Hagai 1
1 În anul al doilea al împăratului Darius, în luna a șasea, în ziua întâi a lunii, a venit cuvântul DOMNULUI prin profetul Hagai la Zorobabel, fiul lui Șealtiel, guvernatorul lui Iuda, și către Iosua, fiul lui Ioțadac, marele preot, spunând:
In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of Yahweh came by the hand of Haggai the prophet to the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and to the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak, saying,
2 Astfel vorbește DOMNUL oștirilor, spunând: Acest popor spune: Nu a venit timpul, timpul să fie construită casa DOMNULUI.
“Yahweh of hosts says this: These people say, 'It is not time for us to come or to build Yahweh's house.'”
3 Atunci a venit cuvântul DOMNULUI prin profetul Hagai, spunând:
Then the word of Yahweh came by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 Pentru voi [este] timpul să locuiți în casele voastre căptușite cu lemn, iar această casă stă pustiită?
“Is it a time for you yourselves to live in your finished houses, while this house lies ruined?
5 Și acum astfel zice DOMNUL oștirilor: Luați aminte la căile voastre.
So now Yahweh of hosts says this: Consider your ways!
6 Ați semănat mult și adunați puțin; mâncați, dar nu aveți destul; beți, dar nu sunteți îndestulați cu băutură; vă îmbrăcați, dar nimănui nu îi este cald; și cel ce câștigă un venit, câștigă venit pentru a-l pune într-o pungă spartă.
You have sown much seed, but bring in little harvest; you eat but do not have enough; you drink but cannot get drunk. You wear clothes but cannot warm yourselves, and the wage earner earns money only to put it into a bag full of holes!
7 Astfel spune DOMNUL oștirilor: Luați aminte la căile voastre.
Yahweh of hosts says this: “Consider your ways!
8 Urcați-vă la munte și aduceți lemn și construiți casa; și eu îmi voi găsi plăcerea în ea și voi fi glorificat, spune DOMNUL.
Go up to the mountain, bring timber, and build my house; then I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified!—says Yahweh.”
9 Vă așteptați la mult și, iată, a fost puțin; și când l-ați adus acasă, eu l-am suflat. De ce? Spune DOMNUL oștirilor. Din cauza casei mele care [stă] pustiită, în timp ce voi alergați fiecare pentru propria lui casă.
“You looked for much, but behold! you have brought little home, for I blew it away! Why?” declares Yahweh of hosts. “Because my house lies in ruins, while every one of you is working on his own house.
10 De aceea cerul de deasupra voastră este oprit a da rouă și pământul este oprit a da rodul lui.
Because of this the heavens withhold the dew from you, and the earth withholds its produce.
11 Și am chemat o secetă peste țară și peste munți și peste grâne și peste vinul nou și peste untdelemn și peste ceea ce dă pământul și peste oameni și peste vite și peste toată lucrarea mâinilor.
I have summoned a drought upon the land and upon the mountains, upon the grain and upon the new wine, upon the oil and upon the harvest of the earth, upon men and upon beasts, and upon all the labor of your hands!”
12 Atunci Zorobabel, fiul lui Șealtiel, și Iosua, fiul lui Ioțadac, marele preot, împreună cu toată rămășița poporului, au ascultat de vocea DOMNULUI Dumnezeului lor și de cuvintele profetului Hagai, precum DOMNUL Dumnezeul lor l-a trimis; și poporul s-a temut înaintea DOMNULUI.
Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak, along with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of Yahweh their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, because Yahweh their God had sent him and the people feared the face of Yahweh.
13 Atunci a vorbit Hagai, mesagerul DOMNULUI, în mesajul DOMNULUI către popor, spunând: Eu sunt cu voi, zice DOMNUL.
Then Haggai, the messenger of Yahweh, spoke Yahweh's message to the people and said, “I am with you!—this is Yahweh's declaration!”
14 Și DOMNUL a stârnit duhul lui Zorobabel, fiul lui Șealtiel, guvernator al lui Iuda și duhul lui Iosua, fiul lui Ioțadac, marele preot, și duhul întregii rămășițe a poporului; și ei au venit și au lucrat la casa DOMNULUI oștirilor, Dumnezeul lor,
So Yahweh stirred up the spirit of the governor of Judah, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and the spirit of the high priest Joshua son of Jehozadak, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, so that they went and worked on the house of Yahweh of hosts, their God
15 În ziua a douăzeci și patra a lunii a șasea, în anul al doilea al împăratului Darius.
in the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
