1 Samuel 13
1 Saul domnea de un an de zile; și după ce a domnit doi ani peste Israel,
Saul nowe had beene King one yeere, and he reigned two yeeres ouer Israel.
2 Saul și-a ales trei mii de bărbați din Israel, din care: două mii erau cu Saul în Micmaș și în muntele Betel, iar o mie erau cu Ionatan în Ghibea lui Beniamin; și a trimis restul poporului, pe fiecare la cortul lui.
Then Saul chose him three thousand of Israel: and two thousande were with Saul in Michmash, and in mount Beth-el, and a thousande were with Ionathan in Gibeah of Beniamin: and the rest of the people he sent euery one to his tent.
3 Și Ionatan a lovit garnizoana filistenilor care era în Gheba și filistenii au auzit despre aceasta. Și Saul a sunat din trâmbiță prin toată țara, spunând: Să audă evreii.
And Ionathan smote the garison of the Philistims, that was in the hill: and it came to the Philistims eares: and Saul blewe the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Heare, O yee Ebrewes.
4 Și tot Israelul a auzit spunându-se că Saul lovise o garnizoană a filistenilor și că Israel de asemenea a devenit o urâciune filistenilor. Și poporul a fost chemat împreună, după Saul, la Ghilgal.
And al Israel heard say, Saul hath destroied a garison of the Philistims: wherefore Israel was had in abomination with the Philistims: and the people gathered together after Saul to Gilgal.
5 Și filistenii s-au adunat să lupte cu Israel, treizeci de mii de care și șase mii de călăreți și o mulțime de popor ca nisipul care este pe țărmul mării; și s-au urcat și și-au așezat tabăra la Micmaș, spre est de Bet-Aven.
The Philistims also gathered themselues together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand charets, and sixe thousande horsemen: for the people was like the sand which is by the seas side in multitude, and came vp, and pitched in Michmash Eastward from Beth-auen.
6 Când bărbații lui Israel au văzut că erau în strâmtorare (pentru că poporul era tulburat), atunci poporul s-a ascuns în peșteri și în tufișuri și în stânci și pe înălțimi și în gropi.
And when the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait (for the people were in distresse) the people hid themselues in caues, and in holdes, and in rockes, and in towres, and in pittes.
7 Și unii dintre evrei au trecut Iordanul în țara lui Gad și a lui Galaad. Cât despre Saul, el era încă în Ghilgal și tot poporul îl urma tremurând.
And some of the Ebrewes went ouer Iorden vnto the lande of Gad and Gilead: and Saul was yet in Gilgal, and al the people for feare followed him.
8 Și a rămas șapte zile, conform cu timpul pe care Samuel îl rânduise; dar Samuel nu a venit la Ghilgal și poporul s-a împrăștiat de la el.
And he taried seuen daies, according vnto the time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal, therefore the people were scattered from him.
9 Și Saul a spus: Aduceți-mi aici o ofrandă arsă și ofrande de pace. Și a oferit ofranda arsă.
And Saul sayde, Bring a burnt offering to me and peace offrings: and he offered a burnt offering.
10 Și s-a întâmplat, că imediat ce a terminat de oferit ofranda arsă, iată, Samuel a venit; și Saul a ieșit în întâmpinare, ca să îl salute.
And assoone as hee had made an ende of offering the burnt offering, beholde, Samuel came: and Saul went foorth to meete him, to salute him.
11 Și Samuel a spus: Ce ai făcut? Și Saul a spus: Deoarece am văzut că poporul s-a împrăștiat de la mine și că tu nu ai venit în ziua rânduită și că filistenii s-au adunat la Micmaș,
And Samuel saide, What hast thou done? Then Saul saide, Because I sawe that the people was scattred from me, and that thou camest not within the daies appoynted, and that the Philistims gathered themselues together to Michmash,
12 De aceea am spus: Filistenii vor coborî acum asupra mea la Ghilgal și eu nu făcusem cerere către DOMNUL; m-am forțat de aceea și am oferit o ofrandă arsă.
Therefore said I, The Philistims will come downe nowe vpon me to Gilgal, and I haue not made supplication vnto the Lord. I was bolde therefore and offred a burnt offring.
13 Și Samuel i-a spus lui Saul: Ai lucrat prostește; nu ai păzit porunca DOMNULUI Dumnezeul tău, pe care ți-a poruncit-o, pentru că DOMNUL ar fi întemeiat acum împărăția ta peste Israel pentru totdeauna.
And Samuel saide to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandement of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee: for the Lord had nowe stablished thy kingdome vpon Israel for euer.
14 Dar acum împărăția ta nu va dura; DOMNUL și-a căutat un om după inima sa și DOMNUL i-a poruncit să fie căpetenie peste poporul său, pentru că tu nu ai păzit ceea ce DOMNUL ți-a poruncit.
But nowe thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought him a man after his owne heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be gouernour ouer his people, because thou hast not kept that which the Lord had commanded thee.
15 Și Samuel s-a ridicat și s-a urcat de la Ghilgal la Ghibea lui Beniamin. Iar Saul a numărat poporul care era prezent cu el, cam șase sute de bărbați.
And Samuel arose, and gate him vp from Gilgal in Gibeah of Beniamin: and Saul nombred the people that were found with him, about sixe hundreth men.
16 Și Saul și Ionatan, fiul său, și poporul care era prezent cu ei au locuit în Ghibea lui Beniamin; și filistenii și-au așezat tabăra în Micmaș.
And Saul and Ionathan his sonne, and the people that were found with them, had their abiding in Gibeah of Beniamin: but the Philistims pitched in Michmash.
17 Și jefuitorii au ieșit din tabăra filistenilor în trei cete, o ceată s-a întors spre calea care duce la Ofra, în țara Șual;
And there came out of the hoste of the Philistims three bandes to destroie, one bande turned vnto the way of Ophrah vnto the lande of Shual,
18 Și o altă ceată s-a întors pe calea către Bet-Horon; și o altă ceată s-a întors spre calea către granița care privește spre Valea Țeboim, spre pustiu.
And another bad turned toward the way to Beth-horon, and the third band turned toward the way of the coast that looketh toward the valley of Zeboim, towarde the wildernesse.
19 Și nu se găsea niciun fierar în toată țara lui Israel, pentru că filistenii spuseseră: Nu cumva evreii să își facă săbii sau sulițe;
Then there was no smith founde throughout all the land of Israel: for the Philistims sayde, Lest the Ebrewes make them swordes or speares.
20 Ci toți israeliții coborau la filisteni pentru a-și ascuți fiecare fierul plugului și coasa și toporul și cazmaua.
Wherefore all ye Israelites went downe to the Philistims, to sharpen euery man his share, his mattocke, and his axe, and his weeding hooke.
21 Totuși aveau o piatră pentru cazmale și pentru coase și pentru furci și pentru topoare și pentru a ascuți țepușele.
Yet they had a file for the shares, and for the mattockes, and for the picke forkes, and for the axes, and for to sharpen the goades.
22 Astfel s-a întâmplat în ziua bătăliei, că nu se găsea nici sabie nici suliță în mâna vreunuia din poporul care era cu Saul și cu Ionatan; dar la Saul și la Ionatan, fiul său, se găsea.
So whe the day of battell was come, there was neither sworde nor speare founde in the handes of any of the people that were with Saul and with Ionathan: but onely with Saul and Ionathan his sonne was there founde.
23 Și garnizoana filistenilor a ieșit la trecătoarea Micmașului.
And the garison of the Philistims came out to the passage of Michmash.
