Rute 2
1 Noemi tinha um parente de seu marido, um homem poderoso e rico, da família de Elimelech, e seu nome era Boaz.
And Noemin had [a friend] an acquaintance of her husband, and the man [was] a mighty man of the kindred of Elimelech, and his name [was] Booz.
2 Ruth, a moabita, disse a Noemi: “Deixe-me agora ir ao campo, e colher entre as espigas de trigo atrás dele, em cuja vista eu encontro favor”. Ela disse a ela: “Vai, minha filha”.
And Ruth the Moabitess said to Noemin, Let me go now to the field, and I will glean amongst the ears behind the man with whoever I shall find favour: and she said to her, Go, daughter.
3 Ela foi, e veio e colheu no campo depois dos ceifeiros; e por acaso ela veio para a porção do campo pertencente a Boaz, que era da família de Elimelech.
And she went; and came and gleaned in the field behind the reapers; and she happened by chance to come on a portion of the land of Booz, of the kindred of Elimelech.
4 Eis que Boaz veio de Belém e disse aos ceifeiros: “Que Yahweh esteja com vocês”. Eles lhe responderam: “Que Yahweh o abençoe”.
And, behold, Booz came from Bethleem, and said to the reapers, The Lord [be] with you: and they said to him, The Lord bless you.
5 Então Boaz disse a seu criado, que foi colocado sobre os ceifeiros: “De quem é esta jovem?
And Booz said to his servant who was set over the reapers, Whose [is] this damsel?
6 A criada que foi colocada sobre os ceifeiros respondeu: “Foi a moabita que voltou com Naomi para fora do país de Moab”.
And his servant who was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel who returned with Noemin out of the land of Moab.
7 Ela disse: “Por favor, deixe-me colher e reunir depois dos ceifeiros entre as roldanas”. Então ela veio, e continuou mesmo desde a manhã até agora, exceto que ela descansou um pouco na casa”.
And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather amongst the sheaves after the reapers: and she came and stood from morning till evening, and rested not [even] a little in the field.
8 Então Boaz disse a Ruth: “Escute, minha filha. Não vá colher em outro campo, e não vá daqui, mas fique aqui perto das minhas donzelas”.
And Booz said to Ruth, Hast you not heard, [my] daughter? go not to glean in another field; and depart not you hence, join yourself here with my damsels.
9 Que seus olhos estejam no campo que elas ceifam, e vão atrás delas. Eu não ordenei aos jovens que não lhe tocassem? Quando tiver sede, vá até as vasilhas e beba daquilo que os jovens tiraram”.
[Let] your eyes [be] on the field where [my men] shall reap, and you shall go after them: behold, I have charged the young men not to touch you: and when you shall thirst, then you shall go to the vessels, and drink of that which the young men shall have drawn.
10 Então ela caiu de cara e se curvou no chão, e lhe disse: “Por que encontrei favor em sua visão, para que você tome conhecimento de mim, já que sou estrangeira”?
And she fell upon her face, and did reverence to the ground, and said to him, How is it that I have found grace in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, whereas I am a stranger?
11 Boaz respondeu-lhe: “Contaram-me tudo sobre o que você fez por sua sogra desde a morte de seu marido, e como você deixou seu pai, sua mãe e a terra de seu nascimento, e chegou a um povo que você não conhecia antes.
And Booz answered and said to her, It has fully been told me how you have dealt with your mother-in-law after the death of your husband; and how you did leave your father and your mother, and the land of your birth, and came to a people whom you knew not before.
12 Que Yahweh retribua seu trabalho, e uma recompensa completa lhe seja dada por Yahweh, o Deus de Israel, sob cujas asas você veio para se refugiar”.
The Lord recompense your work; may a full reward be given you of the Lord God of Israel, to whom you have come to trust under his wings.
13 Então ela disse: “Deixe-me encontrar um favor à sua vista, meu senhor, porque o senhor me consolou, e porque falou amavelmente com seu servo, embora eu não seja como um de seus servos”.
And she said, Let me find grace in your sight, my lord, because you have comforted me, and because you have spoken kindly to your handmaid, and behold, I shall be as one of your servants.
14 Na hora da refeição Boaz lhe disse: “Venha aqui e coma um pouco de pão, e mergulhe seu pedaço no vinagre”. Ela sentou-se ao lado dos ceifeiros, e eles passaram seu grão torrado. Ela comeu, ficou satisfeita e deixou parte dela.
And Booz said to her, Now [it is] time to eat; come here, and you shall eat of the bread, and you shall dip your morsel in the vinegar: and Ruth sat by the side of the reapers: and Booz handed her meal, and she ate, and was satisfied, and left.
15 Quando ela se levantou para colher, Boaz comandou seus jovens, dizendo: “Deixe-a colher até mesmo entre os feixes, e não a censure”.
And she rose up to glean; and Booz charged his young men, saying, Let her even glean amongst the sheaves, and reproach her not.
16 Também retirou alguns para ela dos fardos, e deixou alguns para ela. Deixe-a respigar, e não a repreenda”.
And do you by all means carry it for her, and you shall surely let fall for her some of that which is heaped up; and let her eat, and glean, and rebuke her not.
17 Então, ela respigou no campo até a noite; e bateu o que havia respigado, e foi sobre uma efa de cevada.
So she gleaned in the field till evening, and beat out that she had gleaned, and it was about an ephah of barely.
18 Ela a pegou, e foi para a cidade. Então sua sogra viu o que ela havia recolhido; e ela trouxe para fora e deu a ela o que ela havia deixado depois de ter tido o suficiente.
And she took [it] up, and went into the city: and her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned, and Ruth brought forth and gave to her the food which she had left from what she had been satisfied with.
19 A sogra dela lhe disse: “Onde você colheu hoje? Onde você trabalhou? Abençoado seja aquele que reparou em você”. Ela disse à sogra com quem havia trabalhado: “O nome do homem com quem eu trabalhei hoje é Boaz”.
And her mother-in-law said to her, Where have you gleaned today, and where have you wrought? blessed be he that took notice of you. And Ruth told her mother-in-law where she [had] wrought, and said, The name of the man with whom I wrought today [is] Booz.
20 Naomi disse a sua nora: “Que ele seja abençoado por Javé, que não abandonou sua bondade aos vivos e aos mortos”. Naomi disse-lhe: “O homem é um parente próximo de nós, um de nossos parentes mais próximos”.
And Noemin said to her daughter-in-law, Blessed is he of the Lord, because he has not failed in his mercy with the living and with the dead: and Noemin said to her, The man is near akin to us, he is one of our relations.
21 Ruth, a moabita, disse: “Sim, ele me disse: 'Você ficará perto dos meus jovens até que eles tenham terminado toda a minha colheita'”.
And Ruth said to her mother-in-law, Yes, he said also to me, Keep close to my damsels, until the men shall have finished all my reaping.
22 Naomi disse a Ruth sua nora: “É bom, minha filha, que você saia com suas donzelas, e que elas não a conheçam em nenhum outro campo”.
And Noemin said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, [It is] well, daughter, that you went out with his damsels; thus they shall not meet you in another field.
23 Então ela ficou perto das donzelas de Boaz, para colher até o final da colheita da cevada e da colheita do trigo; e ela viveu com sua sogra.
And Ruth joined herself to the damsels of Booz to glean until they had finished the barley harvest and the wheat harvest.
