1 Atunci Solomon a adunat pe bătrânii lui Israel şi pe toţi capii triburilor, pe mai marii părinţilor copiilor lui Israel, la împăratul Solomon în Ierusalim, ca să aducă chivotul legământului DOMNULUI din cetatea lui David, care este Sionul.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes, and the leaders of the families of the people of Israel, before himself in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh from the city of David, that is, Zion.

2 Şi toţi bărbaţii lui Israel s-au adunat la împăratul Solomon la sărbătoarea din luna Etanim, care este luna a şaptea.

All the men of Israel assembled before King Solomon at the feast, in the month of Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

3 Şi toţi bătrânii lui Israel au venit şi preoţii au ridicat chivotul.

All the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4 Şi au adus chivotul DOMNULUI şi tabernacolul întâlnirii şi toate vasele sfinte care erau în tabernacol, preoţii şi leviţii le-au urcat pe toate.

They brought up the ark of Yahweh, the tent of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tent. The priests and the Levites brought these things up.

5 Şi împăratul Solomon şi toată adunarea lui Israel, care s-au adunat la el, erau cu el înaintea chivotului, sacrificând oi şi boi, care nu puteau fi spuse nici numărate datorită mulţimii.

King Solomon and all the assembly of Israel came together before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted.

6 Şi preoţii au adus chivotul legământului DOMNULUI la locul său, în oracolul casei, la locul preasfânt, sub aripile heruvimilor.

The priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh to its place, into the inner room of the house, to the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubim.

7 Fiindcă heruvimii îşi întindeau cele două aripi ale lor peste locul chivotului şi heruvimii acopereau chivotul şi drugii lui pe deasupra.

For the cherubim spread out their wings to the place of the ark, and they covered the ark and the poles by which it was carried.

8 Şi ei au tras drugii, încât capetele drugilor erau văzute în locul sfânt înaintea oracolului şi nu erau văzute în exterior; şi acolo sunt până în această zi.

The poles were so long that their ends were seen from the holy place in front of the inner room, but they could not be seen from outside. They are there to this day.

9 Nu era nimic în chivot în afară de cele două table de piatră, pe care Moise le pusese acolo la Horeb, când DOMNUL a făcut un legământ cu copiii lui Israel, după ce au ieşit din ţara Egiptului.

There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets of stone that Moses had put there at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the people of Israel when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 Şi s-a întâmplat, când preoţii au ieşit din locul sfânt, că norul a umplut casa DOMNULUI,

It came about that when the priests came out of the holy place, the cloud filled the temple of Yahweh.

11 Astfel încât preoţii nu au putut să stea să servească din cauza norului, pentru că gloria DOMNULUI a umplut casa DOMNULUI.

The priests could not stand to serve because of the cloud, for the glory of Yahweh filled his house.

12 Atunci Solomon a vorbit: DOMNUL a spus că va locui în întunericul gros.

Then Solomon said, “Yahweh has said that he would live in thick darkness,

13 Eu ţi-am construit, într-adevăr, o casă de locuit, un loc întemeiat pentru tine ca să locuieşti pentru totdeauna.

But I have built you a lofty residence, a place for you to live in forever.”

14 Şi împăratul şi-a întors faţa şi a binecuvântat toată adunarea lui Israel; (şi toată adunarea lui Israel stătea în picioare; )

Then the king turned around and blessed all the assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.

15 Şi el a spus: Binecuvântat fie DOMNUL Dumnezeul lui Israel, care a vorbit cu gura sa lui David, tatăl meu, şi cu mâna sa a împlinit, zicând:

He said, “May Yahweh, the God of Israel, be praised, who spoke to David my father, and has fulfilled it with his own hands, saying,

16 Din ziua în care am scos pe poporul meu Israel din Egipt, nu am ales nicio cetate dintre toate triburile lui Israel pentru a construi o casă, ca numele meu să fie acolo; ci am ales pe David să fie peste poporul meu Israel.

'Since the day that I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house, in order for my name to be there. However, I chose David to rule over my people Israel.'

17 Şi a fost în inima lui David, tatăl meu, să construiască o casă pentru numele DOMNULUI Dumnezeului lui Israel.

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

18 Şi DOMNUL i-a spus lui David, tatăl meu: Deoarece a fost în inima ta să construieşti o casă numelui meu, ai făcut bine că aceasta a fost în inima ta.

But Yahweh said to David my father, 'In that it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well for it to be in your heart.

19 Totuşi nu tu vei construi casa, ci fiul tău care va ieşi din coapsele tale, el va construi casa pentru numele meu.

Nevertheless you will not build the house; instead, your son, one who will be born from your loins, will build the house for my name.'

20 Şi DOMNUL a împlinit cuvântul său pe care l-a spus şi eu sunt înălţat în locul lui David, tatăl meu, şi şed pe tronul lui Israel, precum DOMNUL a promis, şi am construit o casă pentru numele DOMNULUI Dumnezeul lui Israel.

Yahweh has carried out the word that he had said, for I have arisen in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised. I have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

21 Şi am aşezat acolo un loc pentru chivot, în care este legământul DOMNULUI, pe care l-a făcut cu părinţii noştri, când i-a scos din ţara Egiptului.

I have made a place for the ark there, in which is Yahweh's covenant, which he made with our fathers when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.”

22 Şi Solomon a stat în picioare înaintea altarului DOMNULUI, în prezenţa întregii adunări a lui Israel, şi şi-a întins mâinile spre cer;

Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh, before all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward the heavens.

23 Şi a spus: DOAMNE, Dumnezeul lui Israel, nu este Dumnezeu asemenea ţie, în ceruri deasupra, sau pe pământ dedesubt, care păzeşti legământul şi mila faţă de servitorii tăi care umblă înaintea ta cu toată inima lor;

He said, “Yahweh, God of Israel, there is no God like you in the heavens above or on the earth below, who keeps his covenant faithfulness with your servants who walk before you with all their heart;

24 Care ai ţinut faţă de servitorul tău David, tatăl meu, ceea ce i-ai promis; tu ai vorbit de asemenea cu gura ta şi ai împlinit aceasta cu mâna ta, precum este în această zi.

you who have kept with your servant David my father, what you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is today.

25 De aceea acum, DOAMNE Dumnezeul lui Israel, ţine faţă de servitorul tău David, tatăl meu, ce i-ai promis, spunând: Nu îţi va lipsi un bărbat înaintea feţei mele pentru a şedea pe tronul lui Israel; numai dacă vor lua seama copiii tăi la calea lor, ca să umble înaintea mea precum ai umblat tu înaintea mea.

Now then, Yahweh, God of Israel, carry out what you have promised to your servant David my father, when you said, 'You will not fail to have a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your descendants are careful to walk before me, as you have walked before me.'

26 Şi acum, Dumnezeul lui Israel, să se adeverească, te rog, cuvântul tău, pe care l-ai vorbit servitorului tău David, tatăl meu.

Now then, God of Israel, let your word be confirmed, which you have spoken to your servant David my father.

27 Dar va locui Dumnezeu, într-adevăr, pe pământ? Iată, cerul şi cerul cerurilor nu te pot cuprinde; cu cât mai puţin această casă pe care am construit-o?

But will God actually live on the earth? Look, the entire universe and heaven itself cannot contain you—how much less can this temple that I have built!

28 Totuşi dă atenţie la rugăciunea servitorului tău şi la cererea lui, DOAMNE Dumnezeul meu, pentru a da ascultare la strigătul şi rugăciunea cu care se roagă servitorul tău înaintea ta în această zi;

Yet please respect this prayer of your servant and his request, Yahweh my God; listen to the cry and prayer that your servant prays before you today.

29 Ca ochii tăi să fie deschişi spre această casă noapte şi zi, spre locul despre care ai spus: Numele meu va fi acolo, ca să dai ascultare la rugăciunea pe care servitorul tău o va face spre locul acesta.

May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, to the place about which you have said, 'My name and my presence will be there'—in order to listen to the prayers that your servant will pray toward this place.

30 Şi dă ascultare la cererea servitorului tău şi a poporului tău, Israel, când se vor ruga spre locul acesta; şi ascultă din cer, locul locuinţei tale; şi ascultă şi iartă.

So listen to the request of your servant and of your people Israel when we pray toward this place. Yes, listen from the place where you live, from the heavens; and when you listen, forgive.

31 Dacă vreun om încalcă legea împotriva aproapelui său şi un jurământ este pus asupra lui pentru a-l face să jure şi jurământul vine înaintea altarului tău în această casă,

If a man sins against his neighbor and is required to swear an oath, and if he comes and swears an oath before your altar in this house,

32 Atunci ascultă din cer şi înfăptuieşte şi judecă pe servitorii tăi, condamnând pe cel stricat, pentru a aduce calea lui asupra capului său; şi declarând drept pe cel drept, pentru a-i da conform dreptăţii lui.

listen from the heavens and act. Judge your servants, condemning the guilty and bringing what he has done upon his own head. Declare the innocent not guilty and give to him according to his righteousness.

33 Când poporul tău, Israel, este bătut înaintea duşmanului, pentru că au păcătuit împotriva ta şi se vor întoarce din nou la tine şi vor mărturisi numele tău şi se vor ruga şi îţi vor face cerere în această casă,

When your people Israel are defeated by an enemy because they have sinned against you, if they turn back to you, confess your name, pray, and request forgiveness from you in this temple—

34 Atunci ascultă din cer şi iartă păcatul poporului tău, Israel, şi adu-i din nou în ţara pe care ai dat-o părinţilor lor.

then please listen in the heavens and forgive the sin of your people Israel; bring them back to the land that you gave to their ancestors.

35 Când cerul va fi închis şi nu va fi ploaie, pentru că au păcătuit împotriva ta, dacă se vor ruga spre locul acesta şi vor mărturisi numele tău şi se vor întoarce de la păcatul lor, când îi vei chinui,

When the skies are shut up and there is no rain because the people have sinned against you—if they pray toward this place, confess your name, and turn from their sin when you have afflicted them—

36 Atunci ascultă din cer şi iartă păcatul servitorilor tăi şi al poporului tău, Israel, ca să îi înveţi calea cea bună pe care ar trebui să umble şi dă ploaie peste ţara ta, pe care ai dat-o poporului tău ca moştenire.

then listen in heaven and forgive the sin of your servants and of your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk. Send rain on your land, which you have given to your people as an inheritance.

37 Dacă este în ţară foamete, dacă este ciumă, tăciune în grâu, mană, lăcustă, sau dacă este omidă, dacă duşmanul lor îi asediază în ţara cetăţilor lor, orice plagă, orice boală ar fi,

Suppose there is famine in the land, or suppose that there is disease, blight or mildew, locusts or caterpillars; or suppose that an enemy attacks the city gates in their land, or that there is any plague or sickness—

38 Orice rugăciune şi cerere este făcută de vreun om, sau de tot poporul tău Israel, când îşi vor cunoaşte, fiecare om plaga inimii lui, şi îşi vor întinde mâinile spre această casă,

and suppose then that prayers and requests are made by a person or by all your people Israel—each knowing the plague in his own heart as he spreads out his hands toward this temple.

39 Atunci ascultă din cer, locul locuinţei tale, şi iartă şi înfăptuieşte şi dă fiecărui om conform căilor lui, a cărui inimă o cunoşti; (pentru că tu, numai tu, cunoşti inimile tuturor copiilor oamenilor),

Then listen from heaven, the place where you live, forgive and act, and reward every person for all he does; you know his heart, because you and you only know the hearts of all human beings.

40 Ca ei să se teamă de tine în toate zilele cât trăiesc în ţara pe care ai dat-o părinţilor noştri.

Do this so that they may fear you all the days that they live on the land that you gave to our ancestors.

41 Mai mult, referitor la un străin, care nu este din poporul tău, Israel, ci vine dintr-o ţară îndepărtată de dragul numelui tău,

In addition, concerning the foreigner who does not belong to your people Israel: When he comes from a distant country because of your name—

42 (Pentru că vor auzi de numele tău mare şi de mâna ta puternică şi de braţul tău întins), când va veni şi se va ruga spre această casă,

for they will hear of your great name, your mighty hand, and your raised arm—when he comes and prays toward this temple,

43 Ascultă din cer, locul locuinţei tale, şi înfăptuieşte conform cu tot ce strigă străinul către tine; ca toate popoarele pământului să cunoască numele tău, pentru a se teme de tine, precum face poporul tău, Israel; şi ei să ştie că această casă, pe care am zidit-o eu, este chemată după numele tău.

then please listen from heaven, the place where you live, and do whatever the foreigner asks of you. Do this so that all the peoples on earth may know your name and fear you, as do your own people Israel. Do this so they might know that this house I have built is called by your name.

44 Dacă poporul tău iese la bătălie împotriva duşmanului său, oriunde îi vei trimite, şi se vor ruga DOMNULUI spre cetatea pe care tu ai ales-o, şi spre casa pe care eu am zidit-o pentru numele tău,

Suppose that your people go out to battle against an enemy, by whatever way you may send them, and suppose that they pray to you, Yahweh, toward the city that you have chosen, and toward the house that I have built for your name.

45 Atunci ascultă din cer rugăciunea lor şi cererea lor şi susţine cauza lor.

Then listen in the heavens to their prayer and their request, and help their cause.

46 Dacă ei vor păcătui împotriva ta (pentru că nu este om care să nu păcătuiască) şi tu te vei mânia pe ei şi îi vei da duşmanului, astfel încât ei îi vor duce captivi în ţara duşmanului, departe sau aproape;

Suppose that they sin against you, since there is no one who does not sin, and suppose that you are angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, so that the enemy takes them away captive to their land, whether distant or near.

47 Totuşi dacă vor pune la inimă, în ţara în care au fost duşi captivi, şi se pocăiesc şi îţi fac cerere în ţara celor care i-au dus captivi, spunând: Am păcătuit, ne-am purtat pervers, am făcut stricăciune;

Then suppose that they realize they are in the land where they have been exiled, and suppose that they repent and seek favor from you from the land of their captors. Suppose that they say, 'We have acted perversely and sinned. We have behaved wickedly.'

48 Şi astfel se întorc la tine cu toată inima lor şi cu tot sufletul lor, în ţara duşmanilor lor, care i-au dus captivi şi se vor ruga ţie spre ţara lor, pe care ai dat-o părinţilor lor, cetatea pe care tu ai ales-o şi casa pe care am construit-o pentru numele tău;

Suppose that they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who captured them, and suppose that they pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their ancestors, and toward the city that you chose, and toward the house that I have built for your name.

49 Atunci ascultă rugăciunea lor şi cererea lor din cer, locul locuinţei tale, şi susţine cauza lor,

Then from heaven, the place where you live, listen to their prayer and their request for help, and you will make matters right for them.

50 Şi iartă pe poporul tău care a păcătuit împotriva ta şi toate fărădelegile lor, prin care au încălcat legea împotriva ta, şi dă-le mângâiere înaintea celor care i-au dus captivi, ca să îi mângâie;

Forgive your people who have sinned against you, and all their transgressions that they have committed against you, and make them objects of compassion before their conquerors, and cause their conquerors to have compassion on them.

51 Pentru că ei sunt poporul tău şi moştenirea ta, pe care ai scos-o din Egipt, din mijlocul cuptorului de fier;

They are your people whom you have chosen, whom you rescued out of Egypt as if from the middle of a furnace where iron is forged.

52 Fie ochii tăi deschişi la cererea servitorului tău şi la cererea poporului tău Israel, ca să le dai ascultare în tot ceea ce ei strigă către tine.

May your eyes be open to the request of your servant and to the requests of your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they cry to you.

53 Pentru că tu i-ai separat dintre toate popoarele pământului, pentru a fi moştenirea ta, precum ai vorbit prin mâna servitorului tău, Moise, când ai scos pe părinţii noştri din Egipt, Doamne DUMNEZEULE.

For you separated them from among all the peoples of the earth to belong to you and receive your promises, just as you explained by Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, Lord Yahweh.”

54 Şi s-a întâmplat, că atunci când Solomon a terminat să se roage toată rugăciunea şi cererea către DOMNUL, că el s-a ridicat dinaintea altarului DOMNULUI, unde era îngenuncheat pe genunchii săi cu mâinile întinse către cer.

So it was that when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and request to Yahweh, he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread out toward the heavens.

55 Şi a stat în picioare şi a binecuvântat toată adunarea lui Israel cu voce tare, spunând:

He stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel in a loud voice, saying,

56 Binecuvântat fie DOMNUL, care a dat odihnă poporului său, Israel, conform cu toate câte a promis; nu a lipsit niciun cuvânt din toată promisiunea bună, pe care a promis-o prin mâna servitorului său, Moise.

“May Yahweh be praised, who has given rest to his people Israel, keeping all his promises. Not one word has failed out of all Yahweh's good promises that he made with Moses his servant.

57 DOMNUL Dumnezeul nostru să fie cu noi, precum a fost cu părinţii noştri; să nu ne lase, nici să nu ne părăsească;

May Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our ancestors. May he never leave us or forsake us,

58 Ca să ne aplece inimile spre el, pentru a umbla în toate căile lui şi pentru a păzi poruncile lui şi statutele lui şi judecăţile lui, pe care le-a poruncit părinţilor noştri.

that he may incline our hearts to him, to live in all his ways and keep his commandments and his regulations and his statutes, which he commanded our fathers.

59 Şi aceste cuvinte ale mele, cu care am făcut cerere înaintea DOMNULUI, să fie aproape de DOMNUL Dumnezeul nostru ziua şi noaptea, ca să susţină cauza servitorului său şi cauza poporului său, Israel, precum va cere acest lucru;

Let these words I have spoken, by which I have made request before Yahweh, be near Yahweh our God day and night, so that he may help the cause of his servant and the cause of his people Israel, as every day will require;

60 Ca să cunoască toate popoarele pământului că DOMNUL este Dumnezeu şi că nu este nimeni altul.

that all the peoples of the earth may know that Yahweh, he is God, and there is no other God!

61 Inima voastră de aceea, să fie desăvârşită cu DOMNUL Dumnezeul nostru, pentru a umbla în statutele lui şi pentru a păzi poruncile lui, ca în această zi.

Therefore let your heart be true to Yahweh our God, to walk in his statutes and keep his commandments, as on this day.”

62 Şi împăratul şi tot Israelul cu el au oferit sacrificiu înaintea DOMNULUI.

So the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices to Yahweh.

63 Şi Solomon a oferit un sacrificiu de ofrande de pace, pe care l-a oferit DOMNULUI, douăzeci şi două de mii de boi şi o sută douăzeci de mii de oi. Astfel au dedicat împăratul şi toţi copiii lui Israel, casa DOMNULUI.

Solomon offered a sacrifice of fellowship offerings to Yahweh: twenty-two thousand oxen and 120,000 sheep. So the king and all the people of Israel dedicated the house of Yahweh.

64 În aceeaşi zi împăratul a sfinţit mijlocul curţii care era în faţa casei DOMNULUI, pentru că acolo a adus ofrande arse şi daruri de mâncare şi grăsimea ofrandelor de pace, pentru că altarul de aramă, care era înaintea DOMNULUI, era prea mic ca să primească ofrandele arse şi darurile de mâncare şi grăsimea ofrandelor de pace.

The same day the king set apart the middle of the courtyard in front of the temple of Yahweh, for there he offered the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the fat of the fellowship offerings, because the bronze altar that was before Yahweh was too small to receive the burnt offering, the grain offerings, and the fat of the fellowship offerings.

65 Şi atunci Solomon şi tot Israelul cu el a ţinut o sărbătoare, o mare adunare, de la intrarea Hamatului până la râul Egiptului, înaintea DOMNULUI Dumnezeul nostru, şapte zile şi şapte zile, paisprezece zile.

So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great assembly, from Lebo Hamath to the brook of Egypt, before Yahweh our God for seven days and also for another seven days, a total of fourteen days.

66 În ziua a opta a trimis poporul; şi ei au binecuvântat pe împărat şi au mers la corturile lor bucuroşi şi veseli în inimă pentru tot binele pe care DOMNUL îl făcuse servitorului său, David, şi lui Israel, poporul său.

On the eighth day he sent the people away, and they blessed the king and went to their homes with joyful and glad hearts for all the goodness that Yahweh had shown to David, his servant, and to Israel, his people.
