Isaia 16
1 Trimiteţi mielul la conducătorul ţării, de la Sela până la pustiu, la muntele fiicei Sionului.
Send ye the lambs for the ruler of the land from Sela [which is] toward the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.
2 Căci, precum o pasăre rătăcitoare aruncată din cuib, la fel fiicele Moabului vor fi la vadurile Arnonului.
For it shall be that, as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be at the fords of Arnon.
3 Ţine sfat, fă judecată; fă umbra ta ca noaptea în mijlocul amiezii; ascunde proscrişii; nu da pe faţă pe cel ce rătăceşte.
Give counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday: hide the outcasts; bewray not the wanderer.
4 Să locuiască proscrişii mei cu tine, Moab; fii adăpost pentru ei din faţa jefuitorului, căci jecmănitorul a ajuns la capăt, jefuitorul încetează, opresorii sunt mistuiţi din ţară.
Let mine outcasts dwell with thee; as for Moab, be thou a covert to him from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is brought to nought, spoiling ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
5 Şi în milă va fi tronul întemeiat; şi el va şedea pe acesta în adevăr, în cortul lui David, judecând şi căutând judecată şi grăbind dreptatea.
And a throne shall be established in mercy, and one shall sit thereon in truth, in the tent of David; judging, and seeking judgment, and swift to do righteousness.
6 Noi am auzit de mândria Moabului; este foarte mândru, [de asemenea] de aroganţa lui şi mândria lui şi furia lui, dar minciunile lui nu se vor împlini.
We have heard of the pride of Moab, [that] he is very proud; even of his arrogancy, and his pride, and his wrath; his boastings are nought.
7 De aceea Moab va urla pentru Moab, fiecare va urla, pentru temeliile Chir-Haresetului veţi jeli; cu siguranţă sunt loviţi.
Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the raisin-cakes of Kir-hareseth shall ye mourn, utterly stricken.
8 Căci câmpurile Hesbonului [şi] via Sibmei lâncezesc, domnii păgânilor au frânt viţele alese ale acesteia, au ajuns până la Iaezer, au rătăcit prin pustiu; ramurile ei sunt întinse, au trecut peste mare.
For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah; the lords of the nations have broken down the choice plants thereof; they reached even unto Jazer, they wandered into the wilderness; her branches were spread abroad, they passed over the sea.
9 De aceea voi plânge cu plângerea Iaezerului, via Sibmei, te voi uda cu lacrimile mele, Hesbonule şi Elealeule, căci a căzut strigătul pentru fructele tale de vară şi pentru secerişul tău.
Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for upon thy summer fruits and upon thy harvest the [battle] shout is fallen.
10 Şi veselia şi bucuria din câmpul roditor este luată; şi în vii nu va fi cântare, nici nu va fi strigăt, vierii nu vor mai presa vin în teascurile lor; am făcut să înceteze strigătul recoltei lor.
And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the fruitful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither joyful noise: no treader shall tread out wine in the presses; I have made the [vintage] shout to cease.
11 De aceea adâncurile mele vor suna ca o harpă pentru Moab şi părţile mele ascunse pentru Chir-Hares.
Wherefore my bowels sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kir-heres.
12 Şi se va întâmpla, când se va vedea că Moab este obosit pe locul înalt, că el va veni la sanctuarul său să se roage, dar nu va învinge.
And it shall come to pass, when Moab presenteth himself, when he wearieth himself upon the high place, and shall come to his sanctuary to pray, that he shall not prevail.
13 Acesta este cuvântul pe care DOMNUL l-a vorbit de atunci referitor la Moab.
This is the word that the LORD spake concerning Moab in time past.
14 Dar acum DOMNUL a vorbit, spunând: În trei ani, ca anii unui angajat, gloria Moabului va fi dispreţuită, cu toată acea mare mulţime; şi rămăşiţa va fi foarte mică şi slabă.
But now the LORD hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be brought into contempt, with all his great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and of no account.
