2 Samuel 4
1 Și când fiul lui Saul a auzit că Abner a murit în Hebron, mâinile i-au slăbit; și toți israeliții au fost tulburați.

2 Și fiul lui Saul avea doi bărbați care erau căpetenii de cete: numele unuia era Baana și numele celuilalt, Recab, fiii lui Rimon, un beerotit, dintre copiii lui Beniamin; (fiindcă și Beerot era numărat la Beniamin;
Forsothe twei men, princes of theues, weren to the sone of Saul; name to oon was Baana, and name to the tother was Rechab, the sones of Remmon Berothite, of the sones of Beniamyn; for also Beroth is arettid in Beniamyn.

4 Și Ionatan, fiul lui Saul, avea un fiu care era șchiop de picioare. El era în vârstă de cinci ani când au venit veștile despre Saul și Ionatan din Izreel și dădaca lui l-a luat și a fugit; și s-a întâmplat, pe când se grăbea ea să fugă, că el a căzut și a devenit șchiop. Și numele lui era Mefiboșet.

Therfor his nurse took hym, and fledde; and whanne sche hastide to fle, sche felde doun, and the child was maad lame; and `he hadde a name Myphibosech.
5 Și fiii lui Rimon beerotitul, Recab și Baana, au mers și au ajuns pe la arșița zilei la casa lui Iș-Boșet, care era întins în pat la amiază.
Therfor Rechab and Baana, sones of Remmon of Beroth, camen, and entriden in the hoot dai in to the hows of Isbosech, that slepte on his bed in myd dai, `and the womman oischer of the hous clensynge wheete, slepte strongli.
6 Și au intrat acolo în mijlocul casei, ca și cum ar fi adus grâu; și l-au lovit sub a cincea coastă; și Recab și Baana, fratele său, au scăpat.

8 Și au adus capul lui Iș-Boșet la David la Hebron și au spus împăratului: Iată, capul lui Iș-Boșet, fiul lui Saul, dușmanul tău, care ți-a căutat viața; și DOMNUL a răzbunat pe domnul meu împăratul în această zi împotriva lui Saul și seminței lui.
And thei brouyten the heed of Isbosech to Dauid, in Ebron, and thei seiden to the kyng, Lo! the heed of Isbosech, sone of Saul, thin enemy, that souyte thi lijf; and the Lord yaf to dai to oure lord the kyng veniaunce of Saul and of his seed.
9 Și David le-a răspuns lui Recab și lui Baana, fratele său, fiilor lui Rimon beerotitul și le-a zis: Precum DOMNUL trăiește, care mi-a răscumpărat sufletul din orice restriște,
Forsothe Dauid answeride to Rechab, and Baana, his brother, the sones of Remmon of Beroth, and seide to hem, The Lord lyueth, that delyueride my lijf fro al angwisch;
10 Când cineva mi-a spus, zicând: Iată, Saul este mort, crezând că mi-a adus vești bune, l-am apucat și l-am ucis în Țiclag, el, care a crezut că îi voi da o răsplată pentru veștile lui;
for Y helde hym that telde to me, and seide, Saul is deed, which man gesside hym silf to telle prosperitees, and Y killide hym in Sichelech, to whom it bihofte me yyue meede for message;
11 Cu cât mai mult, când oameni stricați au ucis pe o persoană dreaptă în propria lui casă pe patul lui? Să nu cer eu de aceea sângele lui din mâna voastră și să nu vă iau de pe pământ?
hou myche more now, whanne wickid men han slayn a giltles man in his hows on his bed, schal I not seke his blood of youre hond, and schal Y do awey you fro erthe?
12 Și David a poruncit tinerilor săi și ei i-au ucis și le-au retezat mâinile și picioarele și i-au spânzurat deasupra iazului în Hebron. Dar au luat capul lui Iș-Boșet și l-au îngropat în mormântul lui Abner în Hebron.
Therfor Dauid comaundide to his children, and thei killiden hem; and thei kittiden awei the hondis and `feet of hem, and hangiden hem ouer the cisterne in Ebron. Forsothe thei token the heed of Isbosech, and birieden in the sepulcre of Abner, in Ebron.
