Geneză 15
1 După aceste lucruri, cuvântul DOMNULUI a venit la Avram într-o viziune, spunând: Nu te teme Avrame, eu sunt scutul tău şi răsplata ta peste măsură de mare.
After these deades ye worde of God came vnto Abram in a vision saynge feare not Abram I am thy shilde and thy rewarde shalbe exceadynge greate.
2 Şi Avram a spus: Doamne DUMNEZEULE, ce îmi vei da, văzând că mă duc fără copii, iar administratorul casei mele este acest Eliezer din Damasc?
And Abram answered: LORde Iehouah what wilt thou geue me: I goo childlesse and the cater of myne housse this Eleasar of Damasco hath a sonne.
3 Şi Avram a spus: Iată, nu mi-ai dat nicio sămânţă şi, iată, unul născut în casa mea este moştenitorul meu.
And Abram sayd: se to me hast thou geven no seed: lo a lad borne in my housse shalbe myne heyre.
4 Şi, iată, cuvântul DOMNULUI a venit la el, spunând: Nu acesta va fi moştenitorul tău, ci cel ce va ieşi din propriile tale adâncuri va fi moştenitorul tău.
And beholde the worde of the LORde spake vnto Abram sayenge: He shall not be thyne heyre but one that shall come out of thyne awne bodye shalbe thyne heyre.
5 Şi l-a dus afară şi a spus: Priveşte acum spre cer şi numără stelele, dacă eşti în stare să le numeri; şi i-a spus: Astfel va fi sămânţa ta.
And he brought him out at the doores ad sayde. Loke vpp vnto heaven and tell the starres yf thou be able to nobre them. And sayde vnto him Even so shall thy seed be.
6 Iar el a crezut în DOMNUL, iar DOMNUL i-a socotit aceasta pentru dreptate.
And Abram beleved the LORde and it was counted to him for rightwesnes.
7 Şi i-a spus: Eu sunt DOMNUL care te-a scos din cetatea Ur a caldeilor, ca să îţi dau această ţară să o moşteneşti.
And he sayde vnto hym: I am the LORde that brought the out of Vrin Chaldea to geue the this lande to possesse it.
8 Iar el a spus: Doamne DUMNEZEULE, din ce voi şti că o voi moşteni?
And he sayde: LORde God whereby shall I knowe that I shall possesse it?
9 Iar el i-a spus: Ia-mi o viţea de trei ani şi o capră de trei ani şi un berbec de trei ani şi o turturea şi un pui de porumbel.
And he sayde vnto him: take an heyfer of. iij. yere olde and a she gotte of thre yeres olde and a thre yere olde ram a turtill doue and a yonge pigeon.
10 Şi a luat la el toate acestea şi le-a despicat în două şi a aşezat fiecare bucată una în faţa alteia, dar păsările nu le-a despicat.
And he toke all these and devyded them in the myddes and layde euery pece one over agenst a nother. But the foules devyded he not.
11 Şi când păsările de pradă au coborât peste stârvuri, Avram le-a alungat.
And the byrdes fell on the carcases but Abra droue the awaye.
12 Şi când soarele apunea, un somn adânc a căzut peste Avram şi, iată, o groază a unui mare întuneric a căzut peste el.
And when the sonne was doune there fell a slomber apon Abram. And loo feare and greate darknesse came apon hym.
13 Iar DOMNUL i-a spus lui Avram: Să ştii cu adevărat că sămânţa ta va fi străină într-o ţară care nu este a lor şi vor servi pe aceia, iar ei îi vor chinui patru sute de ani;
And he sayde vnto Abram: knowe this of a suertie that thi seed shalbe a straunger in a lande that perteyneth not vnto the. And they shall make bondmen of them and entreate them evell iiij. hundred yeares.
14 Şi de asemenea pe acea naţiune, căreia ei îi vor servi, o voi judeca; şi după aceea vor ieşi din ea cu mare avere.
But the nation whom they shall serue wyll I iudge. And after warde shall they come out wyth greate substace.
15 Iar tu vei merge la părinţii tăi în pace şi vei fi îngropat la o bătrâneţe frumoasă.
Neuerthelesse thou shalt goo vnto thi fathers in peace ad shalt be buried when thou art of a good age:
16 Dar în a patra generaţie vor veni din nou aici, pentru că nelegiuirea amoriţilor nu este încă deplină.
ad in the fourth generation they shall come hyther agayne for the wekednesse of the Amorites ys not yet full.
17 Şi s-a întâmplat, după ce soarele a apus şi era întuneric, că iată, un cuptor fumegând şi o lampă arzând au trecut printre acele bucăţi.
When the sonne was doune and it was waxed darke: beholde there was a smokynge furnesse and a fyre brand that went betwene the sayde peces.
18 În aceeaşi zi DOMNUL a făcut un legământ cu Avram, spunând: Seminţei tale i-am dat această ţară, de la râul Egiptului până la marele râu, râul Eufrat:
And that same daye the LORde made a covenaunte with Abram saynge: vnto thy seed wyll I geue thys londe fro the ryver of Egypte even vnto the greate ryver euphrates:
19 Cheniţii şi cheniziţii şi cadmoniţii,
the kenytes the kenizites the Cadmonites
20 Şi hitiţii şi periziţii şi refaimii,
the Hethites the Pherezites the Raphaims
21 Şi amoriţii şi canaaniţii şi ghirgaşiţii şi iebusiţii.
the Amorytes the Canaanites the Gergesites and the Iebusites.
