Geneză 10

1 Acum acestea sunt generaţiile fiilor lui Noe: Sem, Ham şi Iafet; şi li s-au născut fii după potop.

These were the descendants of the sons of Noah, that is, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.

2 Fiii lui Iafet: Gomer şi Magog şi Madai şi Iavan şi Tubal şi Meşec şi Tiras.

The sons of Japheth were Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

3 Şi fiii lui Gomer: Aşchenaz şi Rifat şi Togarma.

The sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

4 Şi fiii lui Iavan: Elişa şi Tarsis, Chitim şi Dodanim.

The sons of Javan were Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

5 Prin aceştia au fost împărţite insulele neamurilor în pământurile lor, fiecare după limba lui, după familiile lor, în naţiunile lor.

From these the coastland peoples separated and went into their lands, every one with its own language, according to their clans, by their nations.

6 Şi fiii lui Ham: Cuş şi Miţraim şi Put şi Canaan.

The sons of Ham were Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

7 Şi fiii lui Cuş: Seba şi Havila şi Sabta şi Raema şi Sabteca; şi fiii lui Raema: Şeba şi Dedan.

The sons of Cush were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteka. The sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.

8 Şi Cuş a născut pe Nimrod, el a început să fie unul puternic pe pământ.

Cush became the father of Nimrod, who was the first conqueror on the earth.

9 El era un vânător puternic înaintea DOMNULUI, de aceea s-a spus: Precum Nimrod, puternicul vânător înaintea DOMNULUI.

He was a mighty hunter before Yahweh. That is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before Yahweh.”

10 Şi începutul împărăţiei sale a fost Babel şi Erec şi Acad şi Calne, în ţara Şinar.

The first centers of his kingdom were Babel, Erech, Akkad, and Kalneh, in the land of Shinar.

11 Din acea ţară a ieşit Aşur şi a zidit Ninive şi cetatea Rehobot şi Calah,

Out of that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,

12 Şi Resen, între Ninive şi Calah; aceasta este o mare cetate.

and Resen, which was between Nineveh and Calah. It was a large city.

13 Şi Miţraim a născut pe ludimi şi pe anamimi şi pe lehabimi şi pe naftuhimi,

Mizraim became the father of the Ludites, the Anamites, the Lehabites, the Naphtuhites,

14 Şi pe patrusimi şi pe casluhimi, (din care au venit filisteni) şi pe caftorimi.

the Pathrusites, the Kasluhites (from whom the Philistines came), and the Caphtorites.

15 Şi Canaan a născut pe Sidon, întâiul său născut, şi pe Het,

Canaan became the father of Sidon, his firstborn, and of Heth,

16 Şi pe iebusiţi şi pe amoriţi şi pe ghirgasiţi,

also of the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

17 Şi pe hiviţi şi pe archiţi şi pe siniţi,

the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

18 Şi pe arvadiţi şi pe ţemariţi şi pe hamatiţi şi după aceea familiile canaaniţilor au fost împrăştiate peste tot.

the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the clans of the Canaanites spread out.

19 Şi graniţa canaaniţilor era de la Sidon, precum vii la Gherar, spre Gaza, cum mergi spre Sodoma şi Gomora şi Adma şi Zeboim, până la Leşa.

The border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, in the direction of Gerar, as far as Gaza, and as one goes toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboyim, as far as Lasha.

20 Aceştia sunt fiii lui Ham, după familiile lor, după limbile lor, în ţările lor şi în naţiunile lor.

These were the sons of Ham, by their clans, by their languages, in their lands, and in their nations.

21 Lui Sem, de asemenea, tatăl tuturor copiilor lui Eber, fratele lui Iafet, care este mai vârstnic, şi lui i s-au născut copii.

Sons also were born to Shem, the older brother of Japheth. Shem was also the ancestor of all the people of Eber.

22 Copiii lui Sem: Elam şi Aşur şi Arpacşad şi Lud şi Aram.

The sons of Shem were Elam, Ashur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram.

23 Şi copiii lui Aram: Uţ şi Hul şi Gheter şi Maş.

The sons of Aram were Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.

24 Şi Arpacşad a născut pe Şelah şi Şelah a născut pe Eber.

Arphaxad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.

25 Şi lui Eber i s-au născut doi fii: numele unuia a fost Peleg, pentru că în zilele lui a fost pământul împărţit, şi numele fratelui său a fost Ioctan.

Eber had two sons. The name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the earth was divided. His brother's name was Joktan.

26 Şi Ioctan a născut pe Almodad şi pe Şelef şi pe Haţarmavet şi pe Ierah,

Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

27 Şi pe Hadoram şi pe Uzal şi pe Dicla,

Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

28 Şi pe Obal şi pe Abimael şi pe Şeba,

Obal, Abimael, Sheba,

29 Şi pe Ofir şi pe Havila şi pe Iobab, toţi aceştia au fost fiii lui Ioctan.

Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

30 Şi locuinţa lor era de la Meşa, aşa cum mergi spre Sefar, un munte spre est.

Their territory was from Mesha, all the way to Sephar, the mountain of the east.

31 Aceştia sunt fiii lui Sem, după familiile lor, după limbile lor, în ţările lor, după naţiunile lor.

These were the sons of Shem, according to their clans and their languages, in their lands, according to their nations.

32 Acestea sunt familiile fiilor lui Noe, după generaţiile lor; în naţiunile lor şi prin aceştia au fost naţiunile împărţite pe pământ după potop.

These were the clans of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, by their nations. From these the nations separated and went over the earth after the flood.
