1 Regii 22
1 Şi Siria şi Israel au stat trei ani fără război.
And they sit still three years, there is no war between Aram and Israel,
2 Şi s-a întâmplat în al treilea an, că Iosafat, împăratul lui Iuda, a coborât la împăratul lui Israel.
and it cometh to pass in the third year, that Jehoshaphat king of Judah cometh down unto the king of Israel,
3 Şi împăratul lui Israel a spus servitorilor săi: Ştiţi că Ramot în Galaad este al nostru şi noi am tăcut şi nu l-am luat din mâna împăratului Siriei?
and the king of Israel saith unto his servants, 'Have ye not known that ours [is] Ramoth-Gilead? and we are keeping silent from taking it out of the hand of the king of Aram!'
4 Şi i-a spus lui Iosafat: Vei merge cu mine la luptă la Ramot-Galaad? Şi Iosafat i-a spus împăratului lui Israel: Eu sunt precum tu eşti, poporul meu ca poporul tău, caii mei precum caii tăi.
And he saith unto Jehoshaphat, 'Dost thou go with me to battle [to] Ramoth-Gilead?' and Jehoshaphat saith unto the king of Israel, 'As I am, so thou; as my people, so thy people; as my horses, so thy horses.'
5 Şi Iosafat i-a spus împăratului lui Israel: Întreabă, te rog, cuvântul DOMNULUI astăzi.
And Jehoshaphat saith unto the king of Israel, 'Seek, I pray thee, to-day, the word of Jehovah;'
6 Atunci împăratul lui Israel a adunat pe profeţi, cam patru sute de bărbaţi şi le-a spus: Să merg împotriva Ramot-Galaadului la luptă, sau să îl las în pace? Iar ei au spus: Urcă-te; fiindcă DOMNUL îl va da în mâna împăratului.
and the king of Israel gathereth the prophets, about four hundred men, and saith unto them, 'Do I go against Ramoth-Gilead to battle, or do I forbear?' and they say, 'Go up, and the Lord doth give [it] into the hand of the king.'
7 Şi Iosafat a spus: Nu mai este aici un profet al DOMNULUI în afară de aceştia, ca să îl întrebăm?
And Jehoshaphat saith, 'Is there not here a prophet of Jehovah besides, and we seek by him?'
8 Şi împăratul lui Israel i-a spus lui Iosafat: Este încă un bărbat, Micaia, fiul lui Imla, prin care noi putem întreba pe DOMNUL; dar îl urăsc, pentru că nu profeţeşte binele referitor la mine, ci răul. Şi Iosafat a spus: Să nu spună împăratul astfel.
And the king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat, 'Yet — one man to seek Jehovah by him, and I have hated him, for he doth not prophesy concerning me good, but evil — Micaiah son of Imlah;' and Jehoshaphat saith, 'Let not the king say so.'
9 Atunci împăratul lui Israel a chemat un ofiţer şi a spus: Grăbeşte aici pe Micaia, fiul lui Imla.
And the king of Israel calleth unto a certain eunuch, and saith, 'Hasten Micaiah son of Imlah.'
10 Şi împăratul lui Israel şi Iosafat, împăratul lui Iuda, au şezut fiecare pe tronul său, îmbrăcaţi cu robele lor, într-un loc gol la intrarea porţii Samariei; şi toţi profeţii profeţeau înaintea lor.
And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah are sitting, each on his throne, clothed with garments, in a threshing-floor, at the opening of the gate of Samaria, and all the prophets are prophesying before them.
11 Şi Zedechia, fiul lui Chenaana, îşi făcuse coarne de fier; şi spunea: Astfel spune DOMNUL: Cu acestea vei împunge pe sirieni până îi vei mistui.
And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah maketh for himself horns of iron, and saith, 'Thus said Jehovah, By these thou dost push the Aramaeans till they are consumed;'
12 Şi toţi profeţii au profeţit astfel, spunând: Urcă-te la Ramot-Galaad şi prosperă, pentru că DOMNUL îl va da în mâna împăratului.
and all the prophets are prophesying so, saying, 'Go up to Ramoth-Gilead, and prosper, and Jehovah hath given [it] into the hand of the king.'
13 Şi mesagerul care mersese să îl cheme pe Micaia i-a vorbit, spunând: Iată acum, cuvintele profeţilor declară binele împăratului cu o singură gură; să fie cuvântul tău, te rog, ca şi cuvântul unuia dintre ei şi vorbeşte ceea ce este bine.
And the messenger who hath gone to call Micaiah hath spoken unto him, saying, 'Lo, I pray thee, the words of the prophets, with one mouth, [are] good towards the king; let it be, I pray thee, thy word as the word of one of them — and thou hast spoken good.'
14 Şi Micaia a spus: Precum DOMNUL trăieşte: ce DOMNUL îmi va spune, aceea voi vorbi.
And Micaiah saith, 'Jehovah liveth; surely that which Jehovah saith unto me — it I speak.'
15 Astfel el a venit la împărat. Şi împăratul i-a spus: Micaia, să mergem împotriva Ramot-Galaadului la luptă, sau să îl lăsăm în pace? Iar el i-a răspuns: Du-te şi prosperă, pentru că DOMNUL îl va da în mâna împăratului.
And he cometh in unto the king, and the king saith unto him, 'Micaiah, do we go unto Ramoth-Gilead, to battle, or do we forbear?' and he saith unto him, 'Go up, and prosper, and Jehovah hath given [it] into the hand of the king.'
16 Şi împăratul i-a spus: De câte ori să te conjur că nu îmi vei spune decât ce este adevărat în numele DOMNULUI?
And the king saith unto him, 'How many times am I adjuring thee that thou speak nothing unto me but truth in the name of Jehovah?'
17 Iar el a spus: Am văzut tot Israelul împrăştiat pe dealuri, ca oi care nu au păstor; şi DOMNUL a zis: Aceştia nu au stăpân; să se întoarcă fiecare om la casa lui în pace.
And he saith, 'I have seen all Israel scattered on the hills as sheep that have no shepherd, and Jehovah saith, These have no master; they turn back each to his house in peace.'
18 Şi împăratul lui Israel i-a spus lui Iosafat: Nu ţi-am zis eu că nu profeţeşte binele referitor la mine, ci numai răul?
And the king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat, 'Have I not said unto thee, He doth not prophesy of me good, but evil?'
19 Iar el a spus: Ascultă tu de aceea cuvântul DOMNULUI: Am văzut pe DOMNUL şezând pe tronul său şi toată oştirea cerurilor stând în picioare la dreapta lui şi la stânga lui.
And he saith, 'Therefore, hear a word of Jehovah; I have seen Jehovah sitting on His throne, and all the host of the heavens standing by Him, on His right and on His left;
20 Şi DOMNUL a zis: Cine va convinge pe Ahab să se urce şi să cadă la Ramot-Galaad? Şi unul spunea într-un fel şi un altul spunea într-alt fel.
and Jehovah saith, Who doth entice Ahab, and he doth go up and fall in Ramoth-Gilead? and this one saith thus, and that one is saying thus.
21 Şi a ieşit un duh şi a stat în picioare înaintea DOMNULUI şi a zis: Eu îl voi convinge.
'And the spirit goeth out, and standeth before Jehovah, and saith, I — I do entice him; and Jehovah saith unto him, By what?
22 Şi DOMNUL i-a spus: Cum? Iar el a zis: Voi ieşi şi voi fi un duh de minciună în gura tuturor profeţilor lui. Iar el a spus: Să îl convingi şi învingi de asemenea; ieşi şi fă astfel.
and he saith, I go out, and have been a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets; and He saith, Thou dost entice, and also thou art able; go out and do so.
23 De aceea acum, iată, DOMNUL a pus un duh de minciună în gura tuturor acestor profeţi ai tăi şi DOMNUL a vorbit rău referitor la tine.
And now, lo, Jehovah hath put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and Jehovah hath spoken concerning thee — evil.'
24 Dar Zedechia, fiul lui Chenaana, s-a apropiat şi a lovit pe Micaia peste obraz şi a spus: Pe ce cale a plecat Duhul DOMNULUI de la mine pentru a-ţi vorbi ţie?
And Zedekiah son of Chenaanah draweth nigh, and smiteth Micaiah on the cheek, and saith, 'Where [is] this — he hath passed over — the Spirit of Jehovah — from me to speak with thee?'
25 Şi Micaia a zis: Iată, vei vedea în acea zi când vei intra în camera dinăuntru pentru a te ascunde.
And Micaiah saith, 'Lo, thou art seeing on that day, when thou goest in to the innermost chamber to be hidden.'
26 Şi împăratul lui Israel a spus: Ia pe Micaia şi du-l înapoi la Amon, guvernatorul cetăţii, şi la Ioas, fiul împăratului.
And the king of Israel saith, 'Take Micaiah, and turn him back unto Amon head of the city, and unto Joash son of the king,
27 Şi să spui: Astfel zice împăratul: Puneţi pe acesta în închisoare şi hrăniţi-l cu pâinea chinuirii şi cu apa chinuirii, până mă întorc în pace.
and thou hast said, Thus said the king, Place ye this one in the house of restraint, and cause him to eat bread of oppression, and water of oppression, till my coming in peace.'
28 Şi Micaia a zis: Dacă te întorci cu adevărat în pace, DOMNUL nu a vorbit prin mine. Şi el a spus: Daţi ascultare, popoarelor, fiecare dintre voi.
And Micaiah saith, 'If thou at all return in peace — Jehovah hath not spoken by me;' and he saith, 'Hear, O peoples, all of them.'
29 Astfel, împăratul lui Israel şi Iosafat, împăratul lui Iuda, s-au urcat la Ramot-Galaad.
And the king of Israel goeth up, and Jehoshaphat king of Judah, to Ramoth-Gilead.
30 Şi împăratul lui Israel i-a spus lui Iosafat: Eu mă voi deghiza şi voi intra în bătălie; dar tu îmbracă-te cu robele tale. Şi împăratul lui Israel s-a deghizat şi a mers în bătălie.
And the king of Israel saith unto Jehoshaphat to disguise himself, and to go into battle, 'And thou, put on thy garments.' And the king of Israel disguiseth himself, and goeth into battle.
31 Dar împăratul Siriei poruncise celor treizeci şi două de căpetenii care conduceau carele sale, spunând: Nu vă luptaţi nici cu cel mic nici cu cel mare, în afară numai de împăratul lui Israel.
And the king of Aram commanded the heads of the charioteers whom he hath — thirty and two — saying, 'Ye do not fight with small or with great, but with the king of Israel by himself.'
32 Şi s-a întâmplat, când căpeteniile carelor l-au văzut pe Iosafat, că au spus: Negreşit acesta este împăratul lui Israel. Şi s-au abătut pentru a lupta împotriva lui; şi Iosafat a strigat.
And it cometh to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing Jehoshaphat, that they said, 'He [is] only the king of Israel;' and they turn aside to him to fight, and Jehoshaphat crieth out,
33 Şi s-a întâmplat, când căpeteniile carelor au priceput că acesta nu era împăratul lui Israel, că s-au întors de la a-l urmări.
and it cometh to pass, at the heads of the charioteers seeing that he [is] not the king of Israel, that they turn back from after him.
34 Şi un anumit om a tras cu arcul la întâmplare şi a lovit pe împăratul lui Israel între încheieturile armurii; de aceea el a spus conducătorului carului său: Întoarce-ţi mâna şi scoate-mă din oştire, pentru că sunt rănit.
And a man hath drawn with a bow, in his simplicity, and smiteth the king of Israel between the joinings and the coat of mail, and he saith to his charioteer, 'Turn thy hand, and take me out from the camp, for I have become sick.'
35 Şi bătălia a crescut în acea zi; şi împăratul a stat în picioare în carul său împotriva sirienilor şi a murit seara; şi sângele curgea din rană în mijlocul carului.
And the battle increaseth on that day, and the king hath been caused to stand in the chariot, over-against Aram, and he dieth in the evening, and the blood of the wound runneth out unto the midst of the chariot,
36 Şi pe la apusul soarelui s-a făcut o strigare prin toată oştirea, spunând: Fiecare om la cetatea sa şi fiecare om la ţara sa!
and he causeth the cry to pass over through the camp, at the going in of the sun, saying, 'Each unto his city, and each unto his land.'
37 Astfel împăratul a murit şi a fost adus la Samaria; şi l-au îngropat pe împărat în Samaria.
And the king dieth, and cometh into Samaria, and they bury the king in Samaria;
38 Şi unul spăla carul în iazul Samariei; şi câinii au lins sângele său; şi i-au spălat armura; conform cuvântului DOMNULUI pe care îl spusese.
and [one] rinseth the chariot by the pool of Samaria, and the dogs lick his blood — when the armour they had washed — according to the word of Jehovah that He spake.
39 Şi restul faptelor lui Ahab şi tot ce a făcut, şi casa de fildeş pe care a făcut-o, şi toate cetăţile pe care le-a construit, nu sunt ele scrise în cartea cronicilor împăraţilor lui Israel?
And the rest of the matters of Ahab, and all that he did, and the house of ivory that he built, and all the cities that he built, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel?
40 Astfel, Ahab a adormit cu părinţii săi; şi Ahazia, fiul său, a domnit în locul său.
And Ahab lieth with his fathers, and Ahaziah his son reigneth in his stead.
41 Şi Iosafat, fiul lui Asa, a început să domnească peste Iuda în al patrulea an al lui Ahab, împăratul lui Israel.
And Jehoshaphat son of Asa hath reigned over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel,
42 Iosafat avea treizeci şi cinci de ani când a început să domnească şi a domnit douăzeci şi cinci de ani în Ierusalim. Şi numele mamei lui era Azuba, fiica lui Şilhi.
Jehoshaphat [is] a son of thirty and five years in his reigning, and twenty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Azubah daughter of Shilhi.
43 Şi el a umblat în toate căile lui Asa, tatăl său; şi nu s-a abătut de la împlinirea lor, făcând ceea ce era drept în ochii DOMNULUI; totuşi înălţimile nu au fost îndepărtate, fiindcă poporul încă oferea şi ardea tămâie pe înălţimi.
And he walketh in all the way of Asa his father, he hath not turned aside from it, to do that which [is] right in the eyes of Jehovah; only the high places have not turned aside, yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places.
44 Şi Iosafat a făcut pace cu împăratul lui Israel.
And Jehoshaphat maketh peace with the king of Israel;
45 Şi restul faptelor lui Iosafat şi puterea sa pe care a arătat-o şi cum s-a războit, nu sunt ele scrise în cartea cronicilor împăraţilor lui Iuda?
and the rest of the matters of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he got, and with which he fought, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?
46 Şi rămăşiţa de sodomiţi, care rămăsese din zilele tatălui său, Asa, a alungat-o din ţară.
And the remnant of the whoremongers who were left in the days of Asa his father he took away out of the land;
47 Nu era atunci un împărat în Edom; un guvernator era împărat.
and there is no king in Edom; he set up a king.
48 Iosafat a făcut corăbiile din Tarsis să meargă la Ofir după aur; dar ele nu au mers; căci corăbiile s-au sfărâmat în Eţion-Gheber.
Jehoshaphat made ships at Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold, and they went not, for the ships were broken in Ezion-Geber.
49 Atunci i-a spus Ahazia, fiul lui Ahab, lui Iosafat: Să meargă servitorii mei cu servitorii tăi în corăbii. Dar Iosafat a refuzat.
Then said Ahaziah son of Ahab unto Jehoshaphat, 'Let my servants go with thy servants in the ships;' and Jehoshaphat was not willing.
50 Şi Iosafat a adormit cu părinţii săi şi a fost îngropat cu părinţii săi în cetatea lui David, tatăl său; şi Ioram, fiul său, a domnit în locul său.
And Jehoshaphat lieth with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David his father, and Jehoram his son reigneth in his stead.
51 Ahazia, fiul lui Ahab, a început să domnească peste Israel în Samaria în anul al şaptesprezecelea al lui Iosafat, împăratul lui Iuda, şi a domnit doi ani peste Israel.
Ahaziah son of Ahab hath reigned over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigneth over Israel two years,
52 Şi el a făcut ce este rău în ochii DOMNULUI şi a umblat în calea tatălui său şi în calea mamei sale şi în calea lui Ieroboam, fiul lui Nebat, care făcuse pe Israel să păcătuiască;
and doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and walketh in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam son of Nebat who caused Israel to sin,
53 Fiindcă a servit lui Baal şi i s-a închinat şi l-a provocat la mânie pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul lui Israel, conform cu tot ce făcuse tatăl său.
and serveth the Baal, and boweth himself to it, and provoketh Jehovah, God of Israel, according to all that his father had done.
