Faptele 11
1 Și apostolii și frații care erau în Iudeea, au auzit că și neamurile au primit cuvântul lui Dumnezeu.
Now the Apostles and the brethren who were throughout Judaea heard that, the nations also, had welcomed the word of God.
2 Și când Petru a urcat la Ierusalim, cei ai circumciziei s-au certat cu el,
And, when Peter came up unto Jerusalem, they of the circumcision began to find fault with him,
3 Spunând: Ai intrat la bărbați necircumciși și ai mâncat cu ei.
Saying—he went in unto men uncircumcised, and did eat with them.
4 Dar Petru a luat-o de la început și le-a explicat pe rând, spunând:
But Peter, making a beginning, went on to set forth the matter unto them in order, saying—
5 Eram în cetatea Iafo, rugându-mă; și într-un extaz am văzut o viziune: Un fel de vas a coborât, ca și cum ar fi fost o pânză mare, lăsată din cer de patru colțuri, și a venit până la mine;
I was in the city of Joppa praying, and saw in a trance, a vision: —coming down a sort of vessel, like a large sheet, by four corners, being let down out of heaven, and it came even unto me:
6 Asupra căreia, când mi-am ațintit ochii, mi-am dat seama și am văzut patrupede ale pământului, sălbăticiuni și târâtoare și păsări ale văzduhului.
Into which steadfastly looking, began to observe, and saw the quadrupeds of the earth, and the wild beasts, and the creeping things, and the birds of heaven.
7 Și am auzit o voce, spunându-mi: Scoală-te, Petre; ucide și mănâncă.
Moreover heard a voice also, saying unto me—Rise, Peter! slay and eat.
8 Dar eu am spus: Nicidecum, Doamne, pentru că nimic profan sau necurat nu a intrat niciodată în gura mea.
But I said—By no means, Lord, because, a common or unclean thing, hath at no time entered into my mouth.
9 Dar vocea mi-a răspuns din nou din cer: Ce Dumnezeu a curățit, nu considera profan.
And a voice answered, a second time, out of heaven—What things, God, hath cleansed, be not, thou, making common.
10 Și aceasta s-a făcut de trei ori; și toate au fost retrase în cer.
And, this, took place thrice, —and the whole was drawn up again into heaven;
11 Și iată, îndată au fost acolo trei bărbați sosiți deja la casa unde eram, trimiși din Cezareea la mine.
And lo! immediately, three men halted at the house wherein we were, sent from Caesarea unto me.
12 Și Duhul mi-a poruncit să merg cu ei, fără să mă îndoiesc de nimic. Și acești șase frați de asemenea m-au însoțit și noi am intrat în casa acestui bărbat;
And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. And there went with me these six brethren also; and we entered into the house of the man,
13 Și ne-a arătat cum a văzut îngerul în casa lui, care a stat în picioare și i-a spus: Trimite bărbați la Iafo și cheamă pe Simon, al cărui nume [este și] Petru;
And he related to us how he had seen the messenger in his house, standing, and saying—Send away unto Joppa, and fetch Simon, who is surnamed Peter;
14 Care îți va vorbi cuvinte, prin care vei fi salvat, tu, și toată casa ta.
Who shall speak words unto thee, whereby thou shall be saved, thou, and all thy house.
15 Și pe când am început să vorbesc, Duhul Sfânt a căzut peste ei, chiar așa ca și peste noi la început.
And, as I began to be speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, just as upon us also at the beginning.
16 Atunci mi-am amintit cuvântul Domnului, cum spunea: Ioan, într-adevăr, a botezat cu apă; dar voi veți fi botezați cu Duhul Sfânt.
And I was put in mind of the word of the Lord, how he used to say—John, indeed, immersed with water; but, ye, shall be immersed in Holy Spirit.
17 Întrucât, atunci, așa cum le-a dat Dumnezeu același dar, ca și nouă, care am crezut pe Domnul Isus Cristos; ce eram eu, ca să mă împotrivesc lui Dumnezeu?
If therefore the like free-gift God gave unto them, as even unto us, when we had believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ, who was, I, that could withstand God?
18 Când au auzit acestea, au tăcut și au glorificat pe Dumnezeu, spunând: Într-adevăr Dumnezeu a dat și neamurilor pocăința pentru viață.
And, having heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying—Hence, even unto the nations, God hath granted repentance unto life.
19 Atunci cei împrăștiați din cauza persecuției iscate în cazul lui Ștefan, au ajuns până în Fenicia și Cipru și Antiohia, nepredicând cuvântul nimănui decât numai iudeilor.
They, therefore, who had been scattered abroad by reason of the tribulation that took place on account of Stephen, passed through as far as Phoenice and Cyprus and Antioch, unto no one speaking the word, save alone unto Jews.
20 Și unii dintre ei erau bărbați din Cipru și Cirene, care, când au venit la Antiohia, au vorbit grecilor, predicând pe Domnul Isus.
And there were some from among them, Cyprians and Cyrenians, who, indeed, coming unto Antioch, began speaking, even unto the Grecian Jews, announcing the glad tidings as to the Lord Jesus;
21 Și mâna Domnului era cu ei; și un număr mare au crezut și s-au întors la Domnul.
And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number—they who believed—turned unto the Lord.
22 Atunci vești despre aceste lucruri au ajuns la urechile bisericii care era în Ierusalim; și au trimis pe Barnaba, ca să treacă până în Antiohia,
And the matter was reported in the hearing of the assembly that was in Jerusalem, concerning them; and they sent forth Barnabas, as far as Antioch;
23 Care, ajungând și văzând harul lui Dumnezeu, s-a bucurat și i-a îndemnat pe toți să se lipească de Domnul cu hotărâre de inimă;
Who, arriving, and seeing the favour which was of God, rejoiced, and went on to beseech all, with the purpose of their heart, to abide [in] the Lord;
24 Pentru că era un bărbat bun și plin de Duhul Sfânt și de credință; și o mare mulțime a fost adăugată la Domnul.
Because he was a good man, and full of Holy Spirit and faith; and a considerable multitude were added unto the Lord.
25 Atunci Barnaba a plecat la Tars, ca să îl caute pe Saul.
He went away, however, unto Tarsus, to seek up Saul;
26 Și după ce l-a găsit, l-a adus la Antiohia. Și s-a întâmplat că un an întreg ei s-au adunat cu biserica și au învățat o mare mulțime. Și discipolii au fost numiți creștini pentru prima dată în Antiohia.
And, finding him, he brought him unto Antioch. And so it was with them, that, for a whole year, they were brought together in the assembly, and taught a considerable multitude; also that the disciples, first in Antioch, were called, Christians.
27 Și în acele zile au coborât profeți de la Ierusalim la Antiohia.
Now, in these days, there came down from Jerusalem, prophets, unto Antioch.
28 Și s-a sculat unul dintre ei, numit Agab, arătând prin Duhul că va fi mare foamete în toată lumea, cum s-a și întâmplat în zilele lui Claudiu Cezar.
And one from among them, by name Agabus, rising up, gave a sign, through means of the Spirit, that, a great famine, was coming over all the inhabited earth; which, indeed, came to pass under Claudius.
29 Atunci discipolii, fiecare om conform puterii lui, au hotărât să trimită ajutor fraților care locuiau în Iudeea.
And, according as any one of the disciples was being prospered, they each one of them set apart [something] for ministering, to send unto the brethren, who dwelt in Jerusalem; —
30 Ceea ce au și făcut și l-au trimis la bătrâni prin mâna lui Barnaba și Saul.
Which thing they also did, sending it unto the Elders, through the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
