2 Cronici 19
1 Și Iosafat, împăratul lui Iuda, s-a întors la casa lui, în pace, în Ierusalim.
And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace, to Jerusalem.
2 Și Iehu, fiul lui Hanani, văzătorul, a ieșit să îl întâmpine și a spus împăratului Iosafat: Este drept să ajuți pe cei neevlavioși și să îi iubești pe cei care urăsc pe DOMNUL? De aceea este furie peste tine dinaintea DOMNULUI.
And there came out to meet him Jehu the son of Chanani the seer, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldst thou help the wicked, and love those that hate the Lord? and because of this there is wrath over thee from before the Lord.
3 Totuși s-au găsit lucruri bune în tine, în aceea că ai îndepărtat dumbrăvile din țară și ți-ai pregătit inima să cauți pe Dumnezeu.
Nevertheless there are good things found on thee; because thou hast removed the Asheroth out of the land, and hast directed thy heart firmly to seek God.
4 Și Iosafat a locuit la Ierusalim și a ieșit din nou prin poporul de la Beer-Șeba la muntele Efraim și i-a adus înapoi la DOMNUL Dumnezeul părinților lor.
And Jehoshaphat remained at Jerusalem; but he went out again through the people from Beer-sheba' as far as the mountain of Ephraim, and caused them to return unto the Lord the God of their fathers.
5 Și a așezat judecători în țară prin toate cetățile întărite din Iuda, cetate de cetate,
And he appointed judges in the land in all the fortified cities of Judah, in city by city.
6 Și a spus judecătorilor: Luați seama ce faceți, fiindcă nu judecați pentru om, ci pentru DOMNUL, care este cu voi în judecată.
And he said to the judges, Look [well] at what ye are doing; because not for man are ye to judge, but for the Lord, who is with you in pronouncing judgment.
7 De aceea acum, să fie frica de DOMNUL peste voi; luați seama și faceți aceasta, căci nu este nelegiuire cu DOMNUL Dumnezeul nostru, nici căutare la fața omului, nici primire de daruri.
And now let the dread of the Lord be upon you: take heed and act; for with the Lord our God there is no injustice, nor respect for persons, nor taking of bribes.
8 Mai mult, Iosafat a așezat în Ierusalim dintre leviți și preoți și dintre mai marii părinților lui Israel, pentru judecata DOMNULUI și pentru certe, când s-au întors la Ierusalim.
But also in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat appoint some of the Levites, and the priests, and of the chiefs of the family divisions of Israel, for the [giving of] the judgment of the Lord, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.
9 Și le-a poruncit, spunând: Astfel să faceți în frică de DOMNUL, cu credincioșie și cu o inimă desăvârșită.
And he charged on them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the Lord, in faithfulness, and with an undivided heart.
10 Și orice cauză va veni la voi dintre frații voștri care locuiesc în cetățile lor, între sânge și sânge, între lege și poruncă, statute și judecăți, să îi avertizați să nu încalce legea împotriva DOMNULUI și astfel furie să vină peste voi și peste frații voștri; faceți aceasta și nu veți încălca legea.
And whatsoever controversy may come to you from your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, ye shall truly warn them that they incur not guilt against the Lord, and so there come wrath over you, and over your brethren: so must ye do, and ye will not incur guilt.
11 Și, iată, Amaria, mai marele preot, este peste voi în toate treburile DOMNULUI; și Zebadia, fiul lui Ismael, conducătorul casei lui Iuda, pentru toate treburile împăratului; de asemenea leviții vor fi administratori pentru voi. Purtați-vă curajos și DOMNUL va fi cu cel bun.
And, behold, Amaryahu the chief priest is over you for every matter of the Lord; and Zebadyahu the son of Yishma'el, the ruler for the house of Judah, for every matter of the king; and the Levites are officers before you. Be strong and act, and may the Lord be with the good.
