1 Şi când împărăteasa din Seba a auzit de faima lui Solomon în lucruri referitoare la numele DOMNULUI, a venit să îl încerce cu întrebări grele.

And, when, the queen of Sheba, heard the report of Solomon, as pertaining to the Name of Yahweh, she came to prove him, with abstruse questions.

2 Şi a venit la Ierusalim cu un alai foarte mare, cu cămile care purtau mirodenii şi foarte mult aur, şi cu pietre preţioase; şi când a venit la Solomon, a vorbit îndeaproape cu el despre tot ce era în inima ei.

Yea she came to Jerusalem with a very heavily-laden train, of camels bearing spices, and gold in great abundance, and precious stones, —and, when she was come to Solomon, she spake unto him all that was near her heart;

3 Şi Solomon i-a răspuns la toate întrebările ei; nu a fost niciun lucru ascuns pentru împărat, pe care să nu i-l fi spus.

and Solomon answered her all her questions, —there was nothing hidden from the king, which he told her not.

4 Şi când împărăteasa din Seba a văzut toată înţelepciunea lui Solomon şi casa pe care el o construise,

And, when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, —and the house which he had built;

5 Şi mâncarea de la masa lui şi ţinuta servitorilor lui şi atenţia servitorilor lui şi hainele lor şi paharnicii lui şi urcuşul lui pe care urca la casa DOMNULUI, nu a mai fost suflare în ea.

and the food of his table, and the seated assembly of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers with their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he ascended unto the house of Yahweh, there was in her no more spirit.

6 Şi a spus împăratului: A fost adevărată vorbirea pe care am auzit-o în ţara mea despre faptele tale şi despre înţelepciunea ta.

And she said unto the king, True, was the word which I heard in mine own land, —concerning thine affairs, and concerning thy wisdom.

7 Totuşi, nu am crezut aceste cuvinte, până când am venit şi ochii mei au văzut; şi, iată, nici jumătate nu mi s-a spus, înţelepciunea ta şi prosperitatea ta întrec faima despre care am auzit.

Howbeit I believed not the words, until that I had come and mine own eyes had seen, and lo! there had not been told me, the half, —thou dost exceed, in wisdom and prosperity, even the report which I heard!

8 Ferice de oamenii tăi, ferice de aceşti servitori ai tăi, care stau în picioare continuu înaintea ta şi care ascultă înţelepciunea ta.

How happy, are thy wives, how happy, are these thy servants, —who do stand before thee continually, who hear thy wisdom!

9 Binecuvântat fie DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău, care şi-a găsit plăcere în tine, ca să te pună pe tronul lui Israel, pentru că DOMNUL a iubit pe Israel pentru totdeauna, de aceea te-a făcut împărat, pentru a face judecată şi dreptate.

Yahweh thy God be blessed, who delighted in thee, to set thee upon the throne of Israel, —because Yahweh loveth Israel unto times age-abiding, therefore hath he appointed thee to be king, to execute justice and righteousness.

10 Şi ea a dat împăratului o sută douăzeci de talanţi de aur şi foarte multe mirodenii şi pietre preţioase; nu a mai venit o atât de mare abundenţă de mirodenii ca cele pe care împărăteasa din Seba le-a dat împăratului Solomon.

And she gave unto the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in great abundance, and precious stones, —there came in no more, such spice for abundance, as that which the queen of Sheba gave unto King Solomon.

11 Şi de asemenea flota lui Hiram, care aducea aur din Ofir, a adus din Ofir foarte mult lemn de santal şi pietre preţioase.

Moreover also, the fleet of Hiram, which brought gold from Ophir, brought in, from Ophir sandal-wood in great abundance, and precious stones.

12 Şi împăratul a făcut, din lemnele de santal, stâlpi pentru casa DOMNULUI şi pentru casa împăratului, harpe de asemenea şi psalterioane pentru cântăreţi; nu a venit astfel de lemn de santal, nici nu s-a mai văzut până în această zi.

So the king made of the sandal-wood a footpath to the house of Yahweh, and to the house of the king, lyres also and harps, for the singers, —there hath neither come in such sandal-wood, nor been seen, unto this day.

13 Şi împăratul Solomon a dat împărătesei din Seba tot ce a dorit ea, orice a cerut, în afară de ceea ce i-a dat Solomon din darul lui împărătesc. Astfel, ea s-a întors şi a plecat în ţara ei, ea şi servitorii ei.

And, when, King Solomon, had given unto the queen of Sheba, all her desire, which she asked, besides that which he gave her as the bounty of King Solomon, she turned, and went to her own land, she and her servants.

14 Şi greutatea aurului care venea la Solomon într-un an era de şase sute şaizeci şi şase de talanţi de aur,

And it came to pass that, the weight of the gold which came in unto Solomon in one year, was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold;

15 În afară de ce avea de la comercianţi şi din comerţul comercianţilor de mirodenii şi de la toţi împăraţii Arabiei şi de la guvernatorii ţării.

besides the tribute of the subjugated, and of the travelling merchants, —and of all the kings of Arabia, and the pashas of the land.

16 Şi împăratul Solomon a făcut două sute de paveze de aur bătut, şase sute de şekeli de aur au intrat la o pavăză.

And King Solomon made two hundred shields, of beaten gold, six hundred [shekels] of gold, laid he upon one shield;

17 Şi el a făcut trei sute de scuturi de aur bătut, a folosit trei mine de aur la un scut; şi împăratul le-a pus în casa pădurii Libanului.

and three hundred bucklers, of beaten gold, one hundred and fifty shekels of gold, laid he upon one buckler, —and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

18 Mai mult, împăratul a făcut un tron mare de fildeş şi l-a placat cu cel mai bun aur.

And the king made a great throne of ivory, —and overlaid it with gold from Uphaz.

19 Tronul avea şase trepte şi vârful tronului era rotund pe dinapoia sa; şi erau rezemători de fiecare parte a locului de şezut şi doi lei stăteau lângă rezemători.

There were, six steps, to the throne, and there was, a circular top, to the throne, behind it, and there were supports on this side and on that, unto the place of the seat, —with two lions standing beside the supports;

20 Şi doisprezece lei stăteau acolo de o parte şi de alta pe cele şase trepte; nu era făcut ceva asemănător în nicio împărăţie.

and, twelve lions, were standing there, upon the six steps, on this side and on that, —there had never been made the like, for any of the kingdoms.

21 Şi toate vasele de băut ale împăratului Solomon erau de aur şi toate vasele casei pădurii Libanului erau de aur pur; niciunul nu era de argint, care era socotit ca nimic în zilele lui Solomon.

And, all the drinking vessels of King Solomon, were of gold, and, all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon, were of pure gold, —none was of silver, it was accounted in the days of Solomon, as nothing.

22 Pentru că împăratul avea pe mare o flotă din Tarsis cu flota lui Hiram; o dată la trei ani venea flota de corăbii din Tarsis, aducând aur şi argint, fildeş şi maimuţe şi păuni.

For, a fleet of Tarshish, had the king, at sea, with the fleet of Hiram, —once in three years, came in the fleet of Tarshish, bringing gold and silver, ivory and apes, and peacocks.

23 Astfel împăratul Solomon a întrecut pe toţi împăraţii pământului în bogăţii şi în înţelepciune.

So King Solomon became greater than any of the kings of the earth, —for riches and for wisdom.

24 Şi tot pământul căuta faţa lui Solomon, pentru a auzi înţelepciunea lui, pe care Dumnezeu o pusese în inima lui.

And, all the earth, did seek the face of Solomon, —to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

25 Şi fiecare îşi aducea darul său: vase de argint şi vase de aur şi haine şi arme şi mirodenii şi cai şi catâri, o măsură an de an.

And, they, did bring every man his present—vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses and mules, —a rate of a year in a year.

26 Şi Solomon a adunat care şi călăreţi; şi a avut o mie patru sute de care şi douăsprezece mii de călăreţi, pe care i-a pus în cetăţile unde se ţineau carele şi în Ierusalim, cu împăratul.

And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen, and so it was that he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, —for whom he found place in the chariot cities, and near the king, in Jerusalem.

27 Şi împăratul a făcut argintul la Ierusalim să fie ca pietrele şi cedrii i-a făcut să fie ca sicomorii care sunt în vale, din abundenţă.

And the king caused silver in Jerusalem to be as stones, —cedars also, caused he to be as the sycamores that are in the lowlands, for abundance.

28 Şi Solomon a avut cai aduşi din Egipt şi in împletit; comercianţii împăratului primeau inul împletit cu un preţ.

And the horses that Solomon had were, an export, out of Egypt, —and, a company of the merchants of the king, used to fetch, a drove, at a price,

29 Şi un car venea şi ieşea din Egipt pentru şase sute de şekeli de argint şi un cal pentru o sută cincizeci; şi astfel pentru toţi împăraţii hetiţilor şi pentru împăraţii Siriei, au adus acestea prin mijloacele lor.

And a chariot came up and forth out of Egypt, for six hundred shekels of silver and a horse for a hundred and fifty, —and, so, for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means, came they forth.
