Deuteronomul 15
1 La sfârşitul fiecăror şapte ani să faci o scutire.
At the end of seven years, shalt thou make a release.
2 Şi astfel să fie scutirea: Fiecare creditor, care împrumută ceva aproapelui său, să îl scutească; să nu îl stoarcă de la aproapele lui sau de la fratele lui, pentru că aceasta este numită scutirea DOMNULUI.
And, this, shall be the manner of the release, Every creditor who lendeth aught to his neighbour, his hand shall release it, —he shall not exact it of his neighbour or his brother, because there hath been proclaimed a release unto Yahweh.
3 De la locuitorul temporar poţi să îl storci, dar mâna ta să scutească ceea ce este al tău la fratele tău;
Of a foreigner, thou mayest exact it, —but, what thou hast with thy brother, thy hand shall release;
4 Numai când nu va fi la tine niciun sărac, pentru că DOMNUL te va binecuvânta mult în ţara, pe care ţi-o dă DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău ca moştenire, ca să o stăpâneşti,
save, when there shall be among you no needy person, —for Yahweh will indeed bless, thee, in the land which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee as an inheritance to possess it:
5 Numai dacă vei da ascultare cu atenţie la vocea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, ca să iei seama să împlineşti toate aceste porunci pe care ţi le poruncesc astăzi.
only if thou do hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, —to observe to do—all this commandment which I am commanding thee to-day.
6 Pentru că DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te va binecuvânta, precum ţi-a promis şi vei da cu împrumut multor naţiuni, dar tu nu vei lua cu împrumut; şi tu vei stăpâni peste multe naţiuni, dar ele nu vor stăpâni peste tine.
When, Yahweh thy God, hath blessed thee, as he spake unto thee, then shalt thou lend unto many nations but thou, shalt not borrow, and, thou shalt rule over many nations but over thee, shall they not rule.
7 Dacă este printre voi un sărac, unul dintre fraţii tăi înăuntrul oricăreia dintre porţile tale din ţara ta, pe care ţi-o dă DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, să nu îţi împietreşti inima nici să nu îţi închizi mâna spre fratele tău sărac,
When there cometh to be among you a needy person any one of thy brethren within any one of thy gates, in thy land, which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee, thou shalt not harden thy heart nor shut thy hand from thy needy brother;
8 Ci să îţi deschizi larg mâna spre el şi să îl împrumuţi, într-adevăr, suficient pentru nevoia lui, în care duce lipsă.
but thou shalt, open, thy hand unto him, —and, lend, him enough to meet the poverty which doth impoverish him.
9 Ia seama să nu fie un gând în inima ta stricată, spunând: Se apropie anul al şaptelea, anul scutirii; şi ochiul tău să fie rău împotriva fratelui tău sărac şi să nu îi dai nimic, iar el să strige împotriva ta către DOMNUL şi să îţi fie păcat.
Take thou heed to thyself lest there be something near thine abandoned heart, saying—Drawing nigh, is the seventh year the year of release, and so thine eye be evil, against thy needy brother, and thou give not unto him, —and he cry out against thee unto Yahweh, and it become in thee a sin!
10 Să îi dai, într-adevăr, şi inima ta să nu fie mâhnită când îi dai, căci pentru lucrul acesta te va binecuvânta DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău în toate lucrările tale şi peste tot ce îţi vei pune mâna.
Thou shalt, give, unto him, and thy heart shall not be evil when thou givest unto him, —for on account of this very thing, will Yahweh thy God bless thee, in all that thou doest and in all whereunto thou puttest thy hand.
11 Pentru că săracii nu vor lipsi niciodată din ţara ta, de aceea îţi poruncesc, spunând: Să îţi deschizi mâna larg faţă de fratele tău, faţă de săracul tău şi faţă de nevoiaşul tău din ţara ta.
For the needy will not cease out of the midst of the land—for this cause, am I commanding thee, saying, Thou shalt open, thy hand unto thy brother to thy poor and to thy needy, in thy land.
12 Şi dacă fratele tău, un evreu sau o evreică, ţi se vinde ţie şi îţi serveşte şase ani, atunci în anul al şaptelea să îl laşi să plece liber de la tine.
When thy brother a Hebrew man (or a Hebrew woman) selleth himself unto thee, then shall he serve thee six years, —and in the seventh year, shalt thou let him go out free from thee;
13 Şi, când îl laşi să plece liber de la tine, să nu îl laşi să plece cu mâna goală,
and when thou lettest him go out free, from thee, thou shalt not let him go out empty:
14 Să îl aprovizionezi cu dărnicie din turma ta şi din aria ta şi din teascul tău, din tot ce te-a binecuvântat DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, să îi dai.
thou shalt, richly load, him out of thy flock, and out of thy threshing-floor and out of thy wine-vat, —of that wherewith Yahweh thy God hath blessed thee, shalt thou give unto him;
15 Şi să îţi aminteşti că ai fost rob în ţara Egiptului şi că DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te-a răscumpărat; de aceea îţi poruncesc acest lucru astăzi.
and thou shalt remember that a servant, thou wast in the land of Egypt, and that Yahweh thy God, redeemed thee, —for this cause, am I commanding thee this thing, to-day.
16 Şi să fie astfel, dacă el îţi spune: Nu voi ieşi de la tine, fiindcă te iubeşte pe tine şi casa ta, pentru că îi este bine cu tine;
And it shall be, if he shall say unto thee, I will not go away from thee, —because he loveth thee, and thy household, because he is well off with thee,
17 Atunci să iei o sulă şi să o împungi prin urechea lui la uşă şi să îţi fie servitor pentru totdeauna. Şi la fel să faci şi servitoarei tale.
then shalt thou take an awl and thrust it through his ear unto the door, so shall he be thy servant all his life. And unto thine handmaid also, shalt thou do thus.
18 Să nu îţi pară greu, când îl laşi să plece liber de la tine, pentru că, servindu-ţi şase ani, ţi-a fost dublul muncii unui servitor plătit; şi DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te va binecuvânta în tot ce faci.
It shall not be hard in thine eyes when thou lettest him go out free, from thee; for to the double of the hire of a hireling, hath he served thee six years, —so will Yahweh thy God bless thee, in all that thou doest.
19 Să sfinţeşti pentru DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău pe toţi întâii-născuţi de parte bărbătească din cireada ta şi din turma ta, să nu faci nicio lucrare cu întâiul-născut al taurului tău, nici să nu tunzi pe întâiul-născut al oii tale.
Every firstling that is brought forth in thy herd and in thy flock that is a male, shalt thou hallow unto Yahweh thy God, —thou shalt not work with a firstling of thine oxen, neither shalt thou shear a firstling of thy flock:
20 Să îl mănânci înaintea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău an după an, tu şi casa ta, în locul pe care îl va alege DOMNUL.
before Yahweh thy God, shalt thou eat it year by year, in the place which Yahweh shall choose, —thou, and thy household.
21 Iar dacă este vreun cusur în el, dacă este şchiop sau orb sau are orice cusur rău, să nu îl sacrifici DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău.
But, when there is in it any blemish, lameness or blindness, any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto Yahweh thy God:
22 Să îl mănânci înăuntrul porţilor tale, cel necurat şi cel curat deopotrivă, ca şi din căprioară şi din cerb.
within thine own gates, mayest thou eat it, —the unclean of you and the clean alike, as the gazelle and as the hart.
23 Numai să nu mănânci sângele lui; să îl verşi pe pământ, ca apa.
Only the blood thereof, shalt thou not eat, —on the earth, shalt thou pour it out like water.
