2 Cronici 11
1 Și când Roboam a venit la Ierusalim, a strâns din casa lui Iuda și a lui Beniamin, o sută optzeci de mii de bărbați aleși, care erau războinici, să lupte împotriva lui Israel, ca să aducă împărăția înapoi la Roboam.
And when Rehoboam was come to Ierusalem, he gathered of the house of Iudah and Beniamin nine score thousande chosen men of warre to fight against Israel, and to bring the kingdome againe to Rehoboam.
2 Dar cuvântul DOMNULUI a venit la Șemaia, omul lui Dumnezeu, spunând:
But the worde of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
3 Vorbește lui Roboam, fiul lui Solomon, împăratul lui Iuda, și întregului Israel în Iuda și Beniamin, zicând:
Speake vnto Rehoboam, the sonne of Salomon King of Iudah, and to all Israel that are in Iudah, and Beniamin, saying,
4 Astfel spune DOMNUL: Să nu urcați, nici să nu luptați împotriva fraților voștri: întoarceți-vă, fiecare om, la casa lui, fiindcă acest lucru este făcut de mine. Și ei au ascultat de cuvintele DOMNULUI, și s-au întors de la a merge împotriva lui Ieroboam.
Thus sayth the Lord, Ye shall not goe vp, nor fight against your brethren: returne euery man to his house: for this thing is done of me. They obeyed therfore the word of the Lord, and returned from going against Ieroboam.
5 Și Roboam a locuit în Ierusalim și a construit cetăți de apărare în Iuda.
And Rehoboam dwelt in Ierusalem, and buylt strong cities in Iudah.
6 A construit chiar Betleem și Etam și Tecoa,
Hee buylt also Beth-lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
7 Și Bet-Țur și Soco și Adulam,
And Beth-zur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
8 Și Gat și Mareșa și Zif,
And Gath, and Maresha, and Ziph,
9 Și Adoraim și Lachis și Azeca,
And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
10 Și Țoreea și Aialon și Hebron, care sunt în Iuda și Beniamin, cetăți întărite.
And Zorah, and Aialon, and Hebron, which were in Iudah and Beniamin, strong cities.
11 Și a fortificat întăriturile și a pus căpetenii în ele și provizii de mâncare și de untdelemn și vin.
And he repaired the strong holdes and put captaines in them, and store of vitaile, and oyle and wine.
12 Și în fiecare cetate a pus scuturi și sulițe și le-a făcut peste măsură de tari, având pe Iuda și pe Beniamin de partea sa.
And in all cities he put shieldes and speares, and made them exceeding strong: so Iudah and Beniamin were his.
13 Și preoții și leviții, care erau în tot Israelul, au venit la el din toate hotarele lor,
And the Priests and the Leuites that were in all Israel, resorted vnto him out of all their coastes.
14 Fiindcă leviții și-au părăsit împrejurimile și toate stăpânirile lor și au venit la Iuda și Ierusalim, căci Ieroboam și fiii lui îi alungaseră din îndeplinirea serviciului preoțesc pentru DOMNUL;
For the Leuites left their suburbes and their possession, and came to Iudah and to Ierusalem: for Ieroboam and his sonnes had cast them out from ministring in the Priestes office vnto the Lord.
15 Și a rânduit preoți pentru înălțimi și pentru draci și pentru vițeii pe care i-a făcut.
And he ordeyned him Priests for the hie places, and for the deuils and for the calues which he had made.
16 Și, după ei, din toate triburile lui Israel, aceia care au pus în inima lor să caute pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul lui Israel, au venit la Ierusalim să sacrifice DOMNULUI Dumnezeului părinților lor.
And after the Leuites there came to Ierusalem of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their heartes to seeke the Lord God of Israel, to offer vnto the Lord God of their fathers.
17 Astfel ei au întărit împărăția lui Iuda și au întărit pe Roboam, fiul lui Solomon, trei ani, căci trei ani au umblat în calea lui David și Solomon.
So they strengthened the kingdome of Iudah, and made Rehoboam the sonne of Salomon mightie, three yeere long: for three yeere they walked in in the way of Dauid and Salomon.
18 Și Roboam și-a luat pe Mahalat, fiica lui Ierimot, fiul lui David, ca soție, și pe Abihail, fiica lui Eliab, fiul lui Isai,
And Rehoboam tooke him Mahalath ye daughter of Ierimoth the sonne of Dauid to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the sonne of Ishai,
19 Care i-a născut copii: pe Ieuș și pe Șemaria și pe Zaham.
Which bare him sonnes Ieush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.
20 Și după ea a luat pe Maaca, fiica lui Absalom, care i-a născut pe Abiia și pe Atai și pe Ziza și pe Șelomit.
And after her he tooke Maakah ye daughter of Absalom which bare him Abiiah, and Atthai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
21 Și Roboam a iubit pe Maaca, fiica lui Absalom, mai presus de toate soțiile și concubinele lui (căci a luat optsprezece soții și șaizeci de concubine; și a născut douăzeci și opt de fii și șaizeci de fiice).
And Rehoboam loued Maakah ye daughter of Absalom aboue all his wiues and his concubines: for he tooke eighteene wiues, and three score concubines, and begate eyght and twentie sonnes, and three score daughters.
22 Și Roboam l-a făcut pe Abiia, fiul Maachei, mai marele, să fie conducător între frații lui, căci s-a gândit să îl facă împărat.
And Rehoboam made Abiiah the sonne of Maakah the chiefe ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him King.
23 Și s-a purtat cu înțelepciune și a împrăștiat pe toți copiii lui prin toate țările lui Iuda și Beniamin, până la fiecare cetate întărită, și le-a dat hrană din abundență. Și a dorit o mulțime de soții.
And he taught him: and dispersed all his sonnes throughout all the countreis of Iudah and Beniamin vnto euery strong citie: and hee gaue them aboundance of vitaile, and desired many wiues.
