1 Cronici 23
1 Astfel când David a fost bătrân și plin de zile, l-a făcut pe Solomon, fiul său, împărat peste Israel.
Now, David, was old, and satisfied with days, —so he made Solomon his son king, over Israel;
2 Și a strâns pe toți prinții lui Israel, cu preoții și leviții.
and gathered together all the rulers of Israel, with the priests, and the Levites.
3 Și leviții erau numărați de la vârsta de treizeci de ani în sus; și numărul lor pe capii lor, bărbat cu bărbat, era de treizeci și opt de mii.
Now the Levites were numbered, from thirty years old and upwards, —and their number by their polls, of mature men, was thirty-eight thousand.
4 Din care, douăzeci și patru de mii trebuiau să înainteze lucrarea casei DOMNULUI; și șase mii erau administratori și judecători;
Of these—to preside over the work of the house of Yahweh, were twenty-four thousand, —and officers and judges, six thousand;
5 Mai mult, patru mii erau portari și patru mii lăudau pe DOMNUL cu instrumentele pe care le-am făcut să laude cu ele, a spus David.
and four thousand, were doorkeepers, —and, four thousand, were offerers of praise unto Yahweh, with instruments, which [said David] I made for offering praise.
6 Și David i-a împărțit în rânduri printre fiii lui Levi: Gherșon, Chehat și Merari.
And David divided them into courses, —pertaining to the sons of Levi, to Gershon, Kohath and Merari.
7 Dintre gherșoniți erau Laadan și Șimei.
Of the Gershonites, Ladan and Shimei.
8 Fiii lui Laadan: mai marele era Iehiel, și Zetam și Ioel, trei.
The sons of Ladan, the chief Jehiel, and Zetham and Joel, three.
9 Fiii lui Șimei: Șelomit și Haziel și Haran, trei. Aceștia erau mai marii părinților lui Laadan.
The sons of Shimei, Shelomoth and Haziel and Haran, three, —these, were the ancestral chiefs of Ladan.
10 Și fiii lui Șimei: Iahat, Zina și Ieuș și Beria. Aceștia patru erau fiii lui Șimei.
And, the sons of Shimei, Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah, —these, were the sons of Shimei, four.
11 Și Iahat era mai marele și Zina, al doilea; dar Ieuș și Beria nu au avut mulți fii; de aceea erau într-o singură socotire, conform cu casa tatălui lor.
And Jahath was chief, and Zizah the second, —but, Jeush and Beriah, had not many sons, so they became an ancestral house, by one reckoning.
12 Fiii lui Chehat: Amram, Ițehar, Hebron și Uziel, patru.
The sons of Kohath, Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13 Fiii lui Amram: Aaron și Moise; și Aaron era pus deoparte ca să sfințească lucrurile preasfinte, el și fiii lui pentru totdeauna, să ardă tămâie înaintea DOMNULUI, să îi servească și să binecuvânteze numele lui pentru totdeauna.
The sons of Amram, Aaron and Moses, —and Aaron was separated, to hallow the holy of holies, he and his sons, unto times age-abiding, to make a perfume before Yahweh, to be in attendance upon him, and to bless in his name, unto times age-abiding;
14 Și, referitor la Moise omul lui Dumnezeu, fiii lui au fost numiți din tribul lui Levi.
and, as for Moses, the man of God, his sons, were called unto the tribe of Levi.
15 Fiii lui Moise erau: Gherșom și Eliezer.
The sons of Moses, were Gershom, and Eliezer.
16 Dintre fiii lui Gherșom, Șebuel era mai marele.
the sons of Gershom, were Shebuel the chief;
17 Și fiii lui Eliezer erau: Rehabia, mai marele. Și Eliezer nu a avut alți fii; dar fiii lui Rehabia au fost foarte mulți.
and the sons of Eliezer were Rehabiah the chief, —and Eliezer had no other sons, but, the sons of Rehabiah, were very many.
18 Dintre fiii lui Ițehar: Șelomit era mai marele.
The sons of Izhar, Shelomith the chief.
19 Dintre fiii lui Hebron: Ieriia, întâiul; Amaria, al doilea; Iahaziel, al treilea; și Iecameam, al patrulea.
The sons of Hebron, Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jehaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 Dintre fiii lui Uziel: Mica, întâiul; și Iesia, al doilea.
The sons of Uzziel, Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
21 Fiii lui Merari: Mahli și Muși. Fiii lui Mahli: Eleazar și Chiș.
The sons of Merari, were Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli, were Eleazar and Kish.
22 Și Eleazar a murit și nu a avut fii, ci fiice; și frații lor, fiii lui Chiș, le-au luat.
But Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only, —and so the sons of Kish their brethren took them.
23 Fiii lui Muși: Mahli și Eder și Ieremot, trei.
The sons of Mushi, were Mahli and Eder and Jeremoth, three.
24 Aceștia erau fiii lui Levi, după casa tatălui lor; mai marii părinților, precum au fost numărați după numărul numelor, pe capii lor, ei au făcut lucrarea pentru serviciul casei DOMNULUI, de la vârsta de douăzeci de ani în sus.
These, were the sons of Levi by their ancestral house, the ancestral chiefs of them who were counted in the number of their names, by their polls, doing the work, for the service of the house of Yahweh, —from twenty years old, and upwards.
25 Fiindcă David a spus: DOMNUL Dumnezeul lui Israel a dat odihnă poporului său, să locuiască în Ierusalim pentru totdeauna;
For, said David, Yahweh the God of Israel hath given rest unto his people, —and hath taken up his habitation in Jerusalem, unto times age-abiding;
26 Și de asemenea leviților, nu vor mai purta tabernacolul, nici vreun vas din el pentru serviciul acestuia.
moreover also, as for the Levites, they have no need to bear the habitation, nor any of its vessels in the laborious work thereof.
27 Căci prin ultimul cuvânt al lui David leviții au fost numărați de la douăzeci de ani în sus,
For, by the last words of David, the same, were the number of the sons of Levi, —from twenty years old, and upwards.
28 Deoarece serviciul lor era să servească pe fiii lui Aaron pentru serviciul casei DOMNULUI, în curți și în cămări și în curățirea tuturor lucrurilor sfinte și lucrarea serviciului casei lui Dumnezeu;
For, their duty, was—to be in attendance upon the sons of Aaron, in the laborious work of the house of Yahweh, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the purifying of everything holy, —and doing the laborious work, of the house of God;
29 Deopotrivă pentru pâinile punerii înainte și pentru floarea făinii pentru darul de mâncare și pentru turtele nedospite și pentru ceea ce este copt în tigaie și pentru ceea ce este prăjit și pentru orice măsură și greutate;
and for the bread set in array, and for the fine meal for the meal-offering, and for the unleavened cakes, even for that which is baked in a pan, for the moistened food, —even of every measure, and size;
30 Și să stea în picioare în fiecare dimineață să mulțumească și să laude pe DOMNUL și la fel seara;
and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks and offer praise unto Yahweh, —and, likewise, at even;
31 Și să ofere, continuu înaintea DOMNULUI, toate sacrificiile arse DOMNULUI în sabate, în lunile noi și la sărbătorile rânduite, prin număr, conform ordinului poruncit lor;
and for all the offering of ascending-sacrifices unto Yahweh, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts, —by number, according to the manner prescribed for them continually, before Yahweh; —
32 Și să țină porunca tabernacolului întâlnirii și porunca locului sfânt și porunca fiilor lui Aaron frații lor, în serviciul casei DOMNULUI.
and they shall keep the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron, their brethren, —in the laborious work of the house of Yahweh.
