Romanos 6
1 O que devemos dizer então? Devemos continuar em pecado, que a graça pode abundar?
What then shall we say? Should we continue in sin so that grace may abound?
2 May nunca será! Nós que morremos para o pecado, como poderíamos viver mais nele?
Certainly not! How can we who have died to sin still live in it?
3 Ou você não sabe que todos nós que fomos batizados em Cristo Jesus fomos batizados em sua morte?
Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into his death?
4 Fomos enterrados com Ele através do batismo até a morte, para que, assim como Cristo foi ressuscitado dos mortos pela glória do Pai, assim também nós pudéssemos caminhar em novidade de vida.
Therefore we were buried with him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
5 Pois se nos unimos a ele à semelhança de sua morte, também faremos parte de sua ressurreição;
For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will certainly also be united with him in the likeness of his resurrection.
6 sabendo disso, que nosso velho foi crucificado com ele, que o corpo do pecado poderia ser eliminado, para que não ficássemos mais presos ao pecado.
For we know that our old self has been crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
7 Pois aquele que morreu foi libertado do pecado.
For he who has died has been set free from sin.
8 Mas se morrermos com Cristo, acreditamos que também viveremos com ele,
Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
9 sabendo que Cristo, ressuscitado dentre os mortos, não morre mais. A morte já não tem mais domínio sobre ele!
For we know that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more; death no longer has dominion over him.
10 Pela morte que ele morreu, ele morreu para pecar uma vez; mas a vida que ele vive, ele vive para Deus.
For the death that he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.
11 Assim, considerem-se também mortos para o pecado, mas vivos para Deus em Cristo Jesus nosso Senhor.
So you also must consider yourselves to be dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Portanto, não deixe o pecado reinar em seu corpo mortal, que você deve obedecê-lo em suas luxúrias.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies so that you obey it in the body's sinful desires.
13 Também, não apresentem seus membros ao pecado como instrumentos de injustiça, mas apresentem-se a Deus como vivos dos mortos, e seus membros como instrumentos de justiça a Deus.
And do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness.
14 Pois o pecado não terá domínio sobre vós, pois não estais sob a lei, mas sob a graça.
For sin will have no dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
15 E depois? Devemos pecar porque não estamos sob a lei, mas sob a graça? Que nunca seja!
What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
16 Vocês não sabem que quando se apresentam como servos e obedecem a alguém, vocês são os servos de quem quer que obedeçam, seja do pecado até a morte, seja da obediência à justiça?
Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
17 Mas graças a Deus que, embora fossem servos do pecado, vocês se tornaram obedientes de coração a essa forma de ensino à qual foram entregues.
But thanks be to God that, though you were slaves of sin, you have become obedient from the heart to the pattern of teaching to which you were entrusted,
18 Being libertos do pecado, vocês se tornaram servos da retidão.
and having been set free from sin, you have become slaves to righteousness.
19 Falo em termos humanos por causa da fraqueza de sua carne; pois assim como você apresentou seus membros como servos à imundícia e à maldade sobre a maldade, ainda assim agora apresenta seus membros como servos à justiça para a santificação.
(I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.) For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.
20 Pois quando vocês eram servos do pecado, estavam livres da retidão.
For when you were slaves of sin, you were free with regard to righteousness.
21 Que fruto, então, você tinha naquele tempo, nas coisas de que agora se envergonha? Pois o fim dessas coisas é a morte.
So what fruit did you have at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? The end result of those things is death.
22 Mas agora, estando livre do pecado e tendo se tornado servos de Deus, você tem seu fruto de santificação e o resultado da vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
But now that you have been set free from sin and become slaves of God, you have fruit that leads to sanctification, and the end result is eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
