1 Timotei 2
1 De aceea [vă] îndemn ca, înainte de toate, să se facă cereri, rugăciuni, mijlociri și mulțumiri pentru toți oamenii;
I Exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giuing of thanks be made for all men,
2 Pentru împărați și pentru toți cei ce sunt în autoritate; ca să putem duce o viață liniștită și pașnică în toată evlavia și onestitatea.
For Kings, and for all that are in authoritie, that we may leade a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godlinesse and honestie.
3 Fiindcă acest [lucru] este bun și bine primit înaintea lui Dumnezeu, Salvatorul nostru;
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Sauiour,
4 Care dorește ca toți oamenii să fie salvați și să vină la cunoașterea adevărului.
Who will that all men shalbe saued, and come vnto the acknowledging of the trueth.
5 Fiindcă este un singur Dumnezeu și un singur mijlocitor între Dumnezeu și oameni, omul Cristos Isus,
For there is one God, and one Mediatour betweene God and man, which is the man Christ Iesus,
6 Care s-a dat pe sine însuși răscumpărare pentru toți, ca să fie mărturisit la timpul cuvenit.
Who gaue himselfe a ransome for all men, to be that testimonie in due time,
7 Pentru care eu sunt rânduit predicator și apostol (spun adevărul în Cristos, nu mint), învățător al neamurilor în credință și adevăr.
Whereunto I am ordeined a preacher and an Apostle (I speake the trueth in Christ, and lie not) euen a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and veritie.
8 De aceea doresc ca bărbații să se roage în tot locul, ridicând mâini sfinte, fără furie și fără îndoială.
I will therefore that the men pray, euery where lifting vp pure hands without wrath, or douting.
9 Și în același fel, rânduiesc ca femeile să se înfrumusețeze ordonat, în haine decente, cu sfială și sobrietate, nu cu păr împletit, sau cu aur sau cu perle sau cu haine scumpe,
Likewise also the women, that they aray themselues in comely apparell, with shamefastnes and modestie, not with broyded heare, or gold, or pearles, or costly apparell,
10 Ci cu fapte bune (ceea ce se cuvine femeilor care susțin că sunt evlavioase).
But (as becommeth women that professe the feare of God) with good workes.
11 Femeia să învețe în tăcere, cu toată supunerea.
Let the woman learne in silence with all subiection.
12 Dar nu permit femeii să învețe pe altul, nici să exercite autoritate asupra bărbatului, ci să stea în tăcere.
I permit not a woman to teache, neither to vsurpe authoritie ouer the man, but to be in silence.
13 Fiindcă întâi a fost format Adam, apoi Eva.
For Adam was first formed, then Eue.
14 Și nu Adam a fost înșelat; ci femeia, fiind înșelată, a ajuns la încălcarea poruncii.
And Adam was not deceiued, but the woman was deceiued, and was in the transgression.
15 Totuși ea va fi salvată prin nașterea de copii, dacă vor stărui în credință și dragoste creștină și sfințenie cu sobrietate.
Notwithstanding, through bearing of children she shalbe saued if they continue in faith, and loue, and holines with modestie.
