Galateni 4
1 Dar spun: Cât timp moștenitorul este copil, nu diferă cu nimic de rob, măcar că este domn al tuturor,
But I say, that the heir, as long as he is a minor, differs in no respect from a servant, though he is owner of all;
2 Ci este sub tutori și administratori, până la timpul stabilit de tată.
but is under guardians and managers till the time appointed by the father.
3 Așa și noi, când eram copii, eram în robie sub principiile elementare ale lumii.
So, also, we, when we were minors, were in bondage under the rudiments of the world.
4 Dar când a venit plinătatea timpului, Dumnezeu a trimis pe Fiul său, venit din femeie, venit sub lege,
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
5 Să răscumpere pe cei ce erau sub lege, ca să primim adopția fiilor.
that he might buy off those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption.
6 Și pentru că sunteți fii, Dumnezeu a trimis Duhul Fiului său în inimile voastre, care strigă: Abba, Tată!
And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
7 De aceea nu mai ești rob, ci fiu; iar dacă ești fiu, ești și moștenitor al lui Dumnezeu prin Cristos.
So, then, you are no longer a servant, but a son; and if a son, an heir also of God, through Christ.
8 Atunci însă, când nu cunoșteați pe Dumnezeu, ați servit celor ce prin natură nu sunt dumnezei.
But, then, because you knew not God, you were enslaved to those who, by nature, are not gods:
9 Dar acum, după ce ați cunoscut pe Dumnezeu, sau mai degrabă, fiind cunoscuți de Dumnezeu, cum vă întoarceți din nou la slabele și sărăcăcioasele principii elementare, cărora doriți din nou să le fiți robi în robie?
now, however, after having known God, rather indeed having been known by God, how is it that you are turning back to the weak and beggarly rudiments, to which you desire again to be in bondage, as at first?
10 Voi țineți zile și luni și timpuri și ani.
You observe days and months and times and years.
11 Mă tem pentru voi, ca nu cumva să fi muncit în zadar pentru voi.
fear for you, lest I have bestowed labor upon you in vain.
12 Fraților, vă implor, fiți ca mine, pentru că eu sunt ca voi; nu m-ați nedreptățit cu nimic.
Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; because I was as you are. You have injured me in nothing.
13 Dar știți cum prin neputința cărnii v-am predicat evanghelia la început.
You know that through weakness of the flesh I preached the gospel to you at the first:
14 Și nu ați disprețuit, nici nu ați respins ispita mea care era în carnea mea, ci m-ați primit ca pe un înger al lui Dumnezeu, ca pe Cristos Isus.
and my trial, which was in my flesh, you did not despise or loathe; but you received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus.
15 Unde este, așadar, binecuvântarea despre care ați vorbit? Fiindcă vă aduc mărturie, că, dacă ar fi fost posibil, v-ați fi scos propriii ochi și mi i-ați fi dat.
How great, then, was your blessedness! For I testify for you, that, if possible, you would have torn out your eyes, and have given them to me.
16 Am devenit atunci dușmanul vostru, pentru că vă spun adevărul?
Have I then become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
17 Ei cu zel vă influențează, dar nu spre bine; da, ei voiesc să vă excludă, ca la rândul vostru să îi influențați cu zel.
They are ardently attached to you, but not honorably; indeed, they desire to exclude us, that you may be ardently attached to them.
18 Dar totdeauna este bine să fiți influențați cu zel în ce este bine și nu doar când sunt prezent cu voi.
It is honorable to be ardently attached always, in what is honorable, and not only when I am present with you.
19 Copilașii mei, pentru care din nou simt durerile nașterii până când Cristos este format în voi,
My little children, for whom I again suffer the pains of gestation, till Christ be formed in you,
20 Doresc să fiu prezent acum cu voi și să îmi schimb tonul vocii, pentru că sunt nedumerit cu privire la voi.
I desire to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am in doubt concerning you.
21 Spuneți-mi, voi, care doriți să fiți sub lege, nu auziți legea?
Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, do you not understand the law?
22 Fiindcă este scris că Avraam a avut doi fii, unul din femeia roabă și celălalt din femeia liberă.
For it is written, that Abraham had two sons; one by a bondmaid, and one by a free woman.
23 Dar cel din femeia roabă a fost născut conform cărnii, iar cel din femeia liberă, prin promisiune.
But the one by the bondmaid was born according to the flesh; the other, by the free woman, was by promise.
24 Lucrurile acestea sunt o alegorie, fiindcă acestea sunt cele două legăminte, unul, de la muntele Sinai, care naște pentru robie și care este Agar.
These things are allegorized: for these women are the two covenants; the one from the Mount Sinai that brings forth for bondage, which is Hagar.
25 Fiindcă această Agar este muntele Sinai în Arabia și corespunde Ierusalimului de acum și este în robie cu copiii săi.
For Hagar represents Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in bondage with her children.
26 Dar Ierusalimul cel de sus este liber, cel ce este mama noastră a tuturor.
But Jerusalem which is above is free; and she is the mother of us all.
27 Fiindcă este scris: Bucură-te, stearpo, care nu naști. Izbucnește și strigă tu care nu ești în durerile nașterii, pentru că cea pustiită are mai mulți copii decât cea care are soț.
For it is written: Rejoice you barren, that do not bear: break forth and cry aloud, you that travail not: for many more are the children of the deserted, than of her that had the husband of the deserted.
28 Iar noi, fraților, suntem copiii promisiunii așa cum a fost Isaac.
We, indeed, brethren, like Isaac, are children of promise.
29 Dar așa cum atunci, cel ce fusese născut conform cărnii persecuta pe cel născut conform Duhului, tot așa [și] acum.
But as then, he that was born according to the flesh persecuted him that was born according to the Spirit, so even now.
30 Totuși ce spune scriptura? Alungă femeia roabă și pe fiul ei, pentru că fiul femeii roabe nicidecum nu va fi moștenitor cu fiul femeii libere.
But what says the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son; for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free-woman.
31 Așa că, fraților, nu suntem copii ai femeii roabe, ci ai femeii libere.
Therefore, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free-woman.
