr în zilele mele.
And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, Good is the word of Yahweh, which thou hast spoken. And he said, Surely, there shall be peace and stability in my days.
