Ezra 8

1 Aceştia sunt acum mai marii părinţilor lor şi aceasta este genealogia celor care s-au urcat cu mine din Babilon, în timpul domniei lui Artaxerxes, împăratul:

Now, these, are their ancestral heads, and their genealogical register, —even of those who came up with me, in the reign of Artaxerxes the king, out of Babylon: —

2 Dintre fiii lui Fineas, Gherşom; dintre fiii lui Itamar, Daniel; dintre fiii lui David, Hatuş.

Of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom, of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel, —of the sons of David, Hattush;

3 Dintre fiii lui Şecania, dintre fiii lui Pareoş, Zaharia; şi cu el erau număraţi prin genealogia celor de parte bărbătească, o sută cincizeci.

Of the sons of Shecaniah, of the sons of Parosh, Zechariah, —and, with him—by genealogical registry of males, a hundred and fifty:

4 Dintre fiii lui Pahat-Moab, Elioenai, fiul lui Zerahia, şi cu el două sute, de parte bărbătească.

Of the sons of Pahath-moab, Eliehoenai, son of Zerahiah, —and, with him, two hundred males;

5 Dintre fiii lui Şecania, fiul lui Iahaziel, şi cu el trei sute, de parte bărbătească.

Of the sons of Zattu, Shecaniah, the son of Jehaziel, —and, with him, three hundred males;

6 De asemenea dintre fiii lui Adin, Ebed, fiul lui Ionatan, şi cu el cincizeci, de parte bărbătească.

And, of the sons of Adin, Ebed, son of Jonathan, —and, with him, fifty males;

7 Şi dintre fiii lui Elam, Isaia, fiul Ataliei, şi cu el şaptezeci, de parte bărbătească.

And, of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah, son of Athaliah, —and, with him, seventy males;

8 Şi dintre fiii lui Şefatia, Zebadia, fiul lui Mihail, şi cu el optzeci, de parte bărbătească.

And, of the sons of Shephatiah, Zebadiah, son of Michael, —and, with him, eighty males;

9 Dintre fiii lui Ioab, Obadia, fiul lui Iehiel, şi cu el două sute optsprezece, de parte bărbătească.

Of the sons of Joab, Obadiah, son of Jehiel, and, with him, two hundred and eighteen males;

10 Şi dintre fiii lui Şelomit, fiul lui Iosifia, şi cu el o sută şaizeci, de parte bărbătească.

And, of the sons of Bani, Shelomith, son of Josiphiah, —and, with him, a hundred and sixty males;

11 Şi dintre fiii lui Bebai, Zaharia, fiul lui Bebai, şi cu el douăzeci şi opt, de parte bărbătească.

And, of the sons of Bebai, Zechariah, son of Bebai, and, with him, twenty-eight males;

12 Şi dintre fiii lui Azgad, Iohanan, fiul lui Hacatan şi cu el o sută zece, de parte bărbătească.

And, of the sons of Azgad, Johanan, son of Hakkatan, —and, with him, a hundred and ten males;

13 Şi dintre cei din urmă fii ai lui Adonicam, ale căror nume sunt acestea: Elifelet, Ieiel şi Şemaia şi cu ei şaizeci, de parte bărbătească.

And, of the later sons of Adonikam, these being their names, Eliphelet, Jeuel, and Shemaiah, —and, with them, sixty males;

14 De asemenea dintre fiii lui Bigvai, Utai şi Zabuda şi cu ei şaptezeci, de parte bărbătească.

And, of the sons of Bigvai, Uthai and Zabbud, —and, with him, seventy males.

15 Şi i-am adunat la râul care curge spre Ahava; şi acolo am locuit trei zile în corturi; şi am privit asupra poporului şi preoţilor şi nu am găsit acolo pe niciunul dintre fiii lui Levi.

And I gathered them together, unto the river that cometh into Ahava, and we encamped there three days, —and I informed myself among the people and the priests, and, of the sons of Levi, found I none there.

16 Atunci am trimis după Eliezer, după Ariel, după Şemaia şi după Elnatan şi după Iarib şi după Elnatan şi după Natan şi după Zaharia şi după Meşulam, bărbaţi de seamă; de asemenea după Ioiarib şi după Elnatan, oameni ai priceperii.

So I sent for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men, —also for Joiarib and for Elnathan, teachers.

17 Şi i-am trimis cu poruncă la Ido mai marele din locul Casifia şi le-am spus ce ar trebui să îi spună lui Ido şi fraţilor săi netinimii, din locul Casifia, ca să ne aducă servitori pentru casa Dumnezeului nostru.

And I sent them forth unto Iddo the chief, at the place Casiphia, —and I put into their mouth words, to speak unto Iddo and his brethren the Nethinim, at the place Casiphia, to bring unto us attendants for the house of our God.

18 Şi prin mâna cea bună a Dumnezeului nostru peste noi ei ne-au adus pe un om al înţelegerii dintre fiii lui Mahli, fiul lui Levi, fiul lui Israel; şi pe Şerebia, cu fiii săi şi cu fraţii săi, optsprezece;

So they brought unto us, according to the good hand of our God upon us, a man of discretion, of the sons of Mahli, son of Levi, son of Israel, —and Sherebiah, and his sons and his brethren, eighteen;

19 Şi pe Haşabia şi cu el pe Isaia dintre fiii lui Merari, fraţii săi şi fiii lor, douăzeci;

and Hashabiah, and, with him, Jeshaiah, of the sons of Merari, —his brethren and their sons, twenty;

20 De asemenea dintre netinimi, pe care David şi prinţii îi rânduiseră pentru serviciul leviţilor, două sute douăzeci de netinimi; toţi au fost numiţi pe nume.

and, of the Nethinim whom David and the rulers had given for the service of the Levites, Nethinim, two hundred and twenty, —all of them, expressed by name.

21 Atunci eu am proclamat un post acolo, la râul Ahava, ca să ne chinuim înaintea Dumnezeului nostru, pentru a căuta la el o cale dreaptă pentru noi şi pentru micuţii noştri şi pentru toată averea noastră.

Then proclaimed I there a fast, by the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, —to seek of him a smooth way, for us and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

22 Pentru că mi-era ruşine să cer de la împărat o ceată înarmată de soldaţi şi de călăreţi, pentru a ne ajuta pe cale împotriva duşmanului; deoarece noi vorbisem împăratului, spunând: Mâna Dumnezeului nostru este spre bine peste toţi aceia care îl caută; dar puterea lui şi furia lui sunt împotriva tuturor celor care îl părăsesc.

For I was ashamed to ask of the king, a band of soldiers and horsemen, to help us against the enemy in the way, because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God, is upon all who seek him, for good, But, his power and his anger, are against all who forsake him.

23 Astfel că am postit şi l-am implorat pe Dumnezeul nostru pentru aceasta; şi el a fost înduplecat de noi.

So we fasted and sought of our God, concerning this, —and he suffered himself to be entreated by us.

24 Atunci am despărţit doisprezece dintre mai marii preoţilor: pe Şerebia, pe Haşabia şi pe zece dintre fraţii lor cu ei,

Then I separated, from among the rulers of the priests, twelve, —even Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and, with them, from among their brethren, ten;

25 Şi le-am cântărit argintul şi aurul şi vasele, ofranda pentru casa Dumnezeului nostru, pe care împăratul şi sfătuitorii săi şi domnii săi şi tot Israelul acolo prezent, îl oferiseră;

and weighed unto them, the silver and the gold, and the utensils, —the heave-offering for the house of our God, which the king and his counselors and his rulers and all Israel who were present, had offered:

26 Am cântărit în mâna lor şase sute cincizeci de talanţi de argint şi o sută de talanţi de vase de argint şi o sută de talanţi de aur;

I even weighed unto their hand, of silver, six hundred and fifty talents, and, of utensils of silver, a hundred talents, —of gold, a hundred talents;

27 De asemenea douăzeci de oale de aur de o mie de drahme; şi două vase de aramă fină, preţioasă ca aurul.

and, bowls of gold, twenty, of a thousand drams, —and, utensils of fine bright bronze, two, precious as gold.

28 Şi le-am spus: Voi sunteţi sfinţi pentru DOMNUL; vasele de asemenea sunt sfinte; şi argintul şi aurul sunt un dar de bunăvoie pentru DOMNUL Dumnezeul părinţilor voştri.

Then said I unto them, Ye, are hallowed unto Yahweh, and, the utensils, are hallowed, —and, the silver and the gold, are a freewill offering, unto Yahweh, God of your fathers:

29 Vegheaţi şi păziţi-le, până le veţi cântări înaintea mai marilor preoţilor şi ai leviţilor şi înaintea mai marilor dintre părinţii lui Israel, la Ierusalim, în camerele casei DOMNULUI.

Watch and guard, until ye weigh [them] before the rulers of the priests and the Levites and the ancestral rulers of Israel, in Jerusalem, —in the chambers of the house of Yahweh.

30 Astfel, preoţii şi leviţii au luat greutatea argintului şi a aurului şi a vaselor, pentru a le aduce la Ierusalim în casa Dumnezeului nostru.

So the priests and the Levites accepted the weight of the silver and the gold, and the utensils, —to bring to Jerusalem, unto the house of our God.

31 Apoi noi am plecat de la râul Ahava în a douăsprezecea zi a lunii întâi, pentru a merge la Ierusalim; şi mâna Dumnezeului nostru era peste noi şi ne-a scăpat din mâna duşmanului şi a celor care pândeau pe cale.

Then brake we up from the river of Ahava, on the twelfth of the first month, to journey unto Jerusalem, —and, the hand of our God, was upon us, and he delivered us from the grasp of the enemy and of the lier in wait, by the way.

32 Şi am ajuns la Ierusalim şi am rămas acolo trei zile.

So we came to Jerusalem, —and we rested there, three days.

33 Şi în ziua a patra au fost cântărite argintul şi aurul şi vasele în casa Dumnezeului nostru prin mâna lui Meremot fiul preotului Urie; şi cu el era Eleazar, fiul lui Fineas; şi cu ei era Iozabad, fiul lui Ieşua şi Noadia, fiul lui Binui, toţi leviţi;

And, on the fourth day, was weighed—the silver and the gold and the utensils, in the house of our God, unto the hand of Meremoth son of Uriah, the priest, and, with him, was Eleazar son of Phinehas, —and, with them, were Jozabad son of Jeshua and Noadiah son of Binnui, Levites:

34 După numărul şi după greutatea fiecăreia; şi toată greutatea a fost scrisă în acel timp.

by the number and by the weight of the whole, —and all the weight, was written down, at that time.

35 De asemenea copiii acelora care fuseseră duşi, care ieşiseră din captivitate au oferit ofrande arse Dumnezeului lui Israel, doisprezece tauri pentru tot Israelul, nouăzeci şi şase de berbeci, şaptezeci şi şapte de miei, doisprezece ţapi ca ofrandă pentru păcat: toată aceasta era o ofrandă arsă DOMNULUI.

They who came in out of the captivity, Sons of the Exile, offered as ascending-sacrifices unto the God of Israel—bullocks twelve for all Israel, rams ninety-six, young sheep seventy-seven, he-goats for bearing sin, twelve, —the whole, as an ascending-sacrifice unto Yahweh.

36 Şi împuternicirile împăratului le-au dat căpeteniilor împăratului şi guvernatorilor de partea aceasta a râului; şi ei au sprijinit pe popor şi casa lui Dumnezeu.

Then delivered they the decrees of the king, unto the satraps of the king, and the pashas Beyond the River, —and they upheld the people and the house of God.
