Exod 20
1 Și Dumnezeu a vorbit toate aceste cuvinte, spunând:
Then God spake all these wordes, saying,
2 Eu sunt DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, care te-a scos din țara Egiptului, afară din casa robiei.
I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Să nu ai alți dumnezei în afară de mine.
Thou shalt haue none other Gods before me.
4 Să nu îți faci niciun chip cioplit, sau vreo asemănare a oricărui lucru care este în cer deasupra, sau care este în pământ dedesubt, sau care este în apa de sub pământ;
Thou shalt make thee no grauen image, neither any similitude of things that are in heauen aboue, neither that are in the earth beneath, nor that are in the waters vnder the earth.
5 Să nu te prosterni lor, nici să nu le servești, fiindcă eu, DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, sunt un Dumnezeu gelos, pedepsind nelegiuirea părinților peste copii până la a treia și a patra generație a celor ce mă urăsc;
Thou shalt not bowe downe to them, neither serue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generation and vpon the fourth of them that hate me:
6 Și arătând milă la mii dintre cei ce mă iubesc și țin poruncile mele.
And shewing mercie vnto thousandes to them that loue me, and keepe my commandemets.
7 Să nu iei în deșert numele DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, fiindcă DOMNUL nu îl va ține nevinovat pe cel ce ia în deșert numele lui.
Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not hold him guiltles that taketh his Name in vayne.
8 Adu-ți aminte de ziua sabatului, ca să o sfințești.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keepe it holy.
9 Lucrează șase zile și fă toată munca ta,
Sixe dayes shalt thou labour, and doe all thy worke,
10 Dar a șaptea zi este sabatul DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău: în ea să nu faci nicio lucrare, nici tu, nici fiul tău, nici fiica ta, nici servitorul tău, nici servitoarea ta, nici vita ta, nici străinul tău care este înăuntrul porților tale;
But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any worke, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, thy man seruant, nor thy mayde, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.
11 Căci în șase zile DOMNUL a făcut cerul și pământul, marea și tot ce este în ele și s-a odihnit în a șaptea zi, pentru aceasta DOMNUL a binecuvântat ziua sabatului și a sfințit-o.
For in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seuenth day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
12 Onorează pe tatăl tău și pe mama ta, ca zilele tale să fie lungi în țara pe care ți-o dă DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău.
Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.
13 Să nu ucizi.
Thou shalt not kill.
14 Să nu comiți adulter.
Thou shalt not commit adulterie.
15 Să nu furi.
Thou shalt not steale.
16 Să nu aduci mărturie falsă împotriva aproapelui tău.
Thou shalt not beare false witnes against thy neighbour.
17 Să nu poftești casa aproapelui tău, să nu poftești soția aproapelui tău, nici servitorul lui, nici servitoarea lui, nici boul lui, nici măgarul lui, nici orice lucru care este al aproapelui tău.
Thou shalt not couet thy neighbours house, neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, nor his man seruant, nor his mayde, nor his oxe, nor his asse, neyther any thing that is thy neighbours.
18 Și tot poporul a văzut tunetele și fulgerele și sunetul trâmbiței și muntele fumegând; și când poporul a văzut acestea, s-au îndepărtat și au stat departe.
And all the people sawe the thunders, and the lightnings, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountaine smoking and when the people saw it they fled and stoode afare off,
19 Și i-au spus lui Moise: Vorbește tu cu noi și vom asculta, dar să nu vorbească Dumnezeu cu noi, ca nu cumva să murim.
And sayde vnto Moses, Talke thou with vs, and we will heare: but let not God talke with vs, lest we die.
20 Și Moise a spus poporului: Nu vă temeți, pentru că Dumnezeu a venit pentru a vă încerca și ca temerea lui să fie înaintea fețelor voastre, ca să nu păcătuiți.
Then Moses sayde vnto the people, Feare not: for God is come to proue you, and that his feare may be before you, that ye sinne not.
21 Și poporul a stat departe, iar Moise s-a apropiat de întunericul gros unde era Dumnezeu.
So the people stoode afarre off, but Moses drew neere vnto the darkenes where God was.
22 Și DOMNUL i-a spus lui Moise: Astfel să spui copiilor lui Israel: Ați văzut că am vorbit cu voi din cer.
And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Thus thou shalt say vnto the children of Israel, Ye haue seene that I haue talked with you from heauen.
23 Nu faceți dumnezei de argint alături de mine, nici să nu vă faceți dumnezei de aur.
Ye shall not make therefore with me gods of siluer, nor gods of golde: you shall make you none.
24 Fă-mi un altar de pământ și sacrifică pe acesta ofrandele tale arse și ofrandele tale de pace, oile tale și boii tăi; în toate locurile unde voi pune amintirea numelui meu voi veni la tine și te voi binecuvânta.
An altar of earth thou shalt make vnto me, and thereon shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheepe, and thine oxen: in all places, where I shall put the remembrance of my Name, I will come vnto thee, and blesse thee.
25 Și dacă îmi vei face un altar de piatră, să nu îl zidești din piatră cioplită; căci dacă ridici unealta ta asupra acesteia, l-ai profanat.
But if thou wilt make mee an altar of stone, thou shalt not buylde it of hewen stones: for if thou lift vp thy toole vpon them, thou hast polluted them.
26 Nici nu urca pe trepte la altarul meu, ca să nu fie descoperită goliciunea ta pe acesta.
Neither shalt thou goe vp by steppes vnto mine altar, that thy filthines be not discouered thereon.
