Isaia 3
1 Căci, iată, Domnul, DOMNUL oştirilor, îndepărtează de Ierusalim şi de Iuda susţinerea şi toiagul, întreaga susţinere a pâinii şi întreaga susţinere a apei,
For, behold, the Lord, the Eternal of hosts, doth remove from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, every stay of bread, and every stay of water.
2 Pe cel viteaz şi pe bărbatul de război, pe judecător şi pe profet şi pe chibzuit şi pe bătrân,
The hero, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
3 Pe căpetenia a cincizeci şi pe omul demn de cinste şi pe sfătuitor şi pe meşteşugarul iscusit şi pe oratorul elocvent.
The captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counsellor, and the skilful artificer, and the eloquent orator.
4 Şi le voi da copii ca prinţi şi prunci vor stăpâni peste ei.
And I will set up boys as their princes, and children shall rule over them.
5 Şi poporul va fi oprimat, fiecare de un altul şi fiecare de vecinul lui; copilul se va comporta cu mândrie împotriva celui bătrân şi cel josnic împotriva celui demn de cinste.
And so shall the people press man against man, and one against the other: the boy shall demean himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honorable.
6 Când un om va apuca pe fratele său, din casa tatălui său, îi va spune: Ai îmbrăcăminte, fii conducătorul nostru şi fie această ruină sub mâna ta;
When a man will seize hold on his brother in the house of his father, [saying, ] Thou hast a garment, thou shalt be our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
7 În acea zi el va jura, spunând: Nu voi fi vindecător, căci în casa mea nu este nici pâine, nici îmbrăcăminte, nu mă face conducător al poporului.
He will swear on that day, saying, I will not be a chief; and in my house is neither bread nor clothing; you shall not appoint me a ruler of the people.
8 Fiindcă Ierusalimul este ruinat şi Iuda este căzut, căci limba lor şi facerile lor sunt împotriva DOMNULUI, pentru a provoca ochii gloriei lui.
For Jerusalem is sunk to decay, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to incense the eyes of his glory.
9 Arătarea înfăţişării lor mărturiseşte împotriva lor; şi ei rostesc păcatul ca Sodoma, nu îl ascund. Vai sufletului lor! căci şi-au făcut rău lor înşişi.
The boldness of their face testifieth against them; and like Sodom they tell openly their sin, they conceal it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have prepared evil unto themselves.
10 Spuneţi-i celui drept, că îi va fi bine, căci ei vor mânca rodul facerilor lor.
Say ye to the righteous, that he hath done well; for the fruit of their doings shall they eat.
11 Vai celui stricat! îi va fi rău, căci i se va da răsplata mâinilor lui.
Woe unto the wicked who doeth evil; for the recompense of his hands shall be bestowed on him.
12 Cât despre poporul meu, copiii sunt opresorii lor şi femei conduc peste ei. Poporul meu, cei ce te conduc te fac să rătăceşti şi distrug calea potecilor tale.
My people! their oppressors are children, and women rule over them. O my people! thy leaders cause thee to err, and the direction of thy paths they corrupt.
13 DOMNUL se ridică în picioare să pledeze şi stă în picioare să judece poporul.
The Lord is stepped forth to plead, and standeth up to judge the people.
14 DOMNUL va intra la judecată cu bătrânii poporului său şi cu prinţii acestuia, căci aţi mâncat via; prada săracului este în casele voastre.
The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and their princes; but ye—ye have eaten up the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses.
15 Ce înseamnă aceasta că îmi zdrobiţi poporul în bucăţi şi măcinaţi feţele săracilor? spune Domnul DUMNEZEUL oştirilor.
What mean ye that ye crush my people, and grind down the faces of the poor? saith the Lord the Eternal of hosts.
16 Mai mult, DOMNUL spune: Pentru că fiicele Sionului sunt trufaşe şi umblă cu gâturi întinse şi ochi depravaţi, umblând şi păşind mărunţel în mersul lor şi zornăind cu picioarele lor,
And the Lord said, Forasmuch as the daughters of Zion are proud, and walk with stretched forth necks and casting about their eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
17 De aceea Domnul va lovi cu râie coroana capului fiicelor Sionului şi DOMNUL va dezgoli părţile lor intime.
Therefore will the Lord smite with leprosy the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will lay open their nakedness.
18 În acea zi Domnul va lua frumuseţea podoabelor lor zornăitoare de la picioarele lor şi învelitorile lor şi tiarele lor rotunde ca luna.
On that day will the Lord take away the beauty of their tinkling shoe-buckles, and the hair-nets, and the crescent-shaped ornaments,
19 Lanţurile şi brăţările şi eşarfele,
The drops, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
20 Bonetele şi podoabele pentru picioare şi panglicile pentru cap şi tablele şi cerceii,
The bonnets, and the foot-chains, and the head-bands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
21 Inelele şi bijuteriile pentru nas,
The finger-rings, and nose-jewels,
22 Costumele preţioase de haine şi mantiile şi şalurile şi ondulatoarele,
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the shawls, and the pockets.
23 Oglinzile şi inul subţire şi glugile şi vălurile.
The mirrors, and the chemisettes, and the turbans, and the long vails.
24 Şi se va întâmpla, că în loc de miros dulce va fi putoare; şi în loc de brâu, o sfâşietură; şi în loc de păr bine aranjat, o chelie; şi în loc de corsaj, un brâu de pânză de sac; şi un semn de înfierare în loc de frumuseţe.
And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be corruption; and instead of a girdle a rope; and instead of curled hair baldness; and instead of a wide garment a girding of sackcloth, a mark of burning instead of beauty.
25 Bărbaţii tăi vor cădea prin sabie şi puternicii tăi în război.
Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty ones in the war.
26 Şi porţile ei vor plânge şi vor jeli; şi ea, pustiită, va şedea la pământ.
And then shall her gates lament and mourn; and stript of all shall she sit upon the ground.
