1 Timotei 6
1 Atâția robi câți sunt sub jug să își socotească propriii lor stăpâni demni de toată onoarea, pentru ca numele lui Dumnezeu și doctrina lui să nu fie blasfemiate.
Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, that the name of God, and his teaching, be not reviled.
2 Iar cei ce au stăpâni ce cred, să nu îi disprețuiască, pentru că sunt frați; ci mai degrabă să îi servească, pentru că sunt credincioși și preaiubiți, părtași ai binefacerii. Acestea învață-i și îndeamnă-i.
And those who have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren: but rather let them serve them, because they who partake of the benefit of their service, are believers and beloved brethren. These things enforce in your teaching and exhortation.
3 Dacă cineva învață pe alții o doctrină diferită și nu consimte la cuvintele sănătoase, cuvintele Domnului nostru Isus Cristos, și la doctrina care este conformă cu evlavia,
If any one teaches other things, and does not assent to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the teaching which is according to godliness,
4 Este îngâmfat, neștiind nimic, și este nebun după întrebări și certuri despre cuvinte, din care vin invidie, ceartă, vorbiri de rău, bănuieli rele,
he is mad with conceit, knowing nothing, but has a morbid fondness for questions and contentions about words, out of which come envy, strife, railing, evil suspicions,
5 Dispute perverse ale oamenilor total corupți în minte și lipsiți de adevăr, presupunând că orice câștig este evlavie: desparte-te de astfel de oameni.
and wranglings, on the part of men who are corrupt in mind, and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a source of gain. From such withdraw yourself.
6 Dar evlavia cu mulțumire este mare câștig.
But godliness, with a contented disposition, is great gain.
7 Fiindcă noi nu am adus nimic în lume și cu siguranță nu putem duce nimic din ea.
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out.
8 Dar având hrană și îmbrăcăminte, să fim mulțumiți cu acestea.
And having food and raiment, with these let us be content.
9 Dar cei ce intenționează să fie bogați, cad în ispită și în cursă și în multe pofte nebune și vătămătoare, care afundă pe oameni în distrugere și pieire.
But those who will be rich fail into temptation and a snare, and many foolish and hurtful desires, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10 Fiindcă iubirea de bani este rădăcina a toată răutatea, după care unii, lăcomindu-se, s-au rătăcit de la credință și s-au străpuns pe ei înșiși cu multe întristări.
For the love of money is the root of all evil; through the desire of which, some have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
11 Dar tu, om al lui Dumnezeu, fugi de acestea și urmărește dreptate, evlavie, credință, dragoste, răbdare, blândețe.
But do you, O man of God, shun these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, patience, meekness.
12 Luptă lupta cea bună a credinței, apucă viața eternă la care ai și fost chemat și ai făcut o bună mărturisire înaintea multor martori. (aiōnios g166)
Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold on eternal life, to which you have been called, and for which you confessed the good confession before many witnesses. (aiōnios g166)
13 Îți poruncesc înaintea lui Dumnezeu, care dă viață tuturor, și înaintea lui Cristos Isus, care înaintea lui Pontius Pilat a adus o mărturisire bună,
I charge you, in the sight of God, who makes all things alive, and before Christ Jesus, who, before Pontius Pilate, confessed a good confession,
14 Ca tu să ții porunca fără pată, ireproșabil, până la apariția Domnului nostru Isus Cristos,
that you keep this commandment, so that you may be spotless and blameless till the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Care la timpurile sale o va arăta, [cel care] este binecuvântatul și singurul Suveran, Împăratul împăraților și Domnul domnilor,
which, in his own times, he will show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
16 Cel care singur are nemurirea, locuind în lumina de care nimeni nu se poate apropia, pe care niciun om nu l-a văzut, nici nu îl poate vedea: lui fie onoare și putere veșnică! Amin. (aiōnios g166)
who alone has immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable, whom no man has seen, nor can see, to whom be honor and power eternal. Amen. (aiōnios g166)
17 Poruncește celor bogați în această lume, să nu fie cu minte trufașă, nici să se încreadă în bogății nesigure, ci în Dumnezeul cel viu, care ne dă toate din abundență ca să ne bucurăm de ele; (aiōn g165)
Charge those who are rich in this age, that they be not proud, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us all things richly for our enjoyment, (aiōn g165)
18 Ca să lucreze binele, ca să fie bogați în fapte bune, să fie darnici, voitori să dea,
that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, liberal,
19 Strângându-și o temelie bună pentru timpul ce vine, ca să apuce viața eternă.
treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
20 O, Timotei, păzește ce îți este încredințat, evitând flecărelile profane [și] deșarte și împotrivirile a ceea ce este în mod fals numită știință,
O Timothy, keep that which is committed to your charge, avoiding those profane and empty babblings, and disputations about knowledge falsely so called;
21 Pe care unii, susținând-o, au rătăcit referitor la credință. Harul fie cu tine! Amin.
by making a profession of this knowledge, some have erred as it respects the faith. Grace be with you. Amen.
