Faptele 5
1 Dar un anumit bărbat, numit Anania, cu soția lui, Safira, au vândut o proprietate,
NOW a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, had sold an estate,
2 Și a păstrat din preț, soția lui știind și ea în ascuns; și au adus o anumită parte și au pus-o la picioarele apostolilor.
and secreted a part of the price paid, his wife also being privy to the transaction, and he brought a part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
3 Dar Petru a spus: Anania, de ce ți-a umplut Satan inima să îl minți pe Duhul Sfânt și să păstrezi din prețul pământului?
But Peter said, O Ananias! why hath Satan filled thy heart that thou shouldst lie to the Holy Ghost, and secrete something from the price of the estate?
4 Cât timp îți rămânea, nu rămânea al tău? Și după ce a fost vândut, nu a fost în propria ta putere? De ce ai conceput lucrul acesta în inima ta? Nu pe oameni ai mințit, ci pe Dumnezeu.
it remained unsold, was it not vested in thee? and when sold, was it not in thine own power? why then hast thou determined in thine heart to do this deed? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 Iar Anania, auzind aceste cuvinte, a căzut jos și și-a dat duhul; și mare frică a venit peste cei ce au auzit acestea.
Then Ananias, hearing those words, sunk down and expired: and great dread fell upon all who heard these things.
6 Și tinerii s-au sculat, l-au învelit și l-au dus afară și l-au îngropat.
Then the young men arose, and swathed him up, and carrying him out, buried him.
7 Și s-a întâmplat, cam la trei ore după aceea, că a intrat soția lui, neștiind ce s-a făcut.
Now it came to pass at the distance of about three hours, his wife also, not knowing what had passed, came in.
8 Iar Petru i-a răspuns: Spune-mi dacă cu atât ați vândut pământul? Iar ea a spus: Da, cu atât.
And Peter addressed her, Tell me, if ye sold the estate for so much? And she said, Yes, for so much.
9 Atunci Petru i-a spus: Cum de v-ați înțeles voi împreună să îl ispitiți pe Duhul Domnului? Iată, picioarele celor care l-au îngropat pe soțul tău sunt la ușă și te vor duce afară.
Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have conspired together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? see, the feet of them who have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 Atunci, îndată a căzut jos la picioarele lui și și-a dat duhul; și tinerii au intrat și au găsit-o moartă și ducând-o afară, au îngropat-o lângă soțul ei.
Then she fell instantly at his feet, and expired: and the young men entering, found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her with her husband.
11 Și mare frică a venit peste toată biserica și peste toți câți au auzit acestea.
And great awe fell on all the Church, and on all who heard these things.
12 Și prin mâinile apostolilor s-au făcut multe semne și minuni în popor; (și toți erau cu un gând în porticul lui Solomon.
But by the hands of the apostles were many signs and miracles done among the people; (and they were all with one accord in the portico of Solomon.
13 Dar dintre ceilalți nu cuteza niciun om să li se alăture; dar poporul îi preamărea.
But of the rest no man had the courage to unite himself with them: though the people extolled them.
14 Și tot mai mulți credincioși erau adăugați Domnului, mulțimi deopotrivă de bărbați și femei).
But believers on the Lord were abundantly added to them, multitudes, both of men and women.)
15 Într-atât de mult încât duceau afară în străzi pe bolnavi și îi puneau pe paturi și pe saltele, ca măcar umbra lui Petru, trecând pe acolo, să îi poată învălui pe unii din ei.
Insomuch that they carried out into the streets the sick, and laid them on beds and couches, that when Peter was coming by, if but even his shadow might pass over some of them.
16 Și a venit de asemenea o mulțime din cetățile din jur la Ierusalim, aducându-i bolnavi și pe cei care erau chinuiți de duhuri necurate; și toți au fost vindecați.
Then came together also a multitude from the neighbouring cities to Jerusalem, bringing the sick, and those who were disturbed by unclean spirits; who were healed universally.
17 Atunci marele preot s-a sculat și toți cei împreună cu el, (aceștia fiind partida saducheilor) și au fost umpluți de indignare;
Then arose the high-priest, and all those who were connected with him, (which was the sect of the Sadducees, ) and were filled with zeal,
18 Și și-au pus mâinile pe apostoli și i-au pus în închisoarea comună.
and laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
19 Dar îngerul Domnului, în timpul nopții, a deschis ușile închisorii și i-a condus afară și a spus:
But the angel of the Lord by night opened the doors of the prison, and conducting them forth, said,
20 Duceți-vă, stați în picioare și vorbiți poporului în templu toate cuvintele vieții acesteia.
Go, and taking your station in the temple, speak to the people all the words of this life.
21 Și, când au auzit, au intrat în templu devreme dimineața și îi învățau. Dar marele preot și cei cu el, au venit și au convocat consiliul și întreg sfatul bătrânilor copiilor lui Israel și au trimis la închisoare să îi aducă.
Having heard this therefore, they entered very early in the morning into the temple, and taught. But when the high-priest came, and those who were with him, they convoked the sanhedrim, and all the assembly of elders of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to bring them.
22 Și când ofițerii au venit și nu i-au găsit în închisoare, s-au întors și au povestit,
But the officers, on their arrival, found them not in the prison: and returning, informed them,
23 Spunând: Într-adevăr, am găsit închisoarea închisă cu toate în siguranță și paznicii stând afară în fața ușilor; dar când am deschis, nu am găsit pe nimeni înăuntru.
saying; The prison indeed found we fast locked with all security, and the guards standing without, before the door: but when we opened it, we found no person within.
24 Și când marele preot și căpetenia templului și preoții de seamă au auzit aceste cuvinte, erau nedumeriți referitor la ei până unde se va ajunge cu aceasta.
Now when they heard these words, both the priest and captain of the temple and the chief priests were in the utmost perplexity concerning these things, what could be the meaning of it.
25 Atunci a venit unul și le-a povestit, spunând: Iată, bărbații pe care i-ați pus în închisoare stau în picioare în templu și învață poporul.
Then came a person and informed them, saying, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.
26 Atunci s-a dus căpetenia împreună cu ofițerii și i-au adus fără violență fiindcă se temeau de popor, ca nu cumva să fie împroșcați cu pietre.
Then went the captain, with the officers, and brought them; not forcibly, for they were afraid of the people, lest they should stone them.
27 Și după ce i-au adus, i-au așezat în fața consiliului; și marele preot i-a întrebat,
But when they had conducted them, they placed them in the sanhedrim: and the high-priest interrogated them,
28 Spunând: Nu v-am poruncit noi cu tărie să nu îi învățați în numele acesta? Și iată, ați umplut Ierusalimul cu doctrina voastră și vreți să aduceți sângele acestui om peste noi.
saying, Did we not lay our strict injunction upon you, that you should not teach in this name? and, lo, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and would fain bring this man’s blood upon us.
29 Atunci Petru și apostolii au răspuns și au zis: Trebuie să ascultăm de Dumnezeu mai degrabă decât de oameni.
Then Peter and the apostles answering said, We must obey God rather than men.
30 Dumnezeul părinților noștri l-a înviat pe Isus, pe care l-ați ucis, atârnându-[l] pe lemn.
The God of our fathers hath raised up Jesus, whom ye had killed, suspending him on a tree.
31 Pe el l-a înălțat Dumnezeu cu dreapta sa pentru a fi Prinț și Salvator, pentru a da pocăință lui Israel și iertarea păcatelor.
Him hath God exalted at his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, to give repentance unto Israel, and remission of sins.
32 Și noi suntem martorii lui despre aceste lucruri; și la fel este Duhul Sfânt, pe care l-a dat Dumnezeu celor ce ascultă de el.
And we are witnesses of these things; and the Holy Ghost also, which God hath given to those who obey him.
33 Când au auzit, îi tăia la inimă și s-au sfătuit să îi ucidă.
But when they heard this, they were cut asunder as with a saw, and took counsel how to make away with them.
34 Atunci s-a sculat unul în consiliu, un fariseu, numit Gamaliel, un învățător al legii, onorat printre toți oamenii și a poruncit să îi scoată puțin afară pe apostoli.
Then arose a certain Pharisee, in the sanhedrim, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, held in high esteem by all the people, and ordered the apostles to be taken out for a little space;
35 Și le-a spus: Voi bărbați ai Israelului, aveți grijă la voi înșivă ce vreți să faceți în legătură cu acești oameni.
and he said unto them, Men of Israel, take heed to yourselves respecting these men, what ye mean to do to them.
36 Fiindcă înainte de aceste zile s-a sculat Teuda, lăudându-se a fi cineva, la care s-au unit un număr de bărbați, aproape patru sute. Acesta a fost ucis, și toți câți ascultau de el, au fost împrăștiați și făcuți de nimic.
For before these days arose Theudas, saying that he himself was a singular personage: to whom a number of men, about four hundred, attached themselves: who was taken off; and as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nothing.
37 După acesta s-a sculat Iuda din Galileea, în zilele impozitării, și a atras mult popor după el; și el a pierit; și toți câți ascultau de el au fost risipiți.
And after him arose Judas the Galilean, in the days of the enrolment, and drew away a multitude of the populace after him: he also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
38 Și acum vă spun: Depărtați-vă de acești oameni și lăsați-i în pace, pentru că dacă acest sfat sau această lucrare este de la oameni, va fi nimicită.
And as to the matters now before you, I say unto you, Abstain from these men, and leave them to themselves: for if this design or this work be of men, it will come to nothing:
39 Dar dacă este din Dumnezeu, nu sunteți în stare să o doborâți; ca nu cumva, să vă aflați luptând chiar împotriva lui Dumnezeu.
but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; and in that case would be found fighters against God.
40 Și au fost de acord cu el; și după ce i-au chemat pe apostoli și i-au bătut, le-au poruncit să nu vorbească în numele lui Isus; și le-au dat drumul.
And to him they assented: and calling in the apostles, after scourging them, they commanded them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and dismissed them.
41 Și au plecat atunci din fața consiliului, bucurându-se că au fost socotiți demni să îndure rușine pentru numele lui.
Then they went rejoicing from the presence of the sanhedrim, that for his name’s sake, they had been counted worthy to suffer this injurious treatment.
42 Și în fiecare zi, în templu și în fiecare casă, nu încetau să îi învețe și să îl predice pe Isus Cristos.
And all the day long in the temple, and from house to house, they never ceased teaching and preaching Jesus Christ.
