2 Cronici 22
1 Și locuitorii Ierusalimului l-au făcut pe Ahazia, cel mai tânăr fiu al său, împărat în locul său, fiindcă ceata care a venit cu arabii în tabără au ucis pe toți cei mai în vârstă. Astfel a domnit Ahazia, fiul lui Ioram, împăratul lui Iuda.
And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ochozias his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of robbers that came against them, even the Arabians and the Alimazonians, had slain all the elder ones. So Ochozias son of Joram king of Juda reigned.
2 Ahazia a fost în vârstă de patruzeci și doi de ani când a început să domnească și a domnit un an în Ierusalim. Și numele mamei lui era Atalia, fiica lui Omri.
Ochozias began to reign when he was twenty years old, and he reigned one year in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Gotholia, the daughter of Ambri.
3 El de asemenea a umblat în căile casei lui Ahab, fiindcă mama lui i-a dat sfat să facă rău.
And he walked in the way of the house of Achaab; for his mother was his counsellor to do evil.
4 De aceea, a făcut ce este rău înaintea ochilor DOMNULUI precum a făcut casa lui Ahab, fiindcă ei i-au dat sfat după moartea tatălui său, spre nimicirea lui.
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord as the house of Achaab [had done]: for they were his counselors after the death of his father to his destruction.
5 A umblat de asemenea după sfatul lor și a mers cu Ioram, fiul lui Ahab, împăratul lui Israel, să se războiască împotriva lui Hazael, împăratul Siriei, la Ramot-Galaad, și sirienii l-au lovit pe Ioram.
And he walked in their counsels, and he went with Joram son of Achaab king of Israel to war against Azael king of Syria to Ramoth Galaad: and the archers smote Joram.
6 Și s-a întors să fie vindecat în Izreel din cauza rănilor care i-au fost făcute la Rama, când a luptat cu Hazael, împăratul Siriei. Și Azaria, fiul lui Ioram, împăratul lui Iuda, a coborât să îl vadă pe Ioram, fiul lui Ahab, la Izreel, pentru că era bolnav.
And Joram returned to Jezrael to be healed of the wounds wherewith the Syrians smote him in Ramoth, when he fought against Azael king of Syria. And Ochozias son of Joram, king of Juda, went down to see Joram the son of Achaab at Jezrael because he was sick.
7 Și nimicirea lui Ahazia, venind la Ioram, era de la Dumnezeu, deoarece când a venit, a ieșit cu Ioram împotriva lui Iehu, fiul lui Nimși, pe care DOMNUL l-a uns pentru a stârpi casa lui Ahab.
And destruction from God came upon Ochozias in [his] coming to Joram; for when he had come, Joram went out with him against Jeu the son of Namessei, the anointed of the Lord against the house of Achaab.
8 Și s-a întâmplat, pe când Iehu făcea judecată asupra casei lui Ahab și a găsit pe prinții lui Iuda și pe fiii fraților lui Ahazia, care au servit lui Ahazia, că i-a ucis.
And it came to pass, when Jeu was taking vengeance on the house of Achaab, that he found the princes of Juda and the brethren of Ochozias ministering to Ochozias, and he slew them.
9 Și a căutat pe Ahazia și l-au prins (pentru că era ascuns în Samaria) și l-au adus la Iehu; și după ce l-au ucis, l-au îngropat, deoarece, au spus ei, este fiul lui Iosafat, care a căutat pe DOMNUL cu toată inima lui. Astfel casa lui Ahazia nu a mai avut putere să țină împărăția.
And he gave orders to seek Ochozias: and they took him while he was healing his wounds in Samaria, and they brought him to Jeu, and he slew him; and they buried him, for they said, He is the son of Josaphat, who sought the Lord with all his heart. So there was none in the house of Ochozias to secure their power in the kingdom.
10 Dar când Atalia, mama lui Ahazia, a văzut că fiul ei era mort, s-a ridicat și a nimicit toată sămânța împărătească din casa lui Iuda.
And Gotholia the mother of Ochozias saw that her son was dead, and she arose and destroyed all the seed royal in the house of Juda.
11 Dar Ioșabeat, fiica împăratului, a luat pe Ioas, fiul lui Ahazia, și l-a luat pe furiș dintre fiii împăratului care au fost uciși și l-a pus pe el și pe dădaca lui într-o cameră de dormit. Astfel Ioșabeat, fiica împăratului Ioram, soția preotului Iehoiada (căci era sora lui Ahazia) l-a ascuns de Atalia, astfel că ea nu l-a ucis.
But Josabeeth, the daughter of the king, took Joas the son of Ochozias and rescued him secretly out of the midst of the sons of the king that were put to death, and she placed him and his nurse in a bedchamber. So Josabeeth daughter of king Joram, sister of Ochozias, wife of Jodae the priest, hid him, and she [even] hid him from Gotholia, and she did not slay him.
12 Și el a fost cu ei ascuns în casa lui Dumnezeu, șase ani; și Atalia a domnit peste țară.
And he was with him hid in the house of God six years; and Gotholia reigned over the land.
