2 Samuel 9

1 Și David a spus: Mai este cineva care să fi rămas din casa lui Saul, ca să îi arăt bunătate din cauza lui Ionatan?

And David said, Is there yet one left unto the house of Saul, —that I may show him lovingkindness, for the sake of, Jonathan?

2 Și era din casa lui Saul un servitor al cărui nume era Țiba. Și când l-au chemat la David, împăratul i-a spus: Ești tu Țiba? Și el a spus: Al tău servitor.

Now, unto the house of Saul, belonged a servant, whose name, was Ziba, and, when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him—Art, thou, Ziba? And he said—Thy servant!

3 Și împăratul a spus: Mai este cineva din casa lui Saul, ca să îi arăt bunătatea lui Dumnezeu? Și Țiba a spus împăratului: Ionatan mai are încă un fiu, care este șchiop de picioare.

Then said the king—Is there never a man remaining unto the house of Saul, that I may show him the lovingkindness of God? And Ziba said unto the king, There remaineth a son unto Jonathan, lame in his feet.

4 Și împăratul i-a spus: Unde este el? Și Țiba a spus împăratului: Iată, el este în casa lui Machir, fiul lui Amiel, în Lodebar.

And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Lo! he, is in the house of Machir son of Ammiel, in Lo-debar.

5 Atunci împăratul David a trimis și l-a scos din casa lui Machir, fiul lui Amiel, din Lodebar.

Then sent King David, —and fetched him out of the house of Machir son of Ammiel, from Lo-debar.

6 Acum, când Mefiboșet, fiul lui Ionatan, fiul lui Saul, a venit la David, a căzut cu fața la pământ și s-a prosternat. Și David a spus: Mefiboșet. Iar el a răspuns: Iată, pe servitorul tău!

Now, when Mephibosheth, son of Jonathan, son of Saul, came in unto David, he fell on his face and did homage. And David said, Mephibosheth? And he said, Lo! thy servant.

7 Și David i-a spus: Nu te teme, pentru că îți voi arăta într-adevăr bunătate, de dragul lui Ionatan, tatăl tău, și îți voi da înapoi tot pământul lui Saul, tatăl tău; și tu vei mânca pâine la masa mea continuu.

And David said to him—Do not fear, for I will, indeed shew, thee lovingkindness, for the sake of Jonathan thy father, and will restore unto thee all the land of Saul thy father, —but, thou thyself, shall eat bread at my table, continually.

8 Și el s-a plecat și a spus: Ce este servitorul tău, ca să privești la un astfel de câine mort cum sunt eu?

And he did homage, and said—What is thy servant, —that thou hast turned towards such a dead dog as I?

9 Atunci împăratul l-a chemat pe Țiba, servitorul lui Saul, și i-a spus: Am dat fiului stăpânului tău tot ce a aparținut lui Saul și întregii sale case.

Then the king called for Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, —All that pertained unto Saul and unto all his house, have I given unto the son of thy lord:

10 Tu, de aceea, și fiii tăi și servitorii tăi, veți ara pământul pentru el și tu vei aduce roadele, ca fiul stăpânului tău să aibă mâncare să mănânce; dar Mefiboșet, fiul stăpânului tău, va mânca pâine întotdeauna la masa mea. Acum Țiba avea cincisprezece fii și douăzeci de servitori.

therefore shalt thou till for him the ground, thou, and thy sons, and thy servants, and shalt bring in, so that thy lord’s son may have bread to eat, but, Mephibosheth, thy lord’s son, shall continually eat bread at my table. Now, Ziba, had fifteen sons, and twenty servants.

11 Atunci Țiba a spus împăratului: Conform cu toate câte a poruncit domnul meu, împăratul, servitorului său, astfel va face servitorul tău. Cât despre Mefiboșet, a spus împăratul, el va mânca la masa mea, ca unul dintre fiii împăratului.

Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king shall command his servant, so, will thy servant do, —but, Mephibosheth, is to eat at the table of David, as one of the sons of the king.

12 Și Mefiboșet avea un fiu tânăr, al cărui nume era Mica. Și toți câți au locuit în casa lui Țiba erau servitori lui Mefiboșet.

Now, Mephibosheth, had a little son, whose name, was Micha. And, all that dwelt in the house of Ziba, were servants unto Mephibosheth.

13 Astfel Mefiboșet a locuit în Ierusalim, fiindcă mânca la masa împăratului continuu; și el era șchiop la ambele picioare.

So, Mephibosheth, dwelt in Jerusalem, for, at the table of the king, continually, had he to eat, —he being lame, in both his feet.
