Isaia 37
1 Şi s-a întâmplat, când împăratul Ezechia a auzit aceasta, că şi-a sfâşiat hainele şi s-a acoperit cu pânză de sac şi a intrat în casa DOMNULUI.
When king Hezekiah sh'ma ·heard obeyed· it, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and went into Adonai’s house.
2 Şi a trimis pe Eliachim, care era peste casă şi pe Şebna, scribul, şi pe bătrânii preoţilor, acoperiţi cu pânză de sac, la profetul Isaia, fiul lui Amoţ.
He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah [Salvation of Yah] the prophet, the son of Amoz.
3 Şi ei i-au spus: Astfel spune Ezechia: Această zi este o zi de tulburare şi de mustrare şi de blasfemie, deoarece copiii au ajuns la naştere şi nu este putere pentru a naşte.
They said to him, “Thus says Hezekiah, ‘Today is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the birth, and there is no strength to give birth.
4 Poate că DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău va auzi cuvintele lui Rabşache, pe care l-a trimis împăratul Asiriei, stăpânul său, să ocărască pe Dumnezeul cel viu; şi va mustra cuvintele pe care DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău le-a auzit; de aceea înalţă rugăciunea ta pentru rămăşiţa care a rămas.
It may be Adonai your God will sh'ma ·hear obey· the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria [Level plain] his master has sent to defy the Elohim Chayim [Living God], and will rebuke the words which Adonai your God has sh'ma ·heard obeyed·. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’”
5 Astfel servitorii împăratului Ezechia au venit la Isaia.
So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah [Salvation of Yah].
6 Şi Isaia le-a spus: Astfel să spuneţi stăpânului vostru: Astfel spune DOMNUL: Nu te teme de cuvintele pe care le-ai auzit, cu care servitorii împăratului Asiriei m-au blasfemiat.
Isaiah [Salvation of Yah] said to them, “Tell your master, ‘Adonai says, “Don’t be afraid of the words that you have sh'ma ·heard obeyed·, with which the servants of the king of Assyria [Level plain] have blasphemed me.
7 Iată, voi trimite o pufnire peste el şi va auzi un zvon şi se va întoarce în ţara sa; şi îl voi face să cadă prin sabie în ţara sa.
Behold, I will put a spirit in him and he will sh'ma ·hear obey· news, and will teshuvah ·completely return· to his own land. I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”’”
8 Astfel, Rabşache s-a întors şi l-a găsit pe împăratul Asiriei războindu-se împotriva Libnei, pentru că auzise că plecase din Lachis.
So Rabshakeh make teshuvah ·complete return·, and found the king of Assyria [Level plain] warring against Libnah, for he had sh'ma ·heard obeyed· that he was departed from Lachish.
9 Şi a auzit spunând referitor la Tirhaca, împăratul Etiopiei: A ieşit să facă război cu tine. Şi când a auzit, a trimis mesageri la Ezechia, spunând:
He sh'ma ·heard obeyed· news concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, “He has come out to fight against you.” When he sh'ma ·heard obeyed· it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
10 Astfel să vorbiţi lui Ezechia, împăratul lui Iuda, spunând: Să nu te înşele Dumnezeul tău în care te încrezi, spunând: Ierusalimul nu va fi dat în mâna împăratului Asiriei.
“Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah [Praised], saying, ‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, “Jerusalem [City of peace] won’t be given into the hand of the king of Assyria [Level plain].”
11 Iată, ai auzit ce au făcut împăraţii Asiriei tuturor ţărilor, distrugându-le în întregime; şi vei fi tu scăpat?
Behold, you have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· what the kings of Assyria [Level plain] have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly. Shall you be delivered?
12 I-au scăpat dumnezeii naţiunilor pe cei pe care i-au nimicit părinţii mei, precum Gozanul şi Haranul şi Reţeful şi pe copiii Edenului care erau în Telasar?
Have the deities of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, Haran [Mountaineer], Rezeph, and the children of Eden who were in Telassar?
13 Unde este împăratul Hamatului şi împăratul Arpadului şi împăratul cetăţii lui Sefarvaim, Henei şi Ivei?
Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?’”
14 Şi Ezechia a primit scrisoarea din mâna mesagerilor şi a citit-o; şi Ezechia s-a urcat la casa DOMNULUI şi a întins-o înaintea DOMNULUI.
Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to Adonai’s house, and spread it before Adonai.
15 Şi Ezechia s-a rugat către DOMNUL, spunând:
Hezekiah prayed to Adonai, saying,
16 DOAMNE al oştirilor, Dumnezeul lui Israel, tu care locuieşti între heruvimi, tu, numai tu, eşti Dumnezeu al tuturor împărăţiilor pământului, tu ai făcut cerul şi pământul.
“Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], the God of Israel [God prevails], who is enthroned among the cherubim, you are the God, even you alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.
17 Pleacă-ţi urechea, DOAMNE, şi ascultă; deschide-ţi ochii, DOAMNE, şi vezi, şi ascultă toate cuvintele lui Sanherib, care a trimis să ocărască pe Dumnezeul cel viu.
Turn your ear, Adonai, and sh'ma ·hear obey·. Open your eyes, Adonai, and behold. Sh'ma ·Hear obey· all of the words of Sennacherib, who has sent to defy the Elohim Chayim [Living God].
18 În adevăr, DOAMNE, împăraţii Asiriei au risipit toate naţiunile şi ţările lor,
Truly, Adonai, the kings of Assyria [Level plain] have destroyed all the countries and their land,
19 Şi au aruncat dumnezeii lor în foc, fiindcă ei nu erau dumnezei, ci lucrarea mâinilor oamenilor, lemn şi piatră, de aceea i-au nimicit.
and have cast their deities into the fire; for they were no elohim ·deities, judges·, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone; therefore they have destroyed them.
20 Acum, DOAMNE Dumnezeul nostru, salvează-ne din mâna lui, ca să cunoască toate împărăţiile pământului că tu, numai tu eşti DOMNUL.
Now therefore, Yahweh Eloheikhem [Yahweh our God], save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are Adonai, even you only.”
21 Atunci Isaia, fiul lui Amoţ, a trimis la Ezechia, spunând: Astfel spune DOMNUL Dumnezeul lui Israel: Pentru că te-ai rugat către mine împotriva lui Sanherib, împăratul Asiriei,
Then Isaiah [Salvation of Yah] the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, “Yahweh, Elohim Isra'el [He sustains breathing, God of God prevails] says, ‘Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria [Level plain],
22 Acesta este cuvântul pe care DOMNUL l-a spus referitor la el: Fecioara, fiica Sionului, te-a dispreţuit [şi] a râs de tine în batjocură; fiica Ierusalimului şi-a scuturat capul spre tine.
this is the word which Adonai has spoken concerning him. The virgin daughter of Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking] has despised you and ridiculed you. The daughter of Jerusalem [City of peace] has shaken her head at you.
23 Pe cine ai ocărât şi ai blasfemiat tu? Şi împotriva cui ţi-ai înălţat vocea şi ţi-ai ridicat ochii în înalt? Împotriva Celui Sfânt al lui Israel.
Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against haKadosh Isra'el [the Holy One of God prevails].
24 Prin servitorii tăi ai ocărât pe Domnul şi ai spus: Prin mulţimea carelor mele m-am urcat pe înălţimea munţilor, pe coastele Libanului; şi voi reteza cedrii înalţi ai acestuia şi brazii săi cei aleşi; şi voi intra în înălţimea graniţei lui [şi] în pădurea Carmelului său.
By your servants, have you defied 'Adonay [Lord], and have said, “With the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon. I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice cypress trees. I will enter into its farthest height, the forest of its fruitful field.
25 Am săpat şi am băut apă; şi cu talpa picioarelor mele am secat toate râurile locurilor asediate.
I have dug and drunk water, and with the sole of my feet I will dry up all the rivers of Egypt [Abode of slavery].”
26 Nu ai auzit tu că de demult am făcut aceasta, şi că din timpuri vechi am întocmit-o? Acum am împlinit-o, ca tu să risipeşti cetăţi apărate în mormane de ruine.
Have you not sh'ma ·heard obeyed· how I have done it long ago, and formed it in ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to destroy fortified cities, turning them into ruinous heaps.
27 De aceea locuitorii lor au avut mică putere, au fost descurajaţi şi încurcaţi, au fost ca iarba câmpului şi ca planta verde, ca iarba de pe acoperişurile caselor şi ca grâne prăjite înainte să fi crescut.
Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field, and like the green herb, like the grass on the housetops, and like a field before its crop has grown.
28 Dar îţi cunosc locuinţa şi ieşirea şi intrarea şi furia împotriva mea.
But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.
29 Deoarece furia ta împotriva mea şi tumultul tău s-au ridicat la urechile mele, de aceea voi pune cârligul meu în nasul tău şi frâul meu în buzele tale şi te voi întoarce pe calea pe care ai venit.
Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore will I put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.
30 Şi acesta îţi va fi semn: Veţi mânca în acest an ceea ce creşte de la sine; şi în al doilea an ceea ce răsare din acestea, şi în al treilea an să semănaţi şi să seceraţi şi să sădiţi vii şi să mâncaţi din rodul lor.
This shall be the sign to you. You will eat this year that which grows of itself, and in the second year that which springs from the same; and in the third year sow and reap and plant vineyards, and eat their fruit.
31 Şi rămăşiţa care a scăpat din casa lui Iuda va prinde din nou rădăcină în jos şi va avea rod în sus,
The remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah [Praised] will again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
32 Fiindcă din Ierusalim va ieşi o rămăşiţă şi din muntele Sion cei care vor scăpa, zelul DOMNULUI oştirilor va face aceasta.
For out of Jerusalem [City of peace] a remnant will go out, and survivors will escape from Mount Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking]. The zeal of Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] will perform this.’
33 De aceea, astfel spune DOMNUL referitor la împăratul Asiriei: El nu va intra în această cetate, nici nu va trage vreo săgeată acolo, nici nu va veni înaintea ei cu scuturi, nici nu va ridica întăritură împotriva ei.
Therefore Adonai says concerning the king of Assyria [Level plain], ‘He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither will he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.
34 Pe calea pe care a venit, pe aceeaşi se va întoarce şi nu va intra în această cetate, spune DOMNUL.
By the way that he came, by the same he shall teshuvah ·completely return·, and he shall not come to this city,’ says Adonai.
35 Fiindcă eu voi apăra această cetate pentru a o salva pentru mine şi pentru servitorul meu David.
‘For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake, and for my servant David [Beloved]’s sake.’”
36 Atunci îngerul DOMNULUI a ieşit şi a lovit în tabăra asirienilor o sută optzeci şi cinci de mii; şi când s-au ridicat devreme dimineaţa, iată, toţi erau trupuri moarte.
Ha mal'ak Yahweh [The Angel of He sustains breathing] went out and struck one hundred and eighty-five thousand men in the camp of the Assyrians. When men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.
37 Astfel Sanherib, împăratul Asiriei, a plecat şi a mers şi s-a întors şi a locuit la Ninive.
So Sennacherib king of Assyria [Level plain] departed, went away, teshuvah ·completely returned· to Nineveh [Offspring’s Habitation], and stayed there.
38 Şi s-a întâmplat, pe când el se închina în casa lui Nisroc, dumnezeul său, că Adramelec şi Şareţer, fiii săi, l-au lovit cu sabia; şi au scăpat în ţara Armeniei, şi Esar-Hadon, fiul său, a domnit în locul lui.
As he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his deity, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.
