Osea 13
1 Când Efraim a vorbit tremurând, el s-a înălţat în Israel; dar când s-a făcut vinovat prin Baal, a murit.
When Ephraim spake, there was trembling: hee exalted him selfe in Israel, but he hath sinned in Baal, and is dead.
2 Şi acum ei păcătuiesc tot mai mult, şi şi-au făcut imagini turnate din argintul lor şi idoli conform cu propria lor înţelegere, toate acestea fiind lucrarea meşteşugarilor; ei spun despre ele: Oamenii care sacrifică să sărute vițeii.
And nowe they sinne more and more, and haue made them molten images of their siluer, and idoles according to their owne vnderstanding: they were all the woorke of the craftesmen: they say one to another whiles they sacrifice a man, Let them kisse the calues.
3 De aceea vor fi ca norul de dimineaţă şi ca roua dimineţii care trece repede, ca pleava care este împinsă din arie de vârtejul de vânt şi ca fumul din horn.
Therefore they shall bee as the morning cloude, and as the morning dewe that passeth away, as the chaffe that is driuen with a whirlewind out of the floore, and as the smoke that goeth out of the chimney.
4 Totuşi eu sunt DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău din ţara Egiptului şi tu nu vei cunoaşte alt dumnezeu decât pe mine; fiindcă nu este salvator în afară de mine.
Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt knowe no God but me: for there is no Sauiour beside me.
5 Eu te-am cunoscut în pustie, în ţara cu secetă mare.
I did knowe thee in the wildernesse, in the land of drought.
6 După păşunea lor, s-au săturat; au fost săturaţi şi inima li s-a înălţat; de aceea m-au uitat.
As in their pastures, so were they filled: they were filled, and their heart was exalted: therefore haue they forgotten me.
7 De aceea voi fi pentru ei ca un leu, îi voi privi ca un leopard lângă cale,
And I wil be vnto them as a very lyon, and as a leopard in the way of Asshur.
8 Îi voi întâmpina ca o ursoaică lipsită de puii ei şi voi sfâşia învelitoarea inimii lor, şi acolo, ca un leu, îi voi mânca; fiara sălbatică îi va sfâşia.
I will meete them, as a beare that is robbed of her whelpes, and I will breake the kall of their heart, and there will I deuoure them like a lion: the wilde beast shall teare them.
9 Israele, tu te-ai nimicit pe tine însuţi; dar în mine este ajutorul tău.
O Israel, one hath destroyed thee, but in me is thine helpe.
10 Eu voi fi împăratul tău, unde este vreun altul care să te salveze în toate cetăţile tale? Şi judecătorii tăi despre care ai spus: Dă-mi un împărat şi prinţi?
I am: where is thy King, that shoulde help thee in al thy cities? and thy iudges, of whom thou saidest, Giue me a King, and princes?
11 Ţi-am dat un împărat în mânia mea şi l-am luat în furia mea.
I gaue thee a King in mine anger, and I tooke him away in my wrath.
12 Nelegiuirea lui Efraim este legată; păcatul lui este ascuns.
The iniquitie of Ephraim is bound vp: his sinne is hid.
13 Întristările unei femei în travaliu vor veni peste el; el este un fiu neînţelept; fiindcă nu ar trebui să stea mult în locul naşterii copiilor.
The sorowes of a trauailing woman shall come vpon him: he is an vnwise sonne, els would he not stande still at the time, euen at the breaking forth of the children.
14 Îi voi răscumpăra din puterea mormântului, îi voi răscumpăra din moarte. Moarte, eu voi fi plăgile tale; mormântule, voi fi nimicirea ta; pocăinţa va fi ascunsă de ochii mei. (Sheol h7585)
I wil redeeme them from the power of the graue: I will deliuer them from death: O death, I wil be thy death: O graue, I will be thy destruction: repentance is hid from mine eyes. (Sheol h7585)
15 Deşi este roditor între fraţii lui, un vânt de est va veni, vântul DOMNULUI se va ridica din pustie şi izvorul lui se va usca şi fântâna lui va seca; el va prăda tezaurul tuturor vaselor plăcute.
Though he grewe vp among his brethren, an East winde shall come, euen the winde of the Lord shall come vp from the wildernesse, and drie vp his veine, and his fountaine shalbe dryed vp: he shall spoyle the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
16 Samaria va fi pustiită, pentru că s-a răzvrătit împotriva Dumnezeului ei; vor cădea prin sabie; pruncii lor vor fi zdrobiţi în bucăţi şi femeile lor însărcinate vor fi spintecate.
Samaria shalbe desolate: for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sworde: their infants shalbe dashed in pieces, and their women with childe shalbe ript.
