1 Regii 11

1 Dar împăratul Solomon a iubit multe femei străine, împreună cu fiica lui Faraon: femei ale moabiţilor, amoniţilor, edomiţilor, sidonienilor şi hitiţilor;

Bvt King Salomon loued many outlandish women: both the daughter of Pharaoh, and the women of Moab, Ammon, Edom, Zidon and Heth,

2 Dintre naţiunile referitor la care DOMNUL spusese copiilor lui Israel: Să nu intraţi la ele, nici ele să nu intre la voi; căci într-adevăr ele vă vor întoarce inima după dumnezeii lor; Solomon s-a alipit de acestea în iubire.

Of the nations, whereof the Lord had sayd vnto the children of Israel, Goe not ye in to them, nor let them come in to you: for surely they will turne your hearts after their gods, to them, I say, did Salomon ioyne in loue.

3 Şi el avea şapte sute de soţii, prinţese, şi trei sute de concubine; şi soţiile lui i-au întors inima.

And he had seuen hundreth wiues, that were princesses, and three hundreth concubines, and his wiues turned away his heart.

4 Fiindcă s-a întâmplat, când a îmbătrânit Solomon, că soţiile lui i-au întors inima după alţi dumnezei; şi inima lui nu a fost desăvârşită cu DOMNUL Dumnezeul său, precum a fost inima lui David, tatăl său.

For when Salomon was olde, his wiues turned his heart after other gods, so that his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of Dauid his father.

5 Fiindcă Solomon a mers după Astarteea, zeiţa sidonienilor, şi după Milcom, urâciunea amoniţilor.

For Salomon followed Ashtaroth the god of the Zidonians, and Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.

6 Şi Solomon a făcut ce este rău în ochii DOMNULUI şi nu a mers pe deplin după DOMNUL, precum a făcut David, tatăl său.

So Salomon wrought wickednesse in the sight of the Lord, but continued not to follow the Lord, as did Dauid his father.

7 Atunci Solomon a construit o înălţime pentru Chemoş, urâciunea Moabului, pe dealul care este înaintea Ierusalimului, şi pentru Moloh, urâciunea copiilor lui Amon.

Then did Salomon build an hie place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, in the mountaine that is ouer against Ierusalem, and vnto Molech the abomination of the children of Ammon.

8 Şi la fel a făcut pentru toate soţiile lui străine, care ardeau tămâie şi sacrificau dumnezeilor lor.

And so did he for all his outlandish wiues, which burnt incense and offered vnto their gods.

9 Şi DOMNUL s-a mâniat pe Solomon, pentru că inima lui era întoarsă de la DOMNUL Dumnezeul lui Israel, care i se arătase de două ori,

Therefore the Lord was angry with Salomon, because hee had turned his heart from the Lord God of Israel, which had appeared vnto him twise,

10 Şi îi poruncise referitor la acest lucru, să nu meargă după alţi dumnezei; dar el nu a păzit ceea ce DOMNUL poruncise.

And had giuen him a charge concerning this thing, that he should not follow other gods: but he kept not that, which the Lord had commanded him.

11 De aceea DOMNUL i-a spus lui Solomon: Pentru că ai făcut acest lucru, şi nu ai ţinut legământul meu şi statutele mele, pe care ţi le-am poruncit, voi rupe negreşit împărăţia de la tine şi o voi da servitorului tău.

Wherefore the Lord sayd vnto Salomon, Forasmuch as this is done of thee, and thou hast not kept my couenant, and my statutes (which I commanded thee) I will surely rent the kingdome from thee, and will giue it to thy seruant.

12 Totuşi, nu voi face aceasta în zilele tale din cauza lui David, tatăl tău, ci o voi rupe din mâna fiului tău.

Notwithstanding in thy dayes I will not doe it, because of Dauid thy father, but I will rent it out of the hand of thy sonne:

13 Totuşi, nu voi rupe toată împărăţia; ci voi da un trib fiului tău, din cauza lui David, servitorul meu, şi din cauza Ierusalimului pe care l-am ales.

Howbeit I wil not rent all the Kingdome, but will giue one tribe to thy sonne, because of Dauid my seruant, and because of Ierusalem which I haue chosen.

14 Şi DOMNUL a stârnit un potrivnic lui Solomon, pe Hadad edomitul; el era din sămânţa împăratului din Edom.

Then the Lord stirred vp an aduersarie vnto Salomon, euen Hadad the Edomite, of the Kings seede, which was in Edom.

15 Fiindcă s-a întâmplat, când era David în Edom şi Ioab, căpetenia oştirii, se urcase să înmormânteze pe cei ucişi, după ce lovise fiecare parte bărbătească în Edom,

For when Dauid was in Edom, and Ioab the captaine of the hoste had smitten all the males in Edom, and was gone vp to bury ye slaine,

16 (Pentru că şase luni a rămas Ioab acolo cu tot Israelul, până când a stârpit fiecare parte bărbătească în Edom),

(For six moneths did Ioab remaine there, and all Israel, till he had destroyed all the males in Edom)

17 Că Hadad a fugit, el şi anumiţi edomiţi dintre servitorii tatălui său cu el, pentru a merge în Egipt; Hadad fiind încă un copil mic.

Then this Hadad fled and certaine other Edomites of his fathers seruants with him, to goe into Egypt, Hadad being yet a litle childe.

18 Şi ei s-au ridicat din Madian şi au venit la Paran; şi au luat cu ei oameni din Paran şi au venit în Egipt, la Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, care i-a dat o casă şi i-a rânduit merinde şi i-a dat pământ.

And they arose out of Midian, and came to Paran, and tooke men with them out of Paran, and came to Egypt vnto Pharaoh King of Egypt, which gaue him an house, and appointed him vitailes, and gaue him lande.

19 Şi Hadad a găsit mare favoare în ochii lui Faraon, astfel încât el i-a dat de soţie pe sora propriei lui soţii, pe sora împărătesei Tahpenes.

So Hadad found great fauour in the sight of Pharaoh, and he gaue him to wife the sister of his owne wife, euen the sister of Tahpenes the Queene.

20 Şi sora Tahpenei i-a născut pe Ghenubat, fiul său, pe care Tahpenes l-a înţărcat în casa lui Faraon; şi Ghenubat a fost în casa lui Faraon între fiii lui Faraon.

And the sister of Tahpenes bare him Genubath his sonne, whome Tahpenes wayned in Pharaohs house: and Genubath was in Pharaohs house among the sonnes of Pharaoh.

21 Şi când Hadad a auzit din Egipt că David a adormit cu părinţii săi şi că Ioab, căpetenia oştirii, era mort, Hadad i-a spus lui Faraon: Lasă-mă să plec, să merg în ţara mea.

And when Hadad heard in Egypt, that Dauid slept with his fathers, and that Ioab the captaine of the hoste was dead, Hadad sayde to Pharaoh, Let me depart, that I may goe to mine owne countrey.

22 Atunci Faraon i-a spus: Dar ce ţi-a lipsit cu mine, că, iată, tu cauţi să mergi în ţara ta? Şi el a răspuns: Nimic, totuşi oricum dă-mi drumul.

But Pharaoh saide vnto him, What hast thou lacked with me, that thou wouldest thus go to thine owne countrey? And he answered, Nothing, but in any wise let me goe.

23 Şi Dumnezeu i-a stârnit un alt potrivnic, pe Rezon, fiul lui Eliada, care fugise de la stăpânul său Hadadezer, împăratul din Ţoba;

And God stirred him vp another aduersarie, Rezon the sonne of Eliada, which fled from his lorde Hadadezer King of Zobah.

24 Şi el a adunat la sine oameni şi a devenit căpetenie peste o ceată când David a ucis pe cei din Ţoba, şi au mers la Damasc şi au locuit acolo şi au domnit în Damasc.

And he gathered men vnto him, and had bene captaine ouer the company, when Dauid slew them. And they went to Damascus, and dwelt there, and they made him King in Damascus.

25 Şi el a fost un potrivnic lui Israel în toate zilele lui Solomon, pe lângă ticăloşia pe care a făcut-o Hadad şi el a detestat pe Israel şi a domnit peste Siria.

Therefore was he an aduersarie to Israel all the daies of Salomon: besides the euil that Hadad did, he also abhorred Israel, and reigned ouer Aram

26 Şi Ieroboam, fiul lui Nebat, un efratit din Ţereda, servitorul lui Solomon, numele mamei lui fiind Ţerua, o femeie văduvă, chiar şi el şi-a ridicat mâna împotriva împăratului.

And Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat an Ephrathite of Zereda Salomons seruant (whose mother was called Zeruah a widowe) lift vp his hand against the King.

27 Şi acesta a fost motivul pentru care el şi-a ridicat mâna împotriva împăratului: Solomon a construit Milo şi a reparat spărturile cetăţii lui David, tatăl său.

And this was the cause that he lift vp his hande against the King, When Salomon built Millo, he repared the broken places of the citie of Dauid his father.

28 Şi bărbatul Ieroboam era un războinic viteaz; şi Solomon, văzând că tânărul era sârguincios, l-a făcut conducător peste toată sarcina casei lui Iosif.

And this man Ieroboam was a man of strength and courage, and Salomon seeing that the yong man was meete for the worke, he made him ouerseer of all the labour of the house of Ioseph.

29 Şi s-a întâmplat în acel timp, când Ieroboam a ieşit din Ierusalim, că profetul Ahiia şilonitul, l-a găsit pe cale; şi el se îmbrăcase cu o haină nouă; şi cei doi erau singuri pe câmp;

And at that time, when Ieroboam went out of Ierusalem, the Prophet Ahiiah the Shilonite founde him in the way, hauing a newe garment on him, and they two were alone in ye field.

30 Şi Ahiia a apucat haina cea nouă care era pe el şi a rupt-o în douăsprezece bucăţi;

Then Ahiiah caught the newe garment that was on him, and rent it in twelue pieces,

31 Şi i-a spus lui Ieroboam: Ia-ţi zece bucăţi, pentru că astfel spune DOMNUL, Dumnezeul lui Israel: Iată, voi rupe împărăţia din mâna lui Solomon şi îţi voi da ţie zece triburi;

And said to Ieroboam, Take vnto thee ten pieces: for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Beholde, I wil rent the kingdome out of ye hands of Salomon, and will giue ten tribes to thee.

32 (Dar el va avea un trib, din cauza servitorului meu David şi din cauza Ierusalimului, cetatea pe care am ales-o dintre toate triburile lui Israel);

But he shall haue one tribe for my seruant Dauids sake, and for Ierusalem the citie, which I haue chosen out of all the tribes of Israel,

33 Deoarece ei m-au părăsit şi s-au închinat Astarteei, zeiţa sidonienilor, lui Chemoş, dumnezeul moabiţilor, şi lui Milcom, dumnezeul copiilor lui Amon, şi nu au umblat în căile mele, pentru a face ceea ce este drept în ochii mei şi pentru a ţine statutele mele şi judecăţile mele, precum a făcut David, tatăl lui.

Because they haue forsaken me, and haue worshipped Ashtaroth the god of the Zidonians, and Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the Ammonites, and haue not walked in my wayes (to do right in mine eyes, and my statutes, and my lawes) as did Dauid his father.

34 Totuşi, nu voi lua toată împărăţia din mâna lui; ci îl voi face prinţ toate zilele vieţii lui din cauza lui David, servitorul meu, pe care l-am ales, fiindcă el a păzit poruncile mele şi statutele mele;

But I will not take the whole kingdome out of his hande: for I will make him prince all his life long for Dauid my seruants sake, whome I haue chosen, and who kept my commandements and my statutes.

35 Dar voi lua împărăţia din mâna fiului său şi ţi-o voi da ţie, zece triburi.

But I will take the kingdome out of his sonnes hand, and will giue it vnto thee, euen the ten tribes.

36 Şi fiului său îi voi da un trib, astfel încât David, servitorul meu, să aibă o lumină întotdeauna înaintea mea în Ierusalim, cetatea pe care mi-am ales-o pentru a-mi pune numele acolo.

And vnto his sonne will I giue one tribe, that Dauid my seruant may haue a light alway before me in Ierusalem the citie, which I haue chosen me, to put my Name there.

37 Şi te voi lua pe tine şi vei domni conform cu tot ce sufletul tău doreşte şi vei fi împărat peste Israel.

And I wil take thee, and thou shalt reigne, euen as thine heart desireth, and shalt be King ouer Israel.

38 Şi va fi astfel, dacă vei da ascultare la tot ce eu îţi poruncesc şi vei umbla în căile mele şi vei face ce este drept în ochii mei, pentru a păzi statutele mele şi poruncile mele, precum a făcut David, servitorul meu, că voi fi cu tine şi îţi voi zidi o casă sigură, precum am zidit pentru David şi îţi voi da ţie pe Israel.

And if thou hearken vnto all that I commande thee, and wilt walke in my wayes, and doe right in my sight, to keepe my statutes and my commandements, as Dauid my seruant did, then will I be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built vnto Dauid, and wil giue Israel vnto thee.

39 Şi pentru aceasta voi chinui sămânţa lui David, dar nu pentru totdeauna.

And I will for this afflict the seede of Dauid, but not for euer.

40 Solomon a căutat de aceea să îl ucidă pe Ieroboam. Şi Ieroboam s-a ridicat şi a fugit în Egipt, la Şişac, împăratul Egiptului, şi a fost în Egipt până la moartea lui Solomon.

Salomon sought therefore to kill Ieroboam, and Ieroboam arose, and fled into Egypt vnto Shishak King of Egypt, and was in Egypt vntil the death of Salomon.

41 Şi restul faptelor lui Solomon şi tot ce a făcut el şi înţelepciunea lui, nu sunt ele scrise în cartea faptelor lui Solomon?

And the rest of the wordes of Salomon, and all that he did, and his wisedom, are they not written in the booke of the actes of Salomon?

42 Şi timpul cât Solomon a domnit în Ierusalim peste tot Israelul a fost patruzeci de ani.

The time that Salomon reigned in Ierusalem ouer all Israel, was fourtie yeere.

43 Şi Solomon a adormit cu părinţii săi şi a fost îngropat în cetatea lui David, tatăl său; şi Roboam, fiul său, a domnit în locul său.

And Salomon slept with his fathers and was buried in the citie of Dauid his father: and Rehoboam his sonne reigned in his steade.
