1 Samuel 15
1 Samuel de asemenea i-a spus lui Saul: DOMNUL m-a trimis să te ung împărat peste poporul său, peste Israel; de aceea acum, dă ascultare la vocea cuvintelor DOMNULUI.
And Samuel said to Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee king over Israel: and now hear the voice of the Lord.
2 Astfel spune DOMNUL oștirilor: Îmi amintesc ceea ce Amalec i-a făcut lui Israel, cum l-a pândit pe cale, când se urca din Egipt.
Thus said the Lord of hosts, Now will I take vengeance for what Amalec did to Israel, when he met him in the way as he came up out of Egypt.
3 Acum du-te și lovește pe Amalec și nimicește tot ceea ce au ei și nu îi cruța, ci omoară deopotrivă bărbat și femeie, prunc și sugar, bou și oaie, cămilă și măgar.
And now go, and thou shalt smite Amalec and Hierim and all that belongs to him, and thou shalt not save anything of him alive, but thou shalt utterly destroy him: and thou shalt devote him and all his to [destruction], and thou shalt spare nothing belonging to him; and thou shalt slay both man and woman, and infant and suckling, and calf and sheep, and camel and ass.
4 Și Saul a adunat poporul și i-a numărat în Telaim: două sute de mii de pedeștri și zece mii de bărbați din Iuda.
And Saul summoned the people, and he numbered them in Galgala, four hundred thousand regular troops, and Juda thirty thousand regular troops.
5 Și Saul a venit la o cetate a lui Amalec și a pândit în vale.
And Saul came to the cities of Amalec, and laid wait in the valley.
6 Și Saul a spus cheniților: Duceți-vă, plecați, coborâți din mijlocul amaleciților, ca nu cumva să vă nimicesc cu ei, pentru că voi ați arătat bunătate tuturor copiilor lui Israel, când ei se urcau din Egipt. Astfel cheniții s-au depărtat din mijlocul amaleciților.
And Saul said to the Kinite, Go, and depart out of the midst of the Amalekites, lest I put thee with them; for thou dealedst mercifully with the children of Israel when they went up out of Egypt. So the Kinite departed from the midst of Amalec.
7 Și Saul a lovit pe amaleciți de la Havila, cum vii la Șur, care este în fața Egiptului.
And Saul smote Amalec from Evilat to Sur fronting Egypt.
8 Și a prins viu pe Agag, împăratul amaleciților, și a nimicit în întregime tot poporul cu ascuțișul sabiei.
And he took Agag the king of Amalec alive, and he slew all the people and Hierim with the edge of the sword.
9 Dar Saul și poporul au cruțat pe Agag și ce era cel mai bun dintre oi și dintre boi și dintre vite îngrășate și miei și tot ce era bun și au refuzat să le nimicească în întregime; dar orice lucru nemernic și rău, pe acela l-au nimicit în întregime.
And Saul and all the people saved Agag alive, and the best of the flocks, and of the herds, and of the fruits, of the vineyards, and of all the good things; and they would not destroy them: but every worthless and refuse thing they destroyed.
10 Atunci cuvântul DOMNULUI a venit la Samuel, spunând:
And the word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying,
11 Mă pocăiesc că am pus pe Saul împărat, pentru că s-a abătut de la a mă urma și nu a împlinit poruncile mele. Și aceasta a mâhnit pe Samuel; și el a strigat către DOMNUL toată noaptea.
I have repented that I have made Saul to be king: for he has turned back from following me, and has not kept my word. And Samuel was grieved, and cried to the Lord all night.
12 Și când Samuel s-a sculat devreme ca să îl întâlnească pe Saul dimineața, i s-a spus lui Samuel, zicând: Saul a venit la Carmel și, iată, și-a înălțat un semn și s-a întors și a trecut mai departe și a coborât la Ghilgal.
And Samuel rose early and went to meet Israel in the morning, and it was told Saul, saying, Samuel has come to Carmel, and he has raised up help for himself: and he turned his chariot, and came down to Galgala to Saul; and, behold, he was offering up a whole-burnt-offering to the Lord, the chief of the spoils which he brought out of Amalec.
13 Și Samuel a venit la Saul; și Saul i-a spus: Binecuvântat fii de DOMNUL; am împlinit porunca DOMNULUI.
And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said to him, Blessed [art] thou of the Lord: I have performed all that the Lord said.
14 Și Samuel a spus: Ce înseamnă atunci acest behăit de oi în urechile mele și mugetul boilor pe care îl aud?
And Samuel said, What then [is] the bleating of this flock in my ears, and the sound of the oxen which I hear?
15 Și Saul a spus: Le-au adus de la amaleciți, pentru că poporul a cruțat ce era cel mai bun dintre oi și dintre boi, pentru a sacrifica DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău; și pe celelalte noi le-am nimicit în întregime.
And Saul said, I have brought them out of Amalec, that which the people preserved, even the best of the sheep, and of the cattle, that it might be sacrificed to the Lord thy God, and the rest have I utterly destroyed.
16 Atunci Samuel i-a spus lui Saul: Stai și îți voi spune ce mi-a spus DOMNUL în această noapte. Iar el i-a spus: Spune.
And Samuel said to Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the Lord has said to me this night: and he said to him, Say on.
17 Și Samuel a spus: Când erai mic înaintea ochilor tăi, nu ai fost făcut tu capul triburilor lui Israel și nu DOMNUL te-a uns împărat peste Israel?
And Samuel said to Saul, Art thou not little in his eyes, [though] a leader of one of the tribes of Israel? and [yet] the Lord anointed thee to be king over Israel.
18 Și DOMNUL te-a trimis într-o călătorie și a spus: Du-te și nimicește în întregime pe păcătoșii de amaleciți și fă bătălie împotriva lor, până vor fi mistuiți.
And the Lord sent thee on a journey, and said to thee, Go, and utterly destroy: thou shalt slay the sinners against me, [even] the Amalekites; and thou shalt war against them until thou have consumed them.
19 Pentru ce atunci nu ai ascultat de vocea DOMNULUI, ci te-ai năpustit asupra prăzii și ai făcut ce este rău înaintea ochilor DOMNULUI?
And why didst not thou hearken to the voice of the Lord, but didst haste to fasten upon the spoils, and didst that which was evil in the sight of the Lord?
20 Și Saul i-a spus lui Samuel: Da, am ascultat de vocea DOMNULUI și am mers pe calea pe care m-a trimis DOMNUL și am adus pe Agag, împăratul amaleciților, și am nimicit în întregime pe amaleciți.
And Saul said to Samuel, Because I listened to the voice of the people: yet I went the way by which the Lord sent me, and I brought Agag the king of Amalec, and I destroyed Amalec.
21 Dar poporul a luat din pradă, oi și boi, cele mai bune dintre lucruri care trebuiau nimicite în întregime, pentru a sacrifica DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău în Ghilgal.
But the people took of the spoils the best flocks and herds [out] of that which was destroyed, to sacrifice before the Lord our God in Galgal.
22 Și Samuel a spus: Îi fac DOMNULUI mai mare desfătare ofrandele arse și sacrificiile, decât ascultarea de vocea DOMNULUI? Iată, a asculta de el este mai bine decât sacrificiul, și a da ascultare decât grăsimea berbecilor.
And Samuel said, Does the Lord take pleasure in whole-burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in hearing the words of the Lord? behold, obedience [is] better than a good sacrifice, and hearkening than the fat of rams.
23 Fiindcă răzvrătirea este ca păcatul vrăjitoriei și încăpățânarea este ca nelegiuirea și idolatria. Pentru că ai lepădat cuvântul DOMNULUI și el te-a lepădat ca împărat.
For sin is [as] divination; idols bring on pain and grief. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, the Lord also shall reject thee from being king over Israel.
24 Și Saul i-a spus lui Samuel: Am păcătuit, pentru că am călcat porunca DOMNULUI și cuvintele tale; deoarece m-am temut de popor și am făcut ce a poruncit vocea lor.
And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned, in that I have transgressed the word of the Lord and thy direction; for I feared the people, and I hearkened to their voice.
25 Și acum, te rog, iartă păcatul meu și întoarce-te cu mine, ca să mă închin DOMNULUI.
And now remove, I pray thee, my sin, and turn back with me, and I will worship the Lord thy God.
26 Și Samuel i-a spus lui Saul: Nu mă voi întoarce cu tine, pentru că ai lepădat cuvântul DOMNULUI și DOMNUL te-a lepădat de la a fi împărat peste Israel.
And Samuel said to Saul, I will not turn back with thee, for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord will reject thee from being king over Israel.
27 Și pe când Samuel s-a întors să plece, Saul l-a apucat de poala mantiei sale și aceasta s-a rupt.
And Samuel turned his face to depart, and Saul caught hold of the skirt of his garment, and tore it.
28 Și Samuel i-a spus: DOMNUL a rupt împărăția lui Israel de la tine în această zi și a dat-o aproapelui tău, care este mai bun decât tine.
And Samuel said to him, The Lord has rent thy kingdom from Israel out of thy hand this day, and will give it to thy neighbour who is better than thou.
29 Și de asemenea Tăria lui Israel nu va minți, nici nu se va pocăi, pentru că el nu este un om, ca să se pocăiască.
And Israel shall be divided to two: and [God] will not turn nor repent, for he is not as a man to repent.
30 Atunci el a spus: Am păcătuit; totuși onorează-mă acum, te rog, înaintea bătrânilor poporului meu și înaintea lui Israel și întoarce-te cu mine, ca să mă închin DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău.
And Saul said, I have sinned; yet honour me, I pray thee, before the elders of Israel, and before my people; and turn back with me, and I will worship the Lord thy God.
31 Astfel Samuel s-a întors după Saul; și Saul s-a închinat DOMNULUI.
So Samuel turned back after Saul, and he worshipped the Lord.
32 Atunci Samuel a spus: Aduceți la mine pe Agag, împăratul amaleciților. Și Agag a venit la el cu multă delicatețe. Și Agag a spus: Într-adevăr amărăciunea morții a trecut.
And Samuel said, Bring me Agag the king of Amalec: and Agag came to him trembling; and Agag said Is death thus bitter?
33 Iar Samuel a spus: Precum sabia ta a făcut pe femei fără copii, tot astfel mama ta va fi fără copii printre femei. Și Samuel a tăiat pe Agag în bucăți înaintea DOMNULUI la Ghilgal.
And Samuel said to Agag, As thy sword has bereaved women of their children, so shall thy mother be made childless among women: and Samuel slew Agag before the Lord in Galgal.
34 Apoi Samuel a mers la Rama; și Saul s-a urcat la casa lui în Ghibea lui Saul.
And Samuel departed to Armathaim, and Saul went up to his house at Gabaa.
35 Și Samuel nu a mai venit să îl vadă pe Saul până în ziua morții sale; totuși Samuel l-a jelit pe Saul; și DOMNUL s-a pocăit că l-a făcut pe Saul împărat peste Israel.
And Samuel did not see Saul again till the day of his death, for Samuel mourned after Saul, and the Lord repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
