Deuteronomul 11

1 De aceea să iubeşti pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău şi să păzeşti întotdeauna însărcinarea lui şi statutele lui şi judecăţile lui şi poruncile lui.

You shall therefore love the LORD your God and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.

2 Şi să cunoaşteţi astăzi, pentru că nu vorbesc cu copiii voştri care nu au cunoscut şi care nu au văzut pedeapsa DOMNULUI Dumnezeul vostru, măreţia sa, mâna sa cea tare şi braţul său cel întins,

Know this day that it is not your children who have known and seen the discipline of the LORD your God: His greatness, His mighty hand, and His outstretched arm;

3 Şi miracolele sale şi faptele sale, pe care le-a făcut în mijlocul Egiptului lui Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, şi întregii lui ţări;

the signs and works He did in Egypt to Pharaoh king of Egypt and all his land;

4 Şi ce a făcut el armatei Egiptului, cailor lor şi carelor lor; cum a făcut ca apa Mării Roşii să îi potopească, pe când vă urmăreau, şi cum DOMNUL i-a nimicit până în această zi;

what He did to the Egyptian army and horses and chariots when He made the waters of the Red Sea engulf them as they pursued you, and how He destroyed them completely, even to this day;

5 Şi ce v-a făcut în pustiu, până când aţi ajuns în locul acesta;

what He did for you in the wilderness until you reached this place;

6 Şi ce a făcut lui Datan şi lui Abiram, copiii lui Eliab, fiul lui Ruben, cum pământul şi-a deschis gura şi i-a înghiţit cu familiile lor şi cu corturile lor şi cu toate averile lor, în mijlocul întregului Israel,

and what He did in the midst of all the Israelites to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab the Reubenite, when the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them, their households, their tents, and every living thing that belonged to them.

7 Dar ochii voştri au văzut toate faptele cele mari ale DOMNULUI, pe care el le-a făcut.

For it is your own eyes that have seen every great work that the LORD has done.

8 De aceea să păziţi toate poruncile pe care vi le poruncesc astăzi, ca să fiţi tari şi să intraţi şi să stăpâniţi ţara în care mergeţi să o stăpâniţi;

You shall therefore keep every commandment I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and possess the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,

9 Şi ca să vă lungiţi zilele în ţara, pe care DOMNUL a jurat părinţilor voştri să o dea, lor şi seminţei lor, ţară în care curge lapte şi miere.

and so that you may live long in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.

10 Pentru că ţara în care intri să o stăpâneşti, nu este ca ţara Egiptului, din care aţi ieşit, unde îţi semănai sămânţa şi o udai cu piciorul tău, ca pe o grădină de zarzavaturi,

For the land that you are entering to possess is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and irrigated on foot, like a vegetable garden.

11 Ci ţara în care mergeţi să o stăpâniţi, este o ţară cu dealuri şi văi şi care bea apă din ploaia cerului,

But the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks in the rain from heaven.

12 O ţară de care îngrijeşte DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, ochii DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău sunt întotdeauna asupra ei, de la începutul anului până la sfârşitul anului.

It is a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning to the end of the year.

13 Şi se va întâmpla, dacă veţi da ascultare cu atenţie la poruncile mele, pe care vi le poruncesc astăzi, să îl iubiţi pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul vostru şi să îi serviţi cu toată inima voastră şi cu tot sufletul vostru,

So if you carefully obey the commandments I am giving you today, to love the LORD your God and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,

14 Că eu voi da ţării voastre ploaie la timpul ei, ploaia timpurie şi ploaia târzie; ca să îţi strângi grânele tale şi vinul tău şi untdelemnul tău.

then I will provide rain for your land in season, the autumn and spring rains, that you may gather your grain, new wine, and oil.

15 Şi voi trimite iarbă pe câmpul tău pentru vitele tale şi vei mânca şi te vei sătura.

And I will provide grass in the fields for your livestock, and you will eat and be satisfied.

16 Luaţi seama la voi înşivă ca inima voastră să nu se înşele şi să vă abateţi şi să serviţi altor dumnezei şi să vă închinaţi lor;

But be careful that you are not enticed to turn aside to worship and bow down to other gods,

17 Şi atunci să se aprindă furia DOMNULUI împotriva voastră şi să închidă cerul, ca să nu fie ploaie şi ca pământul să nu îşi dea rodul lui şi să pieriţi repede din ţara cea bună pe care v-o dă DOMNUL.

or the anger of the LORD will be kindled against you. He will shut the heavens so that there will be no rain, nor will the land yield its produce, and you will soon perish from the good land that the LORD is giving you.

18 De aceea să puneţi aceste cuvinte ale mele în inima voastră şi în sufletul vostru şi să le legaţi ca semn pe mâna voastră şi să vă fie ca fruntarii între ochi.

Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.

19 Şi să le învăţaţi pe copiii voştri, vorbind despre ele când şezi în casa ta şi când mergi pe drum şi când te culci şi când te scoli.

Teach them to your children, speaking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

20 Şi să le scrii pe uşorii casei tale şi pe porţile tale,

Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates,

21 Ca zilele voastre şi zilele copiilor voştri să fie înmulţite cât zilele cerului deasupra pământului în ţara, pe care a jurat-o DOMNUL către părinţii voştri, că le-o va da.

so that as long as the heavens are above the earth, your days and those of your children may be multiplied in the land that the LORD swore to give your fathers.

22 Pentru că, dacă veţi păzi cu atenţie toate aceste porunci pe care vi le poruncesc, să le împliniţi, să iubiţi pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul vostru, să umblaţi în toate căile lui şi să vă alipiţi de el,

For if you carefully keep all these commandments I am giving you to follow—to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him—

23 Atunci DOMNUL va alunga toate aceste naţiuni dinaintea voastră şi veţi stăpâni naţiuni mai mari şi mai puternice decât voi.

then the LORD will drive out all these nations before you, and you will dispossess nations greater and stronger than you.

24 Fiecare loc unde va călca talpa piciorului vostru va fi al vostru, ţinutul vostru va fi de la pustiu şi Liban, de la râu, râul Eufrat, până la marea cea mai îndepărtată.

Every place where the sole of your foot treads will be yours. Your territory will extend from the wilderness to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Western Sea.

25 Nimeni nu va fi în stare să stea înaintea voastră, DOMNUL Dumnezeul vostru va pune teama de voi şi groaza de voi peste toată ţara pe care o veţi călca, precum v-a spus el.

No man will be able to stand against you; the LORD your God will put the fear and dread of you upon all the land, wherever you set foot, as He has promised you.

26 Iată, vă pun înainte astăzi şi binecuvântare şi blestem;

See, today I am setting before you a blessing and a curse—

27 Binecuvântare, dacă veţi asculta de poruncile DOMNULUI Dumnezeul vostru, pe care vi le poruncesc astăzi;

a blessing if you obey the commandments of the LORD your God that I am giving you today,

28 Şi blestem, dacă nu veţi asculta de poruncile DOMNULUI Dumnezeul vostru, ci vă veţi abate de la calea pe care v-o poruncesc astăzi, pentru a merge după alţi dumnezei, pe care nu i-aţi cunoscut.

but a curse if you disobey the commandments of the LORD your God and turn aside from the path I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known.

29 Şi se va întâmpla, când DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău te va fi dus în ţara în care intri ca să o stăpâneşti, că vei pune binecuvântarea pe muntele Garizim şi blestemul pe muntele Ebal.

When the LORD your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess, you are to proclaim the blessing on Mount Gerizim and the curse on Mount Ebal.

30 Nu sunt ei dincolo de Iordan, lângă calea unde soarele apune, în ţara canaaniţilor, care locuiesc în câmpie în dreptul Ghilgalului, lângă câmpiile lui More?

Are not these mountains across the Jordan, west of the road toward the sunset, in the land of the Canaanites who live in the Arabah opposite Gilgal near the Oak of Moreh?

31 Pentru că veţi trece Iordanul ca să intraţi şi să stăpâniţi ţara pe care v-o dă DOMNUL Dumnezeul vostru; şi o veţi stăpâni şi veţi locui în ea.

For you are about to cross the Jordan to enter and possess the land that the LORD your God is giving you. When you take possession of it and settle in it,

32 Şi să luaţi seama să împliniţi toate statutele şi judecăţile pe care vi le pun astăzi înainte.

be careful to follow all the statutes and ordinances that I am setting before you today.
