1 Cronici 13
1 Și David s-a sfătuit cu căpeteniile miilor și a sutelor și cu fiecare conducător.
David had discussions with all his leaders, including the army commanders of thousands and hundreds.
2 Și David a spus întregii adunări a lui Israel: Dacă vi se pare bine și dacă este de la DOMNUL Dumnezeul nostru, să trimitem peste tot la frații noștri de jur împrejur, care sunt rămași în toată țara lui Israel și cu ei de asemenea la preoți și la leviți care sunt în cetățile și împrejurimile lor, să se adune la noi;
Then he addressed the whole assembly of Israel, saying, “If you agree, and if God approves, let us send an invitation to every Israelite in the land, including the priests and Levites in their towns and pastures, to come and join us.
3 Și să aducem din nou chivotul Dumnezeului nostru la noi, fiindcă nu am cerut sfat de la el în zilele lui Saul.
Let us bring the Ark of our God back to us, because we forgot about it during the time of Saul.”
4 Și întreaga adunare a spus că ar dori să facă astfel, căci lucrul era drept în ochii întregului popor.
The whole assembly was pleased with the proposal, agreeing that this would be a good thing to do.
5 Astfel David a adunat tot Israelul împreună, de la Șihor din Egipt chiar până la intrarea din Hamat, pentru a aduce chivotul lui Dumnezeu de la Chiriat-Iearim.
So David summoned all of Israel, from the Shihor River of Egypt up to Lebo-hamath, to help bring the Ark from Kiriath-jearim.
6 Și David și tot Israelul s-a urcat la Baala, care este, la Chiriat-Iearim, care a aparținut lui Iuda, pentru a aduce de acolo chivotul lui Dumnezeu, DOMNUL, care locuiește între heruvimi, al cărui nume este chemat acolo.
So David and all of Israel went to Baalah (otherwise called Kiriath-jearim) in Judah to bring back the Ark of God the Lord, whose throne is between the cherubim and who is called by the Name.
7 Și au dus chivotul lui Dumnezeu într-un car din casa lui Abinadab; și Uza și Ahio au condus carul.
They loaded the Ark of God onto a brand new cart and brought it from Adinadab's house, with Uzzah and Ahio directing it.
8 Și David și întregul Israel au jucat înaintea lui Dumnezeu cu toată puterea lor, cu cântare și cu harpe și cu psalterioane și cu tamburine și cu chimvale și cu trâmbițe.
David and all of Israel were celebrating before the Lord as loudly as possible, singing sings and playing music on lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.
9 Și când au ajuns la aria lui Chidon, Uza și-a întins mâna pentru a ține chivotul; fiindcă boii s-au poticnit.
But when they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, the oxen stumbled and Uzzah stretched out his hand to stop the Ark falling.
10 Și mânia DOMNULUI s-a aprins împotriva lui Uza și l-a lovit, deoarece și-a pus mâna pe chivot și acolo a murit înaintea lui Dumnezeu.
The Lord was angry with Uzzah for daring to touch the Ark like this so he struck him down, and Uzzah died there before the Lord.
11 Și David a fost nemulțumit, deoarece DOMNUL făcuse o spărtură asupra lui Uza, de aceea acel loc este numit Pereț-Uza până în această zi.
David became angry with the Lord for his violent outburst against Uzzah. He named the place Perez-uzzah, and it is still called that today.
12 Și David s-a temut de Dumnezeu în acea zi, spunând: Cum voi aduce chivotul lui Dumnezeu acasă la mine?
David became afraid of God that day. “How can I ever bring back the Ark of God home to me?” he asked.
13 Astfel David nu a adus chivotul acasă la el, în cetatea lui David, ci l-a dus deoparte, în casa lui Obed-Edom, din Gat.
So David did not move the Ark of God to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he had it taken to the home of Obed-edom the Gittite.
14 Și chivotul lui Dumnezeu a rămas cu familia lui Obed-Edom, în casa lui, trei luni. Și DOMNUL a binecuvântat casa lui Obed-Edom și tot ce avea.
The Ark of God remained in Obed-edom's home for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom's household and all that he had.
