Isaia 25
1 DOAMNE, tu eşti Dumnezeul meu; te voi înălţa, voi lăuda numele tău, căci ai făcut lucruri minunate; sfaturile tale din vechime sunt credincioşie şi adevăr.
O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things, [even] counsels of old, in faithfulness [and] truth.
2 Fiindcă dintr-o cetate ai făcut o movilă; dintr-o cetate apărată, o ruină, un palat al străinilor să nu mai fie cetate; nu va fi niciodată construită.
For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.
3 De aceea poporul cel tare te va glorifica, cetatea naţiunilor tirane se va teme de tine.
Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.
4 Fiindcă ai fost putere pentru sărac, putere pentru nevoiaş în strâmtorarea lui, şi un loc de scăpare împotriva furtunii, umbră în faţa căldurii, când explozia tiranilor este ca o furtună împotriva zidului.
For thou hast been a strong hold to the poor, a strong hold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
5 Vei înjosi zgomotul străinilor, precum căldura într-un loc uscat; căldura împreună cu umbra unui nor; ramura tiranilor va fi umilită.
As the heat in a dry place shalt thou bring down the noise of strangers; as the heat by the shadow of a cloud, the song of the terrible ones shall be brought low.
6 Şi în acest munte DOMNUL oştirilor va face tuturor popoarelor un ospăţ al lucrurilor grase, un ospăţ al vinurilor pe drojdii, al lucrurilor grase pline de măduvă, al vinurilor pe drojdii bine rafinate.
And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
7 Şi el va distruge în acest munte faţa acoperitorii aruncată peste toate popoarele şi vălul întins peste toate naţiunile.
And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering that is cast over all peoples, and the veil that is spread over all nations.
8 El va înghiţi moartea în victorie; şi Domnul DUMNEZEU va şterge lacrimile de pe toate feţele; şi mustrarea poporului său o va lua de pe tot pământul, fiindcă DOMNUL a vorbit.
He hath swallowed up death for ever; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the reproach of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
9 Şi se va spune în acea zi: Iată, acesta este Dumnezeul nostru; noi l-am aşteptat şi el ne va salva, acesta este DOMNUL; l-am aşteptat, ne vom veseli şi ne vom bucura în salvarea lui.
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
10 Fiindcă în acest munte se va odihni mâna DOMNULUI şi Moab va fi călcat sub el, precum paiele sunt călcate pentru mormanul de balegă.
For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down in his place, even as straw is trodden down in the water of the dunghill.
11 Şi îşi va întinde înainte mâinile sale în mijlocul lor, precum cel care înoată îşi întinde înainte mâinile pentru a înota şi va înjosi mândria lor împreună cu prăzile mâinilor lor.
And he shall spread forth his hands in the midst thereof, as he that swimmeth spreadeth forth [his hands] to swim: and he shall lay low his pride together with the craft of his hands.
12 Şi fortăreaţa fortului înalt al zidurilor tale, el o va înjosi, o va aşeza şi o va doborî la pământ, în ţărână.
And the fortress of the high fort of thy walls hath he brought down, laid low, and brought to the ground, even to the dust.
