1 Astfel împăratul Solomon era împărat peste tot Israelul.
And king Solomon is king over all Israel,
2 Şi aceştia erau prinţii pe care îi avea: Azaria, fiul preotului Ţadoc,
and these [are] the heads whom he hath: Azariah son of Zadok [is] the priest;
3 Elihoref şi Ahia, fiii lui Şişa, scribi; Iosafat, fiul lui Ahilud, cronicarul.
Elihoreph and Ahiah sons of Shisha [are] scribes; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] remembrancer;
4 Şi Benaia, fiul lui Iehoiada, era peste oştire; şi Ţadoc şi Abiatar erau preoţii;
and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is] over the host; and Zadok and Abiathar [are] priests;
5 Şi Azaria, fiul lui Natan, era peste ofiţeri; şi Zabud, fiul lui Natan, era întâiul dintre ofiţeri şi prieten al împăratului;
and Azariah son of Nathan [is] over the officers; and Zabud son of Nathan [is] minister, friend of the king;
6 Şi Ahişar era peste gospodărie; şi Adoniram, fiul lui Abda, era peste taxă.
And Ahishar [is] over the household, and Adoniram son of Abda [is] over the tribute.
7 Şi Solomon avea doisprezece ofiţeri peste tot Israelul, care se îngrijau de merindele împăratului şi ale casei sale; fiecare făcea provizii o lună pe an.
And Solomon hath twelve officers over all Israel, and they have sustained the king and his household — a month in the year is on each one for sustenance;
8 Şi acestea sunt numele lor: Fiul lui Hur, în muntele lui Efraim;
and these [are] their names: Ben-Hur in the hill-country of Ephraim;
9 Fiul lui Decher, în Macaţ şi în Şaalbim şi în Bet-Şemeş şi în Elon-Bet-Hanan;
Ben-Dekar in Makaz, and Shaalbim, and Beth-Shemesh, and Elon-Beth-Hanan.
10 Fiul lui Hesed, în Arubot; lui îi aparţinea Soco şi toată ţara Hefer;
Ben-Hesed [is] in Aruboth, hath Sochoh and all the land of Hepher;
11 Fiul lui Abinadab, în toată regiunea Dorului; care avea pe Tafat, fiica lui Solomon, de soţie;
Ben-Abinadab [hath] all the elevation of Dor, Taphath daughter of Solomon became his wife.
12 Baana, fiul lui Ahilud, lui îi aparţinea Taanac şi Meghido şi tot Bet-Şeanul, care este lângă Ţartan sub Izreel, de la Bet-Şean până la Abel-Mehola, până dincolo de Iocmeam;
Baana Ben-Ahilud [hath] Taanach and Megiddo, and all Beth-Shean, which [is] by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Beth-Shean unto Abel-Meholah, unto beyond Jokneam.
13 Fiul lui Gheber, în Ramot-Galaad; lui îi aparţineau oraşele lui Iair, fiul lui Manase, care sunt în Galaad; lui de asemenea îi aparţinea regiunea Argob, care este în Basan, şaizeci de cetăţi mari cu ziduri şi zăvoare de aramă;
Ben-Geber, in Ramoth-Gilead, hath the small towns of Jair son of Manasseh, which [are] in Gilead; he hath a portion of Argob that [is] in Bashan, sixty great cities [with] wall and brazen bar.
14 Ahinadab, fiul lui Ido, avea Mahanaim;
Ahinadab son of Iddo [hath] Mahanaim.
15 Ahimaaţ era în Neftali; el de asemenea a luat pe Basmat, fiica lui Solomon, de soţie;
Ahimaaz [is] in Naphtali; he also hath taken Basemath daughter of Solomon for a wife.
16 Baana, fiul lui Huşai, era în Aşer şi în Bealot;
Baanah Ben-Hushai [is] in Asher, and in Aloth.
17 Iosafat, fiul lui Paruah, în Isahar;
Jehoshaphat Ben-Paruah [is] in Issachar.
18 Şimei, fiul lui Ela, în Beniamin;
Shimei Ben-Elah [is] in Benjamin.
19 Gheber, fiul lui Uri, era în ţara Galaad, în ţara lui Sihon, împăratul amoriţilor, şi a lui Og, împăratul Basanului, şi el era singurul ofiţer în ţară.
Geber Ben-Uri [is] in the land of Gilead, the land of Sihon king of the Amorite, and of Og king of Bashan: and one officer who [is] in the land.
20 Iuda şi Israel erau mulţi, ca nisipul care este lângă mare ca mulţime, mâncând şi bând şi bucurându-se.
Judah and Israel [are] many, as the sand that [is] by the sea for multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing.
21 Şi Solomon a domnit peste toate împărăţiile de la râu până la ţara filistenilor şi până la graniţa Egiptului; ei au adus daruri şi i-au servit lui Solomon în toate zilele vieţii sale.
And Solomon hath been ruling over all the kingdoms, from the River [to] the land of the Philistines and unto the border of Egypt: they are bringing nigh a present, and serving Solomon, all days of his life.
22 Şi proviziile lui Solomon pentru o zi erau treizeci de măsuri de floarea făinii şi şaizeci de măsuri de făină,
And the provision of Solomon for one day is thirty cors of flour, and sixty cors of meal;
23 Zece boi graşi şi douăzeci de boi de pe păşuni şi o sută de oi, în afară de cerbi şi de căprioare şi de ciute şi de păsări îngrăşate.
ten fat oxen, and twenty feeding oxen, and a hundred sheep, apart from hart, and roe, and fallow-deer, and fatted beasts of the stalls,
24 Pentru că el avea stăpânire peste toată regiunea de această parte a râului: de la Tifsah chiar până la Gaza, peste toţi împăraţii de această parte a râului; şi avea pace în fiecare parte de jur împrejurul lui.
for he is ruling over all beyond the river, from Tiphsah and unto Gaza, over all the kings beyond the river, and he hath peace from all his servants round about.
25 Şi Iuda şi Israel au locuit în siguranţă, fiecare sub via sa şi sub smochinul său, de la Dan până la Beer-Şeba, în toate zilele lui Solomon.
And Judah dwelleth — and Israel — in confidence, each under his vine, and under his fig-tree, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, all the days of Solomon.
26 Şi Solomon avea patruzeci de mii de iesle de cai pentru carele sale şi douăsprezece mii de călăreţi.
And Solomon hath forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27 Şi acei ofiţeri se îngrijeau de merinde pentru împăratul Solomon şi pentru toţi cei care veneau la masa împăratului Solomon, fiecare în luna sa; nu le lipsea nimic.
And these officers have sustained king Solomon and every one drawing near unto the table of king Solomon, each [in] his month; they let nothing be lacking.
28 Orz de asemenea şi paie pentru cai şi dromaderi le aduceau la locul unde erau ofiţerii, fiecare conform poruncii lui.
And the barley and the straw, for horses and for dromedaries, they bring in unto the place where they are, each according to his ordinance.
29 Şi Dumnezeu i-a dat lui Solomon înţelepciune şi foarte multă înţelegere şi o inimă largă, ca nisipul care este pe ţărmul mării.
And God giveth wisdom to Solomon, and understanding, very much, and breadth of heart, as the sand that [is] on the edge of the sea;
30 Şi înţelepciunea lui Solomon a întrecut înţelepciunea tuturor copiilor ţării din est şi toată înţelepciunea Egiptului.
and the wisdom of Solomon is greater than the wisdom of any of the sons of the east, and than all the wisdom of Egypt;
31 Pentru că el era mai înţelept decât toţi oamenii; decât Etan ezrahitul şi Heman şi Calcol şi Darda, fiii lui Mahol; şi faima lui era în toate naţiunile de jur împrejur.
and he is wiser than all men, than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, sons of Mahol, and his name is in all the nations round about.
32 Şi a rostit trei mii de proverbe; şi cântările lui au fost o mie cinci.
And he speaketh three thousand similes, and his songs [are] five, and the chief one;
33 Şi a vorbit despre copaci, de la cedrul care este în Liban chiar până la isopul care răsare din zid; a vorbit de asemenea despre animale şi despre păsări şi despre târâtoare şi despre peşti.
and he speaketh concerning the trees, from the cedar that [is] in Lebanon, even unto the hyssop that is coming out in the wall, and he speaketh concerning the cattle, and concerning the fowl, and concerning the creeping things, and concerning the fishes,
34 Şi au venit dintre toate popoarele să audă înţelepciunea lui Solomon, de la toţi împăraţii pământului, care auziseră de înţelepciunea lui.
and there come out of all the peoples to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth who have heard of his wisdom.
