1 Atunci Solomon a început construirea casei DOMNULUI la Ierusalim, pe muntele Moria, unde DOMNUL i s-a arătat lui David, tatăl său, în locul pe care David l-a pregătit în aria lui Ornan iebusitul.
Then Solomon began building the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared to his father David. This was the place that David had provided—the former threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
2 Și a început să construiască în a doua zi a lunii a doua, în al patrulea an al domniei lui.
Solomon began construction on the second day of the second month in his fourth year as king.
3 Și în acestea Solomon a fost instruit pentru construirea casei lui Dumnezeu: lungimea în coți, după prima măsură, era șaizeci de coți și lățimea douăzeci de coți;
The size of the foundation Solomon laid for the Temple of God was sixty cubits long and twenty cubits wide, (according to the old cubit measurement).

The front porch that ran across the width of the Temple was twenty cubits long and twenty cubits high. He covered the inside of the porch with pure gold.

He paneled the main room with cypress overlaid with fine gold, with images of palm trees and chains.
6 Și a împodobit casa cu pietre prețioase, pentru frumusețe; și aurul era aur din Parvaim.
He decorated the Temple with beautiful gems, and with gold he imported from Parvaim.
7 Și a placat de asemenea casa, bârnele, stâlpii și zidurile ei și ușile ei, cu aur; și a cioplit heruvimi pe pereți.
He covered the beams, thresholds, walls, and doors of the Temple with gold, and he carved cherubim on the walls.
8 Și a făcut casa preasfântă, lungimea ei fiind conform lățimii casei, douăzeci de coți și lățimea ei douăzeci de coți; și a placat-o cu aur pur, ridicându-se la șase sute de talanți.
He made the room of the Most Holy Place to correspond with the width of the Temple—twenty cubits long and twenty cubits wide. He covered the interior with six hundred talents of fine gold.
9 Și greutatea cuielor era de cincizeci de șekeli de aur. Și a placat camerele de sus cu aur.
The weight of the nails was one shekel for every fifty shekels of gold.
10 Și în casa preasfântă a făcut doi heruvimi din lucrare cioplită și i-a placat cu aur.
He made for the Most Holy Place two wooden cherubim covered with gold.
11 Și aripile heruvimilor aveau lungimea de douăzeci de coți: o aripă a unui heruvim avea cinci coți, ajungând la zidul casei, și cealaltă aripă avea de asemenea cinci coți, ajungând la aripa celuilalt heruvim.
The wingspan of the cherubim together was twenty cubits. One wing of the first cherub was five cubits long and touched one Temple wall, while its other wing, also five cubits long, and touched the second cherub.

In similar fashion, one wing of the second cherub was five cubits long and touched one Temple wall, while its other wing, also five cubits long, and touched the first cherub.

So the wingspan of these cherubim together was twenty cubits. They stood on their feet, facing the main room.

He made the veil of blue, purple, and crimson embroidery on fine linen, with images of cherubim on it.
15 De asemenea a făcut înaintea casei doi stâlpi înalți de treizeci și cinci de coți, și capitelul care era pe capătul de sus al fiecăruia, era de cinci coți.
He made two columns for the front of the Temple, thirty-five cubits, each having a capital five cubits high.
16 Și a făcut lanțuri, ca în oracol, și le-a pus pe capitelurile stâlpilor; și a făcut o sută de rodii și le-a pus pe lanțuri.
He made chains like in the Most Holy Place and he placed them on top of the columns. He also made one hundred ornamental pomegranates and attached them to each chain.
17 Și a ridicat stâlpii înaintea templului, unul pe dreapta și celălalt pe stânga; și a pus numele celui din dreapta, Iachin, și numele celui din stânga, Boaz.
He set up the columns in front of the Temple, one on the south, and one on the north. The column on the south he named Jachin, and the column on the north he named Boaz.
