Romanos 12
1 Por isso vos exorto, irmãos, pela misericórdia de Deus, a apresentar vossos corpos um sacrifício vivo, santo, aceitável a Deus, que é o vosso serviço espiritual.
I entreat you, then, friends, by the mercies of God, to offer your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, for this is your rational worship.
2 Não se conformem com este mundo, mas sejam transformados pela renovação de sua mente, para que possam provar qual é a boa, agradável e perfeita vontade de Deus. (aiōn g165)
Do not conform to the fashion of this world; but be transformed by the complete change that has come over your minds, so that you may discern what God’s will is – all that is good, acceptable, and perfect. (aiōn g165)
3 Pois eu digo através da graça que me foi dada, a todos que estão entre vós, não para pensar em vós mais do que devíeis pensar; mas para pensar razoavelmente, pois Deus atribuiu a cada pessoa uma medida de fé.
In fulfilment of the charge with which I have been entrusted, I tell every one of you not to think more highly of themselves than they ought to think, but to think until they learn to think soberly – in accordance with the measure of faith that God has allotted to each.
4 Pois mesmo tendo muitos membros em um só corpo, e todos os membros não têm a mesma função,
For, just as in the human body there is a union of many parts, and each part has its own function,
5 então nós, que somos muitos, somos um só corpo em Cristo, e individualmente membros uns dos outros,
so we, by our union in Christ, many though we are, form but one body, and individually we are related one to another as its parts.
6 tendo dons diferentes de acordo com a graça que nos foi dada: se profecia, profetizemos de acordo com a proporção de nossa fé;
Since our gifts differ in accordance with the particular charge entrusted to us, if our gift is to preach, let our preaching correspond to our faith;
7 ou serviço, demo-nos ao serviço; ou aquele que ensina, ao seu ensino;
if it is to minister to others, let us devote ourselves to our ministry; the teacher to their teaching,
8 ou aquele que exorta, à sua exortação; aquele que dá, que o faça com generosidade; aquele que governa, com diligência; aquele que mostra misericórdia, com alegria.
the counselor to their counsel. Let the person who gives in charity do so with a generous heart; let the person who is in authority exercise due diligence; let the person who shows kindness do so in a cheerful spirit.
9 Let o amor seja sem hipocrisia. Abominem o que é maligno. Apegar-se ao que é bom.
Let your love be sincere. Hate the wrong; cling to the right.
10 No amor aos irmãos sejam ternamente afetuosos uns com os outros; na honra prefiram um ao outro,
In the love of the community of the Lord’s followers, be affectionate to one another; in showing respect, set an example of deference to one another;
11 não se atrasem na diligência, fervorosos no espírito, servindo ao Senhor,
never flagging in zeal; fervent in spirit; serving the Master;
12 regozijando-se na esperança, resistindo aos problemas, continuando com firmeza na oração,
rejoicing in your hope; steadfast under persecution; persevering in prayer;
13 contribuindo para as necessidades dos santos, e dada à hospitalidade.
relieving the wants of Christ’s people; devoted to hospitality.
14 Abençoe aqueles que o perseguem; abençoe, e não amaldiçoe.
Bless your persecutors – bless and never curse.
15 Alegre-se com aqueles que se regozijam. Chorem com os que choram.
Rejoice with those who are rejoicing, and weep with those who are weeping.
16 Sejam da mesma opinião uns para com os outros. Não se ponham a pensar em coisas altas, mas associem-se com os humildes. Não seja sábio em seus próprios conceitos.
Let the same spirit of sympathy animate you all, not a spirit of pride; enjoy the company of ordinary people. Do not think too highly of yourselves.
17 Não pague a ninguém o mal pelo mal. Respeite o que é honroso à vista de todos os homens.
Never return injury for injury. Aim at doing what everyone will recognise as honourable.
18 Se for possível, tanto quanto depender de você, esteja em paz com todos os homens.
If it is possible, as far as rests with you, live peaceably with everyone.
19 Não procure vingança, amados, mas dê lugar à ira de Deus. Pois está escrito: “A vingança me pertence; eu retribuirei, diz o Senhor”.
Never avenge yourselves, dear friends, but make way for the wrath of God; for scripture declares – “‘It is for me to avenge, I will requite,’ says the Lord.”
20 Therefore “Se seu inimigo está com fome, alimente-o. Se ele estiver com sede, dê-lhe uma bebida; pois, ao fazer isso, você amontoará brasas de fogo sobre sua cabeça”.
Rather – “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him to drink. By doing this you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
21 Não se deixe vencer pelo mal, mas vença o mal com o bem.
Never be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
