Amos 3

1 Ascultați acest cuvânt pe care DOMNUL l-a vorbit împotriva voastră, copii ai lui Israel, împotriva întregii familii pe care am adus-o din țara Egiptului, spunând:

Sones of Israel, here ye the word which the Lord spak on you, and on al the kynrede, which Y ledde out of the lond of Egipt,

2 Doar pe voi v-am cunoscut dintre toate familiile pământului; de aceea vă voi pedepsi pentru toate nelegiuirile voastre.

and seide, Oneli Y knewe you of alle the kynredis of erthe; therfor Y schal visite on you alle youre wickidnessis.

3 Pot doi să meargă împreună, fără să se fi învoit?

Whether tweyne schulen go togidere, no but it acorde to hem?

4 Va răcni un leu în pădure când nu are pradă? Va striga un leu tânăr din vizuina lui, dacă nu a prins nimic?

Whether a lioun schal rore in a forest, no but he haue prey? Whether the whelp of a lioun schal yyue vois fro his denne, no but he take ony thing?

5 Poate o pasăre să cadă într-o cursă pe pământ, când nu este laț pentru ea? Va trage cineva cursa de pe pământ, fără să fi prins nimic?

Whether a brid schal falle in to a snare of erthe, with outen a foulere? Whether a snare schal be takun awei fro erthe, bifor that it tak sum thing?

6 Se va suna din trâmbiță în cetate fără ca poporul să se teamă? Va fi vreun rău într-o cetate fără ca DOMNUL să îl fi făcut?

Whether a trumpe schal sowne in a citee, and the puple schal not drede? Whether yuel schal be in a citee, which yuel the Lord schal not make?

7 Într-adevăr Domnul DUMNEZEU nu va face nimic fără să își reveleze taina lui servitorilor săi, profeții.

For the Lord God schal not make a word, no but he schewe his priuyte to hise seruauntis profetis.

8 Leul a răcnit, cine nu se va teme? Domnul DUMNEZEU a vorbit, cine poate să nu profețească?

A lioun schal rore, who schal not drede? the Lord God spak, who schal not profesie?

9 Vestiți în palatele din Asdod și în palatele din țara Egiptului și spuneți: Adunați-vă pe munții Samariei și priviți marile tumulturi din mijlocul ei și pe cei oprimați din mijlocul ei.

Make ye herd in the housis of Azotus, and in the housis of the lond of Egipt; and seie ye, Be ye gaderid togidere on the hillis of Samarye, and se ye many woodnessis in the myddis therof, and hem that suffren fals calenge in the priuy places therof.

10 Fiindcă ei nu știu să lucreze drept, spune DOMNUL, cei care strâng violența și jefuirea în palatele lor.

And thei kouden not do riytful thing, seith the Lord, and tresouriden wickidnesse and raueyn in her housis.

11 De aceea astfel spune Domnul DUMNEZEU: Un potrivnic va fi chiar de jur împrejurul țării; și el îți va doborî puterea și palatele tale vor fi prădate.

Therfor the Lord God seith these thingis, The lond schal be troblid, and be cumpassid; and thi strengthe schal be drawun doun of thee, and thin housis schulen be rauyschid.

12 Astfel spune DOMNUL: Precum păstorul scoate din gura leului două picioare sau o bucată dintr-o ureche; tot astfel vor fi scoși, copiii lui Israel, care locuiesc în Samaria în colțul patului și în Damasc pe un divan.

The Lord God seith these thingis, As if a schepherd rauyschith fro the mouth of a lioun tweyne hipis, ether the laste thing of the eere, so the children of Israel schulen be rauyschid, that dwellen in Samarie, in the cuntrei of bed, and in the bed of Damask.

13 Ascultați și mărturisiți în casa lui Iacob, spune Domnul DUMNEZEU, Dumnezeul oștirilor:

Here ye, and witnesse ye in the hous of Jacob, seith the Lord God of oostis.

14 Că în ziua în care voi cerceta fărădelegile lui Israel asupra lui, voi cerceta de asemenea altarele din Betel; și coarnele altarului vor fi retezate și vor cădea la pământ.

15 Și voi lovi casa de iarnă împreună cu casa de vară; și casele de fildeș vor pieri și casele mari vor avea sfârșit, spune DOMNUL.

And Y schal smyte the wynter hous with the somer hous, and the housis of yuer schulen perische, and many housis schulen be distried, seith the Lord.
