Isaia 34
1 Apropiaţi-vă naţiunilor, să ascultaţi; şi daţi ascultare popoarelor; să asculte pământul şi tot ce este pe el, lumea şi toate lucrurile care ies din ea.
Come near, you nations, to hear, And you peoples, give attention, The earth and its fullness hear, The world, and all its productions.
2 Căci indignarea DOMNULUI este peste toate naţiunile şi furia lui peste toate armatele lor, el le-a nimicit în întregime, le-a dat măcelului.
For to YHWH [is] wrath against all the nations, And fury against all their host, He has devoted them to destruction, He has given them to slaughter.
3 Şi cei ucişi ai lor vor fi lepădaţi şi putoarea lor va urca din trupurile lor moarte şi munţii se vor topi de sângele lor.
And their wounded are cast out, And their carcasses cause their stench to ascend, And mountains have been melted from their blood.
4 Şi toată oştirea cerului se va dizolva şi cerurile se vor răsuci ca un sul şi toată oştirea lor va cădea precum frunza cade de pe viţă şi ca o [smochină] care cade din smochin.
And all the host of the heavens have been consumed, And the heavens have been rolled together as a scroll, And all their hosts fade, As the fading of a leaf of a vine, And as the fading one of a fig tree.
5 Fiindcă sabia mea va fi îmbăiată, în cer; iată, va coborî asupra Idumeei şi asupra poporului blestemului meu, la judecată.
For My sword was soaked in the heavens, Behold, it comes down on Edom, On the people of My curse for judgment.
6 Sabia DOMNULUI este umplută cu sânge, este îngrăşată cu grăsime [şi] cu sângele mieilor şi caprelor, cu grăsimea rinichilor berbecilor, fiindcă DOMNUL are un sacrificiu în Boţra şi un mare măcel în ţara Idumeei.
A sword [is] to YHWH—it has been full of blood, It has been made fat with fatness, With blood of lambs and male goats. With fat of kidneys of rams, For to YHWH [is] a sacrifice in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
7 Şi unicornii vor coborî cu ei şi tăuraşii cu taurii; şi ţara lor va fi înmuiată cu sânge şi ţărâna lor îngrăşată cu grăsime.
And reems have come down with them, And bullocks with bulls, And their land has been soaked from blood, And their dust is made fat from fatness.
8 Fiindcă este ziua răzbunării DOMNULUI [şi] anul răsplăţilor pentru cearta Sionului.
(For a day of vengeance [is] to YHWH, A year of recompenses for Zion’s strife),
9 Şi pâraiele acesteia vor fi prefăcute în smoală şi ţărâna acesteia în pucioasă şi ţara acestuia va deveni smoală încinsă.
And her streams have been turned to pitch, And her dust to brimstone, And her land has become burning pitch.
10 Nu va fi stinsă nici noapte, nici zi; fumul acesteia se va înălţa pentru totdeauna, din generaţie în generaţie va sta risipită; nimeni nu va trece prin ea pentru totdeauna şi întotdeauna.
She is not quenched by night and by day, Her smoke goes up for all time, She is desolate from generation to generation, Forever and ever, none is passing into her.
11 Ci cormoranul şi şoimul o vor stăpâni; de asemenea bufniţa şi corbul vor locui în ea şi va întinde peste ea frânghia încurcăturii şi pietrele goliciunii.
And pelican and hedgehog possess her, And owl and raven dwell in her, And He has stretched out over her A line of vacancy, and stones of emptiness.
12 Vor chema pe nobilii acesteia la împărăţie, dar nimeni nu va fi acolo şi toţi prinţii ei vor fi nimic.
They call her nobles [to] the kingdom, But there are none there, And all her princes are at an end.
13 Şi spini vor ieşi în palatele ei, urzici şi mărăcini în fortăreţele acesteia; şi va fi locuinţă dragonilor [şi] o curte pentru bufniţe.
And thorns have gone up her palaces, Nettle and bramble [are] in her fortresses, And it has been a habitation of dragons, A court for daughters of an ostrich.
14 Fiarele sălbatice ale deşertului se vor întâlni de asemenea cu fiarele sălbatice ale insulei şi satirul va striga tovarăşului său; striga se va odihni de asemenea acolo şi îşi va găsi un loc de odihnă.
And desert-dwellers have met with howlers, And the goat calls for its companion, Surely the night-owl has rested there, And has found a place of rest for herself.
15 Acolo bufniţa mare îşi va face cuibul şi va oua şi va avea pui şi va aduna sub umbra ei, acolo de asemenea vulturii se vor aduna fiecare cu perechea sa.
The owl has made her nest there, Indeed, she lays, and has hatched, And has gathered under her shadow, Surely vultures have been gathered there, Each with its companion.
16 Căutaţi în cartea DOMNULUI şi citiţi, niciuna dintre acestea nu va greşi, niciuneia nu îi va lipsi perechea, căci gura mea a poruncit, şi duhul său le-a adunat.
Seek out of the scroll of YHWH, and read, One of these has not been lacking, None has missed its companion, For My mouth—it has commanded, And His Spirit—He has gathered them.
17 Şi a aruncat sorţul pentru ei şi mâna lui le-a împărţit cu o frânghie; o vor stăpâni pentru totdeauna, din generaţie în generaţie vor locui în ea.
And He has cast a lot for them, And His hand has apportioned [it] to them by line, They possess it for all time, They dwell in it from generation to generation!
