Esther 10

1 Şi împăratul Ahaşveroş a aşezat un tribut asupra ţării şi asupra insulelor mării.

Truly, king Artaxerxes made all the land, and all the islands of the sea, tributaries.

2 Şi toate faptele puterii lui, şi ale tăriei lui, şi declaraţia măreţiei lui Mardoheu, la care l-a avansat împăratul, nu sunt scrise ele în cartea cronicilor împăraţilor Mediei şi ai Persiei?

And his strength and his authority, and the dignity and supremacy with which he exalted Mordecai, have been written in the books of the Medes and the Persians,

3 Căci Mardoheu, iudeul, a fost primul după împăratul Ahaşveroş, şi mare printre iudei, şi primit de mulţimea fraţilor săi, căutând bunăstarea poporului său, şi vorbind pace către toată sămânţa sa.

and how Mordecai of Jewish birth, was second after king Artaxerxes, and great among the Jews, and acceptable to the people of his brethren, seeking the good of his people, and speaking about things which pertained to peace for their descendants.
