1 Corinteni 10
1 Mai mult, fraților, nu vă voiesc neștiutori, că toți părinții noștri au fost sub nor, și toți au trecut prin mare;
BUT I would not that you should be ignorant, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 Și toți au fost botezați la Moise în nor și în mare;
and were all baptised unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 Și toți au mâncat aceeași mâncare spirituală,
and did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 Și toți au băut aceeași băutură spirituală, fiindcă au băut din acea Stâncă spirituală ce îi urma; și acea Stâncă era Cristos.
and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual rock which followed them; but that rock was Christ.
5 Dar în cei mai mulți dintre ei Dumnezeu nu și-a găsit plăcerea, fiindcă au fost doborâți în pustie.
Nevertheless with the most of them God was not well pleased, for they were destroyed in the wilderness.
6 Și acestea au fost exemplele noastre, pentru ca noi să nu poftim după lucruri rele, așa cum și aceia au poftit.
Now these things were examples for us, that we might not be coveters of evil things, as they also coveted.
7 Nici nu fiți idolatri ca unii dintre ei; așa cum este scris: Poporul a șezut să mănânce și să bea și s-au sculat să joace.
Neither be ye idolaters as some of them; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to sport themselves.”
8 Nici să nu curvim, așa cum unii dintre ei au curvit și au căzut într-o [singură] zi douăzeci și trei de mii.
Neither let us commit whoredom, as some of them also committed, and in one day fell twenty-three thousand.
9 Nici să nu ispitim pe Cristos, după cum unii dintre ei l-au ispitit și au fost nimiciți de șerpi.
Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents.
10 Nici nu cârtiți, după cum au cârtit unii dintre ei și au fost nimiciți de nimicitorul.
Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
11 Și toate acestea li s-au întâmplat ca să fie exemple; și sunt scrise pentru avertizarea noastră, peste care au ajuns sfârșiturile lumii. (aiōn g165)
Now all these things happened unto them as examples, but they are written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages are come. (aiōn g165)
12 De aceea cel ce gândește că stă în picioare să ia seama ca nu cumva să cadă.
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall.
13 Nu v-a luat nicio ispită, decât ceva obișnuit omului; dar credincios este Dumnezeu care nu va permite să fiți ispitiți peste ce sunteți în stare, ci împreună cu ispita va face și o cale de scăpare, ca voi să fiți în stare să o purtați.
No temptation hath overtaken you, but what is common to men. And God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted beyond what ye are able to bear; but will with the temptation make also a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear up under it.
14 De aceea, preaiubiții mei, fugiți de idolatrie.
Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
15 Vorbesc ca unor oameni înțelepți; judecați voi ce spun.
I speak as unto wise men: judge ye what I say.
16 Paharul binecuvântării, pe care îl binecuvântăm, nu este el comuniunea sângelui lui Cristos? Pâinea, pe care o frângem, nu este comuniunea trupului lui Cristos?
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
17 Pentru că noi, fiind mulți, suntem o singură pâine, un singur trup, fiindcă toți suntem părtași din acea singură pâine.
For we, though many, are one loaf, one body; for we all partake of that one loaf.
18 Uitați-vă la Israelul conform cărnii; nu sunt cei ce mănâncă sacrificiile părtași ai altarului?
Behold Israel after the flesh. Are not they who eat of the sacrifices partakers with the altar?
19 Atunci ce spun? Că idolul este ceva, sau ceea ce este sacrificat idolilor este ceva?
What do I say then? that an idol is any thing, or that which is sacrificed to an idol is any thing?
20 Dar spun că lucrurile pe care neamurile le sacrifică, le sacrifică dracilor și nu lui Dumnezeu, și eu nu voiesc să aveți părtășie cu dracii.
But that what the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to daemons, and not to God: and I would not have you in communion with daemons.
21 Nu puteți bea paharul Domnului și paharul dracilor; nu puteți fi părtași ai mesei Domnului și ai mesei dracilor.
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of daemons: ye cannot be partakers of the table of the Lord, and the table of daemons.
22 Îl provocăm pe Domnul la gelozie? Suntem mai tari decât el?
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
23 Toate îmi sunt legiuite, dar nu toate sunt de folos. Toate îmi sunt legiuite, dar nu toate edifică.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not profitable; all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
24 Nimeni să nu caute folosul lui, ci fiecare pe al celuilalt.
Let no man seek his own gratification, but every one another’s good.
25 Orice se vinde în măcelărie, mâncați, necercetând nimic din cauza conștiinței.
Every thing which is sold in the shambles eat, asking no question for conscience sake;
26 Fiindcă al Domnului este pământul și plinătatea lui.
“for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.”
27 Și dacă cineva dintre cei ce nu cred vă invită și doriți să mergeți, mâncați orice vă este pus înainte, necercetând nimic din cauza conștiinței.
And if any one of those, who do not believe, invite you, and ye incline to go, eat every thing set before you, asking no question for conscience sake.
28 Dar dacă cineva vă spune: Aceasta este sacrificată idolilor, nu mâncați pentru cel ce v-a înștiințat și pentru conștiință, fiindcă al Domnului este pământul și plinătatea lui,
But if any person say unto you, This is an idol’s sacrifice, eat not of it, for his sake who pointed it out, and for conscience sake. For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.
29 Dar conștiința, spun eu, nu a ta, ci a celuilalt; fiindcă de ce să fie judecată libertatea mea de conștiința altuia?
Conscience indeed I say, not merely thine own, but that of the other person.
30 Iar dacă eu prin har sunt părtaș, de ce să fiu vorbit de rău pentru aceea pentru care aduc mulțumiri?
For why is my liberty abridged by another’s conscience? If I truly with thanksgiving am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
31 De aceea fie că mâncați, fie că beți, fie că faceți altceva, faceți toate pentru gloria lui Dumnezeu.
Whether therefore ye eat or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all things to the glory of God.
32 Nu fiți poticnire nici iudeilor, nici neamurilor, nici bisericii lui Dumnezeu;
Give no occasion of stumbling either to the Jews or the Gentiles, or the church of God:
33 Așa cum eu plac tuturor în toate, necăutând folosul meu, ci pe al celor mulți, ca să fie salvați.
even as I please all men, not seeking my own advantage, but that of the many, that they may be saved.
