Evrei 12
1 De aceea și noi, fiind încercuiți cu un nor așa de mare de martori, să lăsăm deoparte fiecare greutate și păcatul care [ne] copleșește așa de ușor și să alergăm cu răbdare cursa care este pusă înaintea noastră,
Therefore let us indeed, having around us so great a cloud of witnesses, having laid aside every weight, and the sin that doth so easily beset us, run with patience the race which is set before us,
2 Privind cu atenție la Isus, autorul și desăvârșitorul credinței noastre care, pentru bucuria pusă înaintea lui, a îndurat crucea, disprețuind rușinea și este așezat la dreapta tronului lui Dumnezeu.
looking unto Jesus the beginner and perfecter of our faith; who for the joy that was placed before him, endured the cross, looking with contempt at the shame, and has sat down on the right hand of the throne of God.
3 Căci luați aminte la cel ce a îndurat o astfel de împotrivire a păcătoșilor față de el, ca nu cumva să obosiți și să cădeți de oboseală în mințile voastre.
For consider him who has endured so great a contradiction of sinners against himself, in order that you may not become weary, fainting in your souls.
4 Voi nu v-ați împotrivit încă până la sânge, luptând împotriva păcatului.
For you have not yet resisted unto blood, fighting against sin;
5 Și ați uitat îndemnul care vă vorbește ca unor copii: Fiul meu, nu disprețui disciplinarea Domnului, nici nu cădea de oboseală când ești mustrat de el;
and you have forgotten the exhortation which reasoneth with you as with sons, My son regard not lightly the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art proven of him:
6 Fiindcă Domnul disciplinează pe cine iubește și biciuiește pe fiecare fiu pe care îl primește.
for whom the Lord loves he chastises, and scourges every son whom he receives.
7 Dacă îndurați disciplinarea, Dumnezeu se poartă cu voi precum cu fii; căci, care este fiul pe care nu îl disciplinează tatăl?
Endure unto chastisement; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom the father does not chastise?
8 Dar dacă sunteți fără disciplinare, din care toți sunt părtași, atunci sunteți bastarzi și nu fii.
And if you are without chastisement, of which all have been partakers, then are you bastards, and not sons.
9 Mai mult, după carnea noastră am avut părinți care ne-au disciplinat și i-am respectat; nu cu atât mai mult să fim în supunere Tatălui duhurilor și să trăim?
Then indeed, we had fathers of our flesh who chastised us, and we endured: how much more then shall we submit to the Father of spirits, and live?
10 Fiindcă ei, într-adevăr, pentru puține zile ne disciplinau după cum li se părea bine; dar el, pentru folosul nostru, ca să fim părtași ai sfințeniei lui.
For they indeed for a few days were accustomed to chastise us according to that which seemed right to them; but he made unto our profit, in order that we might partake his holiness.
11 Dar nicio disciplinare din prezent nu pare a fi bucurie, ci mâhnire; totuși la urmă ea dă rodul pașnic al dreptății celor ce au fost antrenați prin ea.
Indeed no chastisement for the present seems to be truly joyful, but sorrowful: but afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to them who have been disciplined by it.
12 De aceea, ridicați mâinile care atârnă și îndreptați genunchii slăbiți;
Therefore hold up the hands which hang down, and the paralyzed knees,
13 Și faceți cărări drepte pentru picioarele voastre, ca nu cumva cel șchiop să fie abătut de pe cale ci, mai degrabă, să fie vindecat.
and make straight paths for your feet, in order that whatsoever is lame may not be turned out of the way, but rather may it be healed.
14 Urmăriți pacea cu toți oamenii și sfințenia, fără care nimeni nu va vedea pe Domnul;
Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification, without which no one shall see the Lord:
15 Veghind, ca nu cumva cineva să fie lipsit de harul lui Dumnezeu, ca nu cumva, răsărind vreo rădăcină de amărăciune, să vă tulbure și prin aceasta mulți să fie întinați;
looking diligently lest any one may fail from the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up may trouble you, and through it many may be defiled;
16 Ca nu cumva să fie cineva curvar sau profan, ca Esau, care pentru o singură mâncare și-a vândut dreptul său de întâi născut.
lest any one may be a fornicator, or a profane person, as was Esau, who for one morsel sold his birthright.
17 Fiindcă știți că mai apoi, voind să moștenească binecuvântarea, a fost respins; fiindcă nu a găsit loc pentru pocăință, deși cu grijă a căutat-o cu lacrimi.
For you know that, wishing to inherit the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance even though having sought it diligently with tears.
18 Fiindcă nu v-ați apropiat de muntele care se putea atinge și care ardea cu foc, nici de negură și întuneric și furtună,
For you have not come to the mountain that can be touched, and that is burnt with fire, and unto blackness and darkness, and tempest,
19 Și nici de sunetul de trâmbiță și de vocea cuvintelor, pe care cei ce au auzit-o au implorat să nu li se mai vorbească nici[un] cuvânt;
and to the sound of the trumpet, and the voice of words; which those having heard requested that the word should not be spoken unto them:
20 (Fiindcă nu puteau îndura ceea ce era poruncit: Chiar dacă un animal atinge muntele, să fie ucis cu pietre, sau străpuns cu lancea;
for they could not endure that which was spoken, If a wild beast should touch the mountain, it shall be pierced through with a dart:
21 Și așa de înspăimântătoare era priveliștea, încât Moise a spus: Sunt tare îngrozit și tremur);
and the sight was so fearful, Moses said, I exceedingly fear and tremble:
22 Ci v-ați apropiat de muntele Sion și de cetatea Dumnezeului cel viu, Ierusalimul ceresc, și de miriadele de îngeri,
but you have come to mount Zion, and to the heavenly Jerusalem, to the city of the living God, and to myriads of angels,
23 De adunarea tuturor și biserica întâilor născuți, care sunt scriși în cer, și de Dumnezeu, Judecătorul tuturor, și de duhurile celor drepți, făcuți desăvârșiți,
to the whole company, and to the church of the first-born, who have been written in the heavens, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of justified people who have been made perfect,
24 Și de Isus, mijlocitorul legământului cel nou, și de sângele stropirii, care vorbește lucruri mai bune decât al lui Abel.
and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, speaking something better than the blood of Abel.
25 Vedeți să nu refuzați pe cel ce vorbește. Căci dacă nu au scăpat cei ce l-au refuzat pe cel ce vorbea pe pământ, cu atât mai mult nu vom scăpa noi, dacă ne întoarcem de la cel ce vorbește din cer,
See that you do not reject the one speaking: for if they escape not having rejected the one delivering them the divine oracles on earth, how much more shall we not escape, who turn away from the one speaking from the heavens:
26 A cărui voce a clătinat pământul atunci, dar acum a promis, spunând: Eu clatin încă o dată, nu doar pământul, ci și cerul.
whose voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised, saying, I will still once shake not only the earth, but also heaven.
27 Și acest cuvânt: Încă o dată, arată îndepărtarea lucrurilor clătinate, ca a unor lucruri făcute, pentru ca să rămână acele lucruri care nu pot fi clătinate.
But he would yet once show the removal of the things shaken, as having been created, in order that the things unshaken may remain.
28 De aceea, primind o împărăție care nu poate fi clătinată, să avem har prin care să servim plăcut lui Dumnezeu, cu reverență și teamă evlavioasă,
Therefore receiving an unshaken kingdom, let us have grace, through which we may worship God acceptably with reverence and fear:
29 Fiindcă, Dumnezeul nostru este un foc mistuitor.
for our God is a consuming fire.
