Esther 4

1 Când Mardoheu a priceput tot ce s-a făcut, Mardoheu şi-a sfâşiat hainele şi s-a îmbrăcat în pânză de sac cu cenuşă, şi a ieşit în mijlocul cetăţii, şi a plâns tare şi cu amărăciune.

Now when Mordecai perceiued all that was done, Mordecai rent his clothes, and put on sackecloth and ashes, and went out into the middes of the citie, and cryed with a great crye, and a bitter.

2 Şi a venit până în faţa porţii împăratului, căci nimeni nu putea intra pe poarta împăratului îmbrăcat cu pânză de sac.

And he came euen before the Kings gate, but he might not enter within the Kings gate, being clothed with sackecloth.

3 Şi în fiecare provincie, oriunde ajungea porunca împăratului şi hotărârea sa, a fost mare jale printre iudei, şi post şi plâns şi strigăte; şi mulţi zăceau în pânză de sac şi cenuşă.

And in euery prouince, and place, whither the Kings charge and his commission came, there was great sorowe among the Iewes, and fasting, and weeping and mourning, and many laye in sackecloth and in ashes.

4 Şi servitoarele Esterei şi famenii ei au venit şi i-au spus aceasta. Atunci împărăteasa a fost foarte mâhnită; şi a trimis haine să îl îmbrace pe Mardoheu, şi să îi ia pânza de sac de pe el, dar el nu a primit.

Then Esters maydes and her eunuches came and tolde it her: therefore the Queene was very heauie, and she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away his sackecloth from him, but he receiued it not.

5 Atunci Estera a chemat pe Hatac, unul dintre famenii împăratului, pe care l-a rânduit să aibă grijă de ea, şi i-a dat o poruncă pentru Mardoheu, să afle ce este şi de ce.

Then called Ester Hatach one of the Kings eunuches, whom he had appointed to serue her, and gaue him a commandement vnto Mordecai, to knowe what it was, and why it was.

6 Astfel Hatac a mers la Mardoheu până în piaţa cetăţii, care era înaintea porţii împăratului.

So Hatach went foorth to Mordecai vnto the streete of the citie, which was before the Kings gate.

7 Şi Mardoheu i-a spus tot ceea ce i s-a întâmplat, şi despre suma de bani pe care Haman a promis să o plătească trezoreriilor împăratului pentru iudei, pentru a-i nimici.

And Mordecai tolde him of all that which had come vnto him, and of the summe of the siluer that Haman had promised to pay vnto the Kings treasures, because of the Iewes, for to destroy them.

8 De asemenea i-a dat copia înscrisului hotărârii, dată în Susa pentru a-i nimici, pentru a fi arătată Esterei, şi să îi spună şi să îi poruncească să intre la împărat, să îl roage şi să facă cerere înaintea lui pentru poporul ei.

Also he gaue him the copy of the writing and commission that was giuen at Shushan, to destroy them, that he might shewe it vnto Ester and declare it vnto her, and to charge her that she should goe in to the King, and make petition and supplication before him for her people.

9 Şi Hatac a venit şi a spus Esterei cuvintele lui Mardoheu.

So when Hatach came, he told Ester the wordes of Mordecai.

10 Estera a vorbit din nou lui Hatac şi i-a dat porunca pentru Mardoheu.

Then Ester sayde vnto Hatach, and commanded him to say vnto Mordecai,

11 Toţi servitorii împăratului şi oamenii din provinciile împăratului, ştiu că oricine, fie bărbat, fie femeie, care va intra la împărat în curtea dinăuntru, fără să fie chemat, este o singură lege a împăratului, să fie ucis, cu excepţia celui căruia împăratul îi întinde sceptrul său aurit, ca el să trăiască; iar eu nu am fost chemată la împărat în aceste treizeci de zile.

All the Kings seruants and the people of the Kings prouinces doe knowe, that whosoeuer, man or woman, that commeth to the King into the inner court, which is not called, there is a law of his, that he shall dye, except him to whom the King holdeth out the golden rodde, that he may liue. Now I haue not bene called to come vnto the King these thirtie dayes.

12 Şi i-au spus lui Mardoheu cuvintele Esterei.

And they certified Mordecai of Esters wordes.

13 Atunci Mardoheu i-a poruncit să răspundă Esterei: Nu gândi în tine însuţi că numai tu vei scăpa în casa împăratului dintre toţi iudeii.

And Mordecai saide, that they should answere Ester thus, Thinke not with thy selfe that thou shalt escape in the Kings house, more then all the Iewes.

14 Căci dacă tu vei tăcea cu totul în acest timp, ajutorul şi eliberarea iudeilor se va ridica din altă parte; dar tu şi casa tatălui tău veţi fi nimiciţi; şi cine ştie dacă nu ai venit la împărăţie tocmai pentru un timp ca acesta?

For if thou holdest thy peace at this time, comfort and deliuerance shall appeare to the Iewes out of another place, but thou and thy fathers house shall perish: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdome for such a time?

15 Apoi Estera le-a cerut să ducă acest răspuns înapoi lui Mardoheu.

Then Ester commanded to answere Mordecai,

16 Du-te, adună toţi iudeii care se află în Susa şi postiţi pentru mine, şi nici nu mâncaţi nici nu beţi trei zile, noapte sau zi; de asemenea eu şi servitoarele mele vom posti la fel; şi astfel voi merge la împărat, ceea ce nu este conform legii: şi dacă voi pieri, voi pieri.

Goe, and assemble all the Iewes that are found in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and eate not, nor drinke in three dayes, day nor night. I also and my maydes will fast likewise, and so will I go in to the King, which is not according to the lawe: and if I perish, I perish.

17 Şi Mardoheu a plecat pe drumul lui, şi a făcut conform cu tot ceea ce Estera i-a poruncit.

So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Ester had commanded him.
