2 Petru 2
1 Dar au fost și falși profeți în popor, așa cum vor fi falși învățători printre voi, care vor introduce în ascuns erezii damnabile, negând chiar pe Domnul care i-a răscumpărat, și își aduc asupra lor o nimicire grabnică.
But there were indeed false prophets among the people of old, as there will be also among you false teachers, who will privately introduce pernicious heresies, denying even the Lord that bought them, and bringing upon themselves swift destruction,
2 Și mulți vor urma căile lor nimicitoare, din cauza cărora calea adevărului va fi vorbită de rău.
And many will follow their pernicious tenets, on whose account the way of truth will be reproached:
3 Și prin lăcomie, cu vorbe prefăcute, vor face comerț pe seama voastră; judecata lor din vechime nu întârzie, și damnarea lor nu ațipește.
and by artful speeches they will make sale of you for gain. Whose judgement is long since hastening, and their destruction doth not slumber.
4 Căci dacă Dumnezeu nu a cruțat îngerii care au păcătuit, ci i-a aruncat jos în iad și i-a predat în lanțurile întunericului, să fie păstrați pentru judecată, (Tartaroō g5020)
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgement; and if He spared not the old world, (Tartaroō g5020)
5 Și nu a cruțat vechea lume, ci l-a păzit pe Noe, al optulea om, un predicator al dreptății, aducând potopul asupra lumii celor neevlavioși;
(but preserved Noah an eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, ) bringing a deluge upon the world of the ungodly;
6 Și a prefăcut cetățile Sodomei și Gomorei în cenușă, le-a condamnat la dărâmare, făcându-le un exemplu pentru cei ce după aceea ar trăi fără evlavie;
and reducing the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha to ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those that should afterwards be impious;
7 Și a scăpat pe dreptul Lot, chinuit în comportarea desfrânată a celor stricați,
and delivered righteous Lot grieved at the lewd conversation of the wicked:
8 (Fiindcă acel bărbat drept, locuind printre ei, prin vedere și auzire își chinuia zi de zi sufletul lui drept cu faptele [lor] nelegiuite);
(for that good man by seeing and hearing their crimes, when he dwelt among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day with their
9 Domnul știe cum să scape pe cei evlavioși din ispite și să păstreze pe cei nedrepți pentru ziua judecății pentru a fi pedepsiți,
iniquitous deeds) then the Lord knoweth how to deliver the pious from temptation, and to reserve the wicked to the day of judgement to be punished:
10 Dar mai ales pe cei ce umblă după carne în pofta necurăției și disprețuiesc domnia. Înfumurați, încăpățânați, nu le este frică să vorbească rău despre demnități,
especially those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise authority; who, being audacious and self-willed, are not afraid to speak evil of dignities:
11 Pe când îngerii, care sunt mai mari în tărie și putere, nu aduc împotriva lor o acuzație defăimătoare înaintea Domnului.
whereas angels, who are greater in strength and power, bring not a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.
12 Dar aceștia, ca dobitoace fără rațiune din fire, făcute pentru a fi prinse și nimicite, vorbesc rău despre cele ce nu înțeleg; și vor pieri complet în propria lor corupție;
But these men, like brute beasts naturally produced to be taken and destroyed, speaking evil of things which they do not understand, shall perish by their own corruption; receiving the reward of their unrighteousness:
13 Și vor primi plata nedreptății ca unii care socotesc o plăcere să se destrăbăleze în timpul zilei. Pete și cusururi sunt ei, chefuind în propriile lor înșelăciuni în timp ce sărbătoresc împreună cu voi,
who account it a pleasure to riot even in the day; spots and disgraces; revelling in their frauds, while they partake of your feasts:
14 Având ochii plini de adulter și neputându-se opri de la păcat; seducând suflete nestatornice, având o inimă antrenată în practici lacome; copii blestemați,
having eyes full of adultery, and which cannot be restrained from sin: ensnaring unstable souls, and having a heart practised in rapine; cursed people:
15 Care au părăsit calea dreaptă și s-au rătăcit, urmând calea lui Balaam, fiul lui Bosor, care a iubit plata nedreptății,
who have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of iniquity;
16 Dar a fost mustrat pentru nelegiuirea sa, măgărița necuvântătoare, vorbind cu vocea omului, a oprit nebunia profetului.
but was reproved for his transgression: for a dumb beast speaking with the voice of a man checked the madness of the prophet.
17 Aceștia sunt fântâni fără apă, nori purtați de furtună, cărora negura întunericului le este rezervată pentru totdeauna.
These are wells without water, clouds driven by a storm, for whom thick darkness is reserved for ever. (questioned)
18 Căci ei, vorbind cuvinte umflate ale deșertăciunii, seduc prin poftele cărnii, prin multă desfrânare, pe cei ce, într-adevăr, au scăpat de cei ce trăiesc în rătăcire.
For when they speak swelling words of vanity, they ensnare in the lusts of the flesh, through their lasciviousness, those who had indeed withdrawn from such as deal in error;
19 În timp ce le promit libertate, ei înșiși sunt robi ai corupției; fiindcă de către cel ce este cineva învins, de acela este [și] dus în robie.
promising them liberty, while they themselves are the slaves of corruption: for by whom any one is vanquished, by him he is also enslaved.
20 Căci, scăpând de stricăciunile lumii prin cunoașterea Domnului și Salvatorului Isus Cristos, dacă sunt din nou încurcați în acestea și învinși, starea lor de pe urmă este mai rea decât cea dintâi.
For if, after they had escaped the pollutions of the world, through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled and vanquished by them, their last state is worse than the first;
21 Fiindcă ar fi fost mai bine pentru ei să nu fi cunoscut calea dreptății, decât, după ce au cunoscut-o, să se întoarcă de la sfânta poruncă ce le-a fost dată.
for it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than when they knew it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
22 Dar li s-a întâmplat conform cu adevăratul proverb: Câinele se întoarce la vărsătura lui, și scroafa scăldată, la tăvăleala ei în mocirlă.
But it is happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog is returned to his own vomit, and, The swine that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
